"Stop pretending you know what you're talking about." Lora Luo stared at Evan Yang.
Evan Yang ignored her and instead released his divine sense, searching for the formation eye of this planet.
After a careful analysis, he realized the formation eye was right on this island. He smiled, "So that's how it is."
"What do you mean, 'so that's how it is'?" Lora Luo had no idea what Evan Yang was talking about.
"The formation eye is right here, under our feet, on this island," Evan Yang said.
"Seriously?" Lora Luo asked, both surprised and doubtful.
"Of course it's true. Close your eyes and focus—don't you feel the Immortal Source here is denser than anywhere else on the island?" Evan Yang asked.
Half-believing, half-doubting, Lora Luo closed her eyes and tried to sense it. At first she felt nothing, but with Evan's reminder, she began to pick up a faint sensation.
"So that's it—could this really be the formation eye?" Lora Luo opened her eyes, still skeptical.
"That's right," Evan Yang replied.
"That doesn't seem possible," Lora Luo said, still not quite believing.
Evan Yang ignored her and flew down to begin studying the island. Lora Luo watched from the side, not understanding what he was doing.
After a while, Evan Yang stopped and placed some items at a spot on the island. Suddenly, a pillar of light shot up into the sky. Lora Luo had no idea what Evan was doing and asked curiously, "What are you doing?"
"I'm diverting the array. In a moment, there will be just a few breaths of time—a brief window to rush out into the sky. If you miss it, the barrier will close again and you won't be able to get out," Evan Yang explained.
"Seriously?" Lora Luo felt strange—how did Evan know all this? If he really understood formations, how could he break such a powerful one?
Actually, Evan Yang hadn't really broken the formation—he just used the power of the formation eye to open a temporary path to the heavens.
"Enough talk. If you trust me, follow; if not, you can stay here," Evan Yang said.
Lora Luo looked at Evan Yang, still half-doubting, until he said, "Go."
Seeing Evan Yang take off, Lora Luo didn't hesitate either—she flew up as well. The pillar of light suddenly widened to about the width of two people. Evan Yang leaped forward and rushed out, with Lora Luo right behind him.
Once they flew out into the void, the pillar of light below vanished. Evan Yang stood in the emptiness, looking down at the blue water planet and said, "That was really dangerous."
"We really made it out." Lora Luo said, barely able to believe it.
"Alright, if there's nothing else, I'm leaving." Evan Yang smiled, and quickly withdrew.
Seeing this, Lora Luo cursed, "Stop right there!"
"Am I stupid? Should I just stand here and let you kill me?" Evan Yang laughed, then quickly left the void.
In just a short while, he completely left Lora Luo behind.
Evan Yang arrived on another planet, found a teleportation array, and returned to Emerald Cloud Star. He muttered to himself, "That took quite a while. I wonder how Chase Chu and the others are doing. But since the competition hasn't started yet, I'll take some time to study that rusty artifact."
So Evan Yang found an inn, went inside, then entered his tower and took out the rusty artifact to examine it carefully.
Back on Emerald Cloud Star, Lora Luo tried to track Evan, but when she realized she had lost his trail, she was furious. "Impossible! The Sword-Tracing Compass can't fail!"
Unwilling to give up, Lora Luo returned to the inn, where the Blue Robe Sect disciples were gathered. Sean Shen saw Lora return and, holding back his anger, said, "Junior Sister, you're finally back."
"Senior Brother, tell me—why did the Sword-Tracing Compass fail?" All Lora Luo wanted now was to find out Evan Yang's whereabouts.
