Third Placement Exam

1/5/2026

A brand new week began again.

Ever since he saw martial arts that could shatter the air with a single punch, Andrew Han had become almost obsessed, squeezing every moment out of his day and throwing himself wholeheartedly into the ocean of martial arts practice.

Such passion even made his own heart tremble.

Yet the more he pushed himself, the more his resolve grew, as if a machine had been switched on and now ran at full speed, impossible to stop.

He abandoned his studies entirely; even the upcoming Third Placement Exam could not shake Andrew in the slightest.

In martial arts, he poured all his time and energy into it, holding nothing back.

......

First, the Graywhite Aura: this week, he gained three strands of it, significantly improving his overall physical fitness.

Second, the Solar Pillar Stance: he practiced twice daily, each session lasting two hours. Although he was exhausted, Andrew's strong spirit allowed him to recover quickly after a short rest, returning to a vigorous state.

Finally, he worked on power techniques and simple fighting methods.

Even though Andrew Han had no plans for sparring yet and was focused on improving his physical fitness, martial arts ultimately come down to combat, so he still put some thought into it.

......

In the blink of an eye, it was already Friday, and it was noon.

The classroom, which should have been quiet for lunch break, was instead noisy and chaotic, like a bustling marketplace.

Third row by the wall.

Andrew Han sat at his desk, slowly clenching his right hand into a fist and then spreading his fingers, using the motion to engage the muscles of his arm and shoulder, honing his control over his own strength.

He was unwilling to waste even a single moment.

If he could squeeze in a little more practice, he would do his best.

"Mm."

"The Third Placement Exam starts this afternoon?" Andrew's clear eyes swept around the classroom, full of strength, then he lowered his gaze. "What a lively scene..."

With a single glance.

Inside the classroom, some students were passionately discussing knowledge points with each other, some were hurriedly cramming at the last minute, and others were eagerly planning how to cheat and finalizing their schemes.

Andrew Han, meanwhile, sat calmly at his desk, unruffled.

It was as if he didn't care about the upcoming Third Placement Exam at all, like a calm and wise statue, motionless and free of distracting thoughts, as though victory was already in his grasp.

......

"Tsk tsk."

Gu Yuanliang couldn't be bothered to cram; he couldn't memorize anything anyway. Glancing at his deskmate Andrew Han, he couldn't help but click his tongue in amazement: "Since the start of this week, my deskmate has been incredibly busy—even during class, he quietly adjusts his muscle posture."

Terrifying.

Truly terrifying.

He saw something familiar in Andrew Han.

Like some seniors in their final year, who, once they reached senior year, stopped smiling and talking, ignored everything else, and studied like madmen—their determination and perseverance even inspired awe and respect among their peers!

Andrew Han was just like that!

Except Andrew Han's obsession wasn't with studying, but with martial arts.

"I really can't figure it out." Gu Yuanliang held his exam admission ticket, pondering to himself: "Just what has my deskmate gone through?"

......

First row of seats.

Zoe Li’s jade-like face turned slightly as she secretly glanced at Andrew Han.

"Strange."

"Why isn't he worried at all... Even though I’m confident I’ll rank first in the class, maybe even top ten in the grade, I still can’t help but feel nervous. How can he be so... calm?"

Zoe Li pursed her lips and gripped her black carbon pen.

Her grades were outstanding, yet facing the upcoming Third Placement Exam, she couldn't help but feel a little nervous.

"Did he switch to the martial arts track, so he doesn't care about academic scores anymore?" Zoe Li blinked her beautiful eyes, thinking to herself, "But Andrew Han's grades are actually quite good... Is he betting everything for the college entrance exam on his Martial Arts Rank? That's too reckless."

......

Time slowly passed.

With the homeroom teacher's announcement, students left their classroom one by one, heading to the exam room listed on their admission ticket to take the Placement Exam.

The hallway outside the classroom was packed with a surging crowd, shoulder to shoulder.

Andrew Han’s face was calm as he walked among them, unruffled and at ease.

"Third Placement Exam."

As Andrew walked, he thought to himself, "If I remember correctly... In my previous life, I scored third in the class on this exam, and my parents were thrilled for a long time."

"What a pity."

"For this Third Placement Exam, I’ll definitely be first in the class. No one can shake me."

Tap.

Tap.

Andrew Han entered his assigned exam room, found his seat, and sat down casually.

"Huh?" He glanced around the exam room and was startled to see his classmate Feng Weiqi sitting right in front of him. "Feng Weiqi?"

