Jason Chen

Early that morning, an oval-shaped private starship appeared in the sky above a plain, dozens of kilometers outside Mesa City.

It hovered for over half an hour before the hatch finally opened and three hovercars flew out.

All three hovercars were famous Federation luxury models, with the cheapest costing over fifty million credits—and the lead car, a bright red one, valued at more than a hundred million.

Driving the red hovercar was a handsome young man with purple hair, while the passenger seat was occupied by a stunningly beautiful, cold-faced girl.

The other two hovercars were also occupied by a young man and a young woman each.

“Chen, this Mesa City was only built recently—there’s nothing worth seeing here. Why waste our time?” complained the black-clad youth in the second car over the comm.

“I heard Mesa City was expanded from a native town on this planet. Our goal is to check out that perfectly preserved old town!”

The voice of the purple-haired youth came through the comm.

The three luxury cars flew into Mesa City, drawing plenty of attention. Finally, they all parked outside the old town, and six people—three men and three women—got out.

The men were handsome, the women beautiful.

So, as soon as the six appeared, they drew a crowd of curious onlookers.

Tom Sun glanced at the old town and scoffed, "This place doesn’t have any real character."

"We’re already here, so let’s go in and take a look!" Jason Chen strode into the old town, and the other five quickly followed.

As noon approached, Ian Song was mulling over where to take Donna Dong for lunch when Gordon Gao suddenly burst into his office, his voice low and urgent: "Minister, something’s happened!"

"What happened?" Ian asked.

Gordon took a moment to gather his thoughts, then said gravely, "About two hours ago, three luxury hovercars arrived from outside the city. The cheapest was worth fifty million, and the most expensive over a hundred million.

Inside the cars were three men and three women. As soon as they entered the city, they went straight to the old town. Nothing happened for the first hour, but about forty minutes ago, one of the men took a fancy to a native girl and tried to force her to leave with him, which enraged her brother.

A confrontation broke out, and that young man ended up killing the native girl’s brother.

Just then, two of our Special Police and a squad of auxiliary officers were on patrol. They witnessed the killing and tried to arrest the group, but that young man was outrageously arrogant—he refused to cooperate and shot dead three auxiliary police and one Special Police officer. The remaining Special Police and auxiliaries were badly injured by a woman at his side.

Just as they were about to leave, the captain of the 1st Special Police Battalion arrived with reinforcements.

But these six were unbelievably arrogant—they didn’t care about the Special Police at all and fought the entire 1st Battalion head-on. The result: sixteen officers died on the spot, and the rest were all seriously injured.

Hearing this, Ian Song’s face turned incredibly dark. "Where are they now?" he asked.

Gordon Gao replied, "They’re still in the old town. The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Battalions have sealed it off, but those six seem totally unfazed—they have no intention of running!"

"Let’s go check it out. I want to see exactly who they think they are!"

Hearing that those six were still in the old town, Ian’s eyes flashed coldly and he stood up abruptly.

Two minutes later, Ian arrived at the entrance to the old town.

The captains of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Battalions were all waiting there. When they saw Ian arrive, they hurried over and greeted him, "Good afternoon, Minister!"

"They’re all still inside, right?" Ian asked.

"Yes, sir. They’re eating at the Spring Moon Tavern," the 2nd Battalion captain replied.

"They’re certainly relaxed. You three stay here, and Gordon, come with me to meet them!"

With that, Ian strode into the old town, Gordon following closely behind.

It took only a moment for Ian to reach the Spring Moon Tavern. Madam Spring, the proprietress, was waiting anxiously at the door. When she saw Ian, she rushed over. "Minister Song, you’re finally here!"

"Where are they?" Ian asked.

Madam Spring pointed upward. "They’re all in the Pine-and-Crane private room on the third floor."

"Got it."

Ian nodded and headed upstairs.

Pine-and-Crane private room.

Three men and three women sat around the table, eating and drinking. In the corner stood a beautiful girl with tear-streaked cheeks.

"Jason Chen, did we go too far this time?"

Jerry Jiang, the slightly chubby one, voiced his concern.

Tom Sun sneered, "Since when did you get so timid, Jerry? This is just little Mesa City—who here would dare mess with us?"

"That’s not necessarily true."

A sudden, unfamiliar voice rang out, and the private room door swung open.

The six turned to see two men entering the room. Leading was a handsome young man in a Special Police uniform with a lieutenant colonel insignia, followed by a middle-aged man with a major’s rank.

No need to guess—it was Ian Song and Gordon Gao.

Tom Sun fixed his gaze on Ian. "You were the one who said that?" he asked coldly.

"That’s right," Ian replied with a nod.

"You’ve got guts. Say it again if you dare!" Tom Sun said menacingly, already holding a Laser Cannon in his hand.

Ian just smiled and looked at him. "I was pretty clear, wasn’t I? Are you deaf, or is there mold growing in your ears?"

"You bastard, you’re asking for it!"

Tom Sun’s eyes went cold as he tried to pull the trigger, but his vision blurred—and no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t move it. Looking closer, he saw a hand had appeared, with a finger inside the trigger guard.

"Let go!" Tom Sun barked, swinging his palm at Ian.

Smack!

A crisp slap echoed through the room.

Tom Sun clutched his cheek in disbelief, glaring at Ian. "Ahhh! You actually hit me! Do you have any idea who I am?"

Smack!

Ian slapped Tom Sun across the face again.

"You bastard! You dare hit me again? Believe it or not, one phone call and I’ll have your whole family killed!"

Smack!

"Damn it, I’ll fight you to the death—!"

Smack! Smack!

This time, Ian unleashed a flurry of left-right slaps.

Suddenly, a faint rush of wind sounded—a girl had made her move. She gripped a dagger and stabbed straight for Ian’s back. She was so fast that even Gordon Gao, who saw it happening, couldn’t get a warning out in time.

But it was as if Ian had eyes in the back of his head.

Smack!

With a casual backhand, Ian sent the girl flying into the wall with a groan.

Jason Chen’s eyes narrowed slightly at the sight. Smiling, he said, "Interesting. I didn’t expect someone with such skills in a tiny Mesa City. Crescent, go test him out!"

"Yes, sir!"

The young woman beside him sprang to her feet. In a blur, she appeared at Ian’s side and sent out a light, floating palm strike...
