Yue Le's Recovery

1/4/2026

Max Mo's pale blue eyes flickered with a trace of melancholy.

This was the result of him letting things go.

Maybe this was also the best outcome.

He still felt a deep sense of responsibility and guilt toward Coach Lee.

But he truly had no other choice; he'd already given everything he could.

Lisa Li ended up this way, and he was directly responsible for it.

Yet, he couldn't respond to Lisa Li's feelings.

His heart, his world, had long been barren because of that obsession; he never planned to let another woman into it for the rest of his life.

He had warned Lisa Li again and again, but his warnings never made a difference.

In the end, he could only let it go.

He could only watch helplessly as Lisa Li stepped further into the abyss, with no chance of turning back.

"Mr. Mo," Julia Yu spoke softly, "This isn't your fault. You don't need to punish yourself for it."

Max Mo gently shook his head, "It's my fault. I knew this would be the outcome, but I didn't reach out to stop it. If I'd sent Lisa Li away back then, maybe things wouldn't be like this now."

"No, she would have come back to you no matter what," Julia Yu said. "That's just her nature—fearless and headstrong. She fell for someone she shouldn't have, and now she has to accept the consequences."

"Julia Yu," Max Mo lowered his head and looked at her, "If you were Lisa Li, what would you do?"

Julia Yu made a helpless gesture. "You said it yourself—if. I'm not Lisa Li, and I wouldn't repeat her path. Everyone in this world is unique; no one can live another person's life completely. Lisa Li got what she wanted in her own way, and maybe that's not such a bad thing."

After all, in Lisa Li's fantasy world, she and Max Mo finally ended up together, fulfilling her lifelong dream.

Max Mo gave a bitter smile. "Yes, you see things more clearly than I do. I'm too caught up in it."

Julia Yu asked, "Are you going to see her again?"

"No need," Max Mo replied. "Transfer some money from my account to make sure she lives comfortably for the rest of her life."

"Alright," Julia Yu nodded, turning to leave, but was called back again: "Julia, cherish your happiness."

Julia Yu turned back with a smile. "I will, Max."

"Go on," Max Mo smiled faintly, his pale blue eyes coming alive again.

After handling Lisa Li's affairs, Julia Yu transferred Max Mo's money to Lisa's account and went to see her before leaving.

In the hospital room, Lisa Li looked like a ten-year-old girl, hugging a life-sized stuffed toy, snuggling up to it and sweetly saying, "Max Mo, you're so handsome. Will you be my boyfriend? I promise I'll be good and be your most beloved girlfriend."

Lisa Li hugged the toy as if it were a priceless treasure.

Julia Yu watched, her eyes stinging with emotion.

Even though she didn't like Lisa Li and was tired of her antics...

Still, seeing Lisa Li like this, Julia Yu couldn't help but feel a pang of sorrow.

Let her stay in her dream, never to wake up.