Feng Weiqi and Xu Churan were his and Gu Yuanliang's deskmates from behind.

Front row.

Feng Weiqi quickly turned around and looked at Andrew Han timidly, squeezing out a small smile. "Andrew, what a coincidence."

Andrew Han smiled, "The exam seats are arranged according to last time’s scores. Our scores were pretty close last time... So, are you nervous?"

Feng Weiqi, wearing a neat ponytail, adjusted her black-framed glasses.

Clearly.

The miserable situation of Gao Yang last week still lingered in her fragile heart, making her a little afraid of Andrew Han... but his calm smile put her at ease.

"Of course I'm nervous."

Feng Weiqi said quickly, "I spent ages this morning going over Chinese poetry, just worried I'd lose points on the fill-in-the-blank section."

Andrew Han was surprised, "Isn't it only worth five points?"

Feng Weiqi held her forehead and smiled lightly, "It's six points! How could you forget... Even though it's only six points, the Chinese teacher emphasized it so many times—it's a must-get, you absolutely can't lose it."

As she held her forehead, her delicate brow was revealed, drawing glances from the surrounding examinees.

Actually, Feng Weiqi was quite pretty and looked gentle, but she usually wore ****** and had neat bangs, which hid her delicate features.

"Haha."

Andrew Han couldn't help but laugh.

'Absolutely can't lose it'? Coming from Feng Weiqi, those words sounded rather cute.

Feng Weiqi glanced at Andrew Han curiously and stammered, "Aren't you worried about your exam results?" Sitting behind Andrew Han, she naturally knew his study habits.

Andrew Han sighed, "Not worried, because I’ll definitely be first this time."

Whoa!

So strong!

Feng Weiqi stared blankly at Andrew Han, incredulous. "First? You’re confident you’ll beat Zoe Li? That’s amazing, really..."

Andrew Han shook his head, "I'm confident I'll beat Gu Yuanliang."

"Oh."

Feng Weiqi blinked twice.

She furrowed her brows and turned around, feeling as if something was off.

What does 'beat Gu Yuanliang' mean? Suddenly, a flash of insight crossed her mind... As she realized it, she was left dumbfounded.

But—but Gu Yuanliang is at the very bottom of the class!

Feng Weiqi held her forehead, her mind in a whirl, dazed until the Chinese test paper was handed out. Only after she started answering did she calm down.

......

The first exam: Chinese.

A female proctor paced the podium, waiting for the exam to begin and distributing the test papers.

"Attention, everyone," she said loudly. "I won't repeat the exam rules. If you're sitting in this room, it means your studies are good. Your grades are your own; cheating is pointless, and we won't bother to check if you do."

"Please be responsible for yourselves."

Another male proctor echoed her statement.

Soon after, the test papers were handed out.

Half an hour later, Andrew Han handed in his paper.

As a student who finished in just half an hour, Andrew Han stood out.

The exam seats were arranged by last time’s scores, so everyone in this room had good grades and would surely get into a regular university. All of them wished the exam time could be doubled.

Andrew Han was the only exception.

Even the two proctors were a bit surprised.

......

For the second and third exams that followed, Andrew Han did the same—after carefully filling in all the multiple-choice answers, he calmly carried his test paper to the podium, set it down, and left with an unhurried air, his composed figure lingering in everyone’s memory.

This left Feng Weiqi feeling dazed, as if the whole thing was unreal.

Andrew Han must be crazy!

But in truth, deep down, she felt a slight thrill. Although she was always obedient, sometimes she fantasized about doing something wild—like skipping class or handing in a blank paper...

But she didn’t dare; she didn’t have the courage.

Even if she secretly wished to be reckless just once, it was hard to actually try.

The other students in the classroom also couldn't help but feel a trace of admiration... What a bold person!

Three exams... and he handed in his paper after only half an hour each time!

Ignoring the two proctors, calm and unruffled!

Many students had secretly fantasized about such a bold move—who hasn’t imagined comfortably submitting a blank paper and leaving the exam room in style? But when it comes to grades, they couldn't slack off or truly follow their hearts, not even once.

But what they didn’t know was...

After leaving the classroom, Andrew Han simply found a quiet spot on campus, practiced the Solar Pillar Stance for a while, and then worked on controlling his own strength.

Inside the exam room, they were anxiously taking their tests.

Outside the exam room, Andrew Han was just as seriously practicing martial arts.
