Earl Field Arrives

1/4/2026

Cherry Miller was truly in a terrible mood.

Miles Gu's situation was even more complicated than expected.

Cherry really hadn't expected Miles Gu's Second Persona to be so troublesome. She couldn't tell if this hidden side came from the Fields family's fanaticism or his birth mother's coldness.

Once she got home, Cherry immediately reported the situation to Cecilia Gu.

After hearing everything, Cecilia was silent for a while before finally asking, "Was Yina very upset when she agreed to break off the engagement?"

"She was very upset," Cherry lowered her head and said, "Madam, it's all my fault. I could have taken Yina away earlier. If we'd left sooner, maybe it wouldn't be so bad."

Cecilia shook her head and said, "It's not your fault. You've done very well, Cherry. Don't put all the blame on yourself—it's not fair to you. The situation with Miles is tricky, but that's for us parents to handle. It's not your responsibility."

"Madam..." Cherry's eyes grew hot with tears.

"Alright, go keep Yina company for now. Leave the rest to us." Cecilia patted Cherry's shoulder and stood up to leave. "Earl Field will be arriving soon. This incident has shaken the Fields family as well."

"Madam, are we welcoming Earl Field at Sunset Manor?" Cherry asked quickly. "Is there anything you need me to arrange?"

"Yes, we'll host him at Sunset Manor. Given Miles's condition, it's best not to let too many people see. Breaking off an engagement isn't exactly something to celebrate, so there's no need to do it at the old house." Cecilia said as she walked. "You handle security and accommodations. Any problems?"

"No problem!" Cherry straightened her back immediately.

As long as it was an assignment from Madam, she would make it happen no matter what!

Cecilia nodded.

After Cherry left, Cecilia turned and headed to Charles Yin's study.

"Charles," Cecilia entered with a troubled look on her face.

In front of the children, she always forced herself to appear strong and calm.

"I've heard everything," Charles stood up as soon as Cecilia entered, quickly walking over and taking her hand. "Miles has gone too far this time. I'll send Alex over to teach him a lesson."

"Enough! The kids are grown up now, don't always try to discipline them." Cecilia shot Charles a look. "Besides, how old is Alex now? You want a forty- or fifty-year-old to lecture a twenty-something? What are you thinking?"

Alex stood to the side, grinning. "Madam always spoils me the most."
