Crushing

This palm strike arrived at Song Yan's waist in utter silence, as if out of nowhere.

After chopping down Tom Sun with a hand-knife, Landon Lu turned his gaze to Jason Chen and said, "Abducting a girl, killing Federation citizens, resisting Special Police and slaughtering over a dozen officers, gravely wounding dozens more—any single charge is enough to get you sentenced to a lifetime of hard labor on a mining planet. Are you planning to keep resisting, or will you surrender peacefully?"

The young woman was startled. Her wrist twisted, her five fingers forming a crane's beak as she counter-pecked at the hand holding her wrist.

At the same time, her body pressed forward, her feet launching a rapid chain of kicks at Song Yan's legs. Her kicking speed was so fast it created a blur of phantom leg shadows.

"I'm Landon Lu, Minister of the Mesa City Special Police Department," Landon Lu replied.

With just a single shake, the young woman was shocked to find that it felt as if all her bones had been scattered—she couldn't muster even the slightest strength.

"No way!" Landon Lu replied, firm and uncompromising.

She had been training in martial arts since age three, grinding away for fourteen years and spending countless resources to reach the Fifth-Level War King realm—yet today she'd run into a young man even stronger than her.

She forced her true qi up, intending to retreat, but at that moment, a fingertip pressed her lower abdomen. The qi she'd just summoned instantly collapsed, and her body went limp, dropping to the floor.

Seeing that even his personal maid Crescent was no match for Song Yan, the purple-haired youth Jason Chen finally grew serious, while the slightly chubby Jerry Jiang felt a surge of dread.

"Gordon, is the Imperial Jiang Clan really that powerful?" Landon Lu asked, turning his head.

After chopping down Tom Sun with a hand-knife, Song Yan turned his gaze to Jason Chen and said, "Abducting a girl, killing Federation citizens, resisting Special Police and slaughtering over a dozen officers, gravely wounding dozens more—any single charge is enough to get you sentenced to a lifetime of hard labor on a mining planet. Are you planning to keep resisting, or will you surrender peacefully?"

"So, you're one of the Jiang Clan?" Landon Lu asked, looking at Jerry Jiang.

Jerry Jiang stepped forward and spoke.

"I'm Landon Lu, Minister of the Mesa City Special Police Department," Song Yan replied.

Landon Lu nodded, then took out a pair of handcuffs and handed them to Jerry Jiang. "Will you put these on yourself, or should I do it for you?"

"No way!" Song Yan replied, firm and uncompromising.

"It's simple—you broke the law, so I'm arresting you!" Landon Lu said.

"The Imperial Jiang Clan!"

Landon Lu chuckled. "That's not how it works. Just because I arrest you for breaking the law doesn't mean I'm taking on the whole Jiang Clan. What, you think your clan can cover the sky with one hand? Besides, you're just one member—you must have plenty of siblings, right? Big clans like yours love infighting. If I reach out to your brothers and sisters and tell them what you've done, do you think they'd kick you while you're down?"

"Gordon, is the Imperial Jiang Clan really that powerful?" Song Yan asked, turning his head.

Landon Lu's gaze fell on the handcuffs. "Put them on."

"So, you're one of the Jiang Clan?" Song Yan asked, looking at Jerry Jiang.

Landon Lu curled his lip in disdain. "I'm not the one pushing things—it's you spoiled brats who are way too arrogant. What you do on your own turf is none of my business, but if you act up on mine, you're asking for trouble. Put them on, now!"

"Oh, I see!"

Jason Chen, who hadn't spoken until now, finally stood up and looked at Landon Lu. "You really surprised me. For a mere Special Police Minister to have such skills—why not join me? I guarantee you'll make major general in three years!"

"And who exactly are you? Mind giving me a little background?" Landon Lu asked, looking at Jason Chen with playful interest.

"It's simple—you broke the law, so I'm arresting you!" Song Yan said.

"Are you seriously planning to go against the Jiang Clan?" Jerry Jiang demanded angrily.

Landon Lu spoke up, "Gordon, judging by your reaction, you must know the Tian Clan. So tell me—what makes them so impressive?"

Jerry Jiang's expression changed instantly. "You... what exactly are you trying to do?"

Song Yan's gaze fell on the handcuffs. "Put them on."

"Are you really going to push things this far?" Jerry Jiang asked coldly.

Song Yan curled his lip in disdain. "I'm not the one pushing things—it's you spoiled brats who are way too arrogant. What you do on your own turf is none of my business, but if you act up on mine, you're asking for trouble. Put them on, now!"

"Wait!"

Jason Chen, who hadn't spoken until now, finally stood up and looked at Song Yan. "You really surprised me. For a mere Special Police Minister to have such skills—why not join me? I guarantee you'll make major general in three years!"

"And who exactly are you? Mind giving me a little background?" Song Yan asked, looking at Jason Chen with playful interest.

"My surname is Tian—I'm from the military's Tian Clan!" Jason Chen said, enunciating each word.

At those words, Gordon Gao instinctively shuddered.

Song Yan spoke up, "Gordon, judging by your reaction, you must know the Tian Clan. So tell me—what makes them so impressive?"
