Sean Hayes received the order, and without a word, cracked his knuckles and walked straight toward Sophie White.
Sophie White stared at Sean Hayes in terror, shouting, "No, you can't hurt me! Alex won't let you get away with this! Ah!!!"
With a series of crunching sounds, accompanied by Sophie White’s agonized screams, Sean Hayes swiftly shattered Sophie’s bones, then deftly drew his sword and severed the tendons in her hands and feet.
The crisp, snapping sound of breaking bones reminded Lily Evans of that phrase: ‘Crunchy, tastes like chicken.’
Maybe you just need to chop off the head and it’s ready to eat.
Sean Hayes finished quickly, left the cell, and stood behind Lily Evans.
Sophie White was now completely crippled, lying limp on the ground, drenched in cold sweat and writhing in pain.
Lily Evans looked at Sophie White, a cold glint in her eye. "All your martial arts were taught by Prince Alexander, but instead of using them for the good of the country and its people, you chose to bully the weak and harm children. Now that I’ve destroyed your martial arts, I can at least give Prince Alexander an explanation."
Sophie White was in so much pain that she saw stars, unable to utter another vicious word.
At this moment, what Sophie White feared most was that if she threatened Lily Evans again, Lily might do something even worse to her.
"No more cursing? Finally learned your lesson?" Lily Evans clicked her tongue as she saw Sophie White stop her tirades. "Good, teachable child. I was just thinking, if you kept running your filthy mouth, I'd have Sean Hayes cut out your tongue."
Sophie White shuddered in fright. She had thought Lily Evans was just an ordinary woman, someone who'd never seen blood or killed before, but who knew Lily could be just as ruthless as she was!
This was nothing like an ordinary housewife—she was as decisive and deadly as a general on the battlefield!
The pain was too much for Sophie White. After convulsing for a while, she passed out, her clothes soaked through with sweat.
The Deputy Minister of Justice entered, wiped the sweat from his brow, and bowed to Lily Evans. "Thank you for your help, Princess Consort Lily. This criminal is highly skilled in martial arts. I was worried, since our jailers aren’t experts, and if she escaped, how could we explain it? Your method was best—now that she’s crippled, there’s no fear of her running away."
Lily Evans glanced back at the unconscious Sophie White and said to the Deputy Minister of Justice, "Sir, crippling her wasn’t just to prevent her escape. I have other uses for her."
"Other uses?" The Deputy Minister of Justice was completely baffled, unable to figure out what Princess Consort Lily was planning.
What use could there be for a female prisoner with crippled limbs?
"Sir, the families of the victims are all waiting for the trial. Let’s begin the hearing as soon as possible," Lily Evans said.
"Yes, Princess Consort Lily." The Deputy Minister of Justice hurried to order preparations for the hearing, only to discover that there were far too many people outside—the courthouse simply couldn’t hold them all.
"Princess Consort Lily, what should we do?" The Deputy Minister of Justice fretted. "There are more than fifty victims, which means over fifty families. Parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts—at least seven or eight per family. All of them are furious, waiting for justice. But there are so many people, our courthouse can’t possibly fit them all!"
"If the courthouse can’t hold them, let’s hold the trial outside in the plaza," Lily Evans sighed. "Those poor people have lost their children. Their grief must be overwhelming, and they all want to see the criminal brought to justice. Let’s honor their wishes—it might help ease the pain in their hearts."
