"The Triangular House in Capitalview? Wasn't that the place where people got roasted to death before?"
Hearing Stella Huang’s words, Claire Li’s face instantly went pale.
"Roasted to death?" Evan Lin glanced at them and noticed that all the girls, including Stella, had subconsciously stepped half a pace back.
Even Ivy Liang, who always kept a cool face, looked a bit ashen now.
"Yeah. The reason it’s called the Triangular House is because the whole place is weird. Normally it looks like a regular villa, but sometimes people passing by see it turn into a triangle at night." Stella explained when she saw Evan’s confusion. "A few years ago, some backpackers from out of town stayed there. Nobody knows what happened that night, but all three ended up roasted into dried corpses."
"That incident went viral around Capitalview for a long time, but then the news got locked down. After that, barely anyone talked about it anymore."
While Stella was talking, she glanced at Grizzly, hesitating. "Didn’t they say that house was already demolished?"
"Yeah, it was demolished," Grizzly rumbled, "but Second Brother Su bought the land. A feng-shui master said the spot was perfect—Nine Suns Facing Heaven, super lucky for the family. So Second Brother Su had the cursed house, the Triangular House, torn down and rebuilt."
"Everyone thought that with the old house gone and Taoists called in for rituals, it’d turn bad luck into good. But just a few days ago, new people moved in and ended up roasted dry again. Someone passing by saw the house turn triangular that night. Now the new villa’s got the same cursed rep, and Second Brother Su’s been hiring all kinds of experts to figure out what’s wrong."
After explaining, Grizzly looked at Evan Lin. "Tonight, Second Brother Su’s bringing some real experts to check out the Triangular House again. So, could I ask you to come with me?"
Grizzly spoke with utmost respect. If it were anyone else, he’d probably just drag them off. But with Evan Lin, Grizzly didn’t dare mess around.
"That Triangular House is way too creepy. You really shouldn’t go." Stella, being a girl, couldn’t help but worry.
"Second Brother Su? Who exactly do you mean by Second Brother Su?"
Just then, Claire Li spoke up, looking at Grizzly with a changed expression. "Wait, do you mean the Su family’s number two?"
The Su family’s number two!
Hearing Claire’s words, Stella, Yolanda Jiang, Ivy Liang, and the others all froze, their faces stunned.
"Yeah, that’s right. Victor Su’s second son, Second Brother Su." Grizzly nodded slightly.
The Su family!
That’s a real powerhouse clan in all of Southcape!
Besides running huge businesses, the Su family’s patriarch, Victor Su, has a legendary history that makes people tremble.
Not long ago, Victor Su supposedly went to Seacrest and vanished for ages. When he came back, he was on the brink of death—but now he’s suddenly full of life again.
Word is, Victor Su ran into some kind of otherworldly master during that trip.
With the Su-Lin marriage drama blowing up, and Victor Su’s health failing, the Su clan was losing ground. Now they might have a secret expert backing them—but who knows if that’s enough to rival the Lin family’s Southriver Sword Sect support.
There’s a lot of tangled history here. Second Brother Su’s got some fame around Southcape, but inside the Su clan, he’s actually in favor of letting Molly Su marry into the Lin family.
"It’s really him!"
Once Grizzly confirmed it, everyone’s face changed, full of amazement.
"I think this is a great chance to introduce you to Second Brother Su." Grizzly looked at Evan Lin, totally sincere.
Hearing Grizzly say that, Leo Liu stared at Evan Lin with pure jealousy. Victor Wen was just as envious.
In Southcape, if you can get in with the Su family, your future’s basically set.
"Triangular House. People roasted to death."
Evan Lin thought for a moment. Grizzly looked totally earnest, while Stella hesitated nearby.
"Alright, I’ll go with you."
Seeing Evan nod, Grizzly finally let out a huge sigh of relief.
As soon as Evan agreed, Stella immediately followed, "Take me too! I can write a report on the Triangular House!"
Claire Li and the others were uneasy and ended up not daring to get in the car.
Seeing Grizzly and his crew drive off with Evan Lin and Stella, Leo Liu stood there dumbfounded for ages before finally blurting, "That Triangular House has been creepy forever, and all that Nine Suns Facing Heaven stuff is just a joke."
"And that Evan Lin, he’s so desperate to climb up he’s lost his mind! Sure, he can fight, but the Triangular House isn’t something you can solve with your fists. If he loses everything—including his life—now that would be funny!"
Leo spat bitterly, then glanced at Ivy Liang, Victor Wen, Yolanda Jiang, and the others. Seeing none of them respond, he grew even more annoyed.
"Why’s nobody saying anything?"
Leo was baffled.
"Nothing worth saying." Yolanda Jiang shook her head and glanced at Leo Liu. "Leo, I used to think you were pretty mature."
Yolanda’s words made Leo look embarrassed.
She didn’t give Leo a chance to talk back, just called Ivy Liang to leave with her.
Victor Wen stood there, watching Grizzly’s car drive away with Evan Lin, frowning and muttering, "Showing off."
Next to him, Victor Wen felt all kinds of complicated, and now Claire Li looked like she was about to start a sister-brother romance.
Over there, Claire Li looked worried.
Victor Wen wanted to cozy up to her, but Claire shot him a glare and he backed off.
Tonight was definitely not going to be an ordinary night.
In the van, Grizzly drove carefully, afraid to go too fast.
Stella was still worried. She reached out and tugged Evan Lin’s arm. "Are you actually confident? If not, let’s just leave now."
Evan lounged in his seat and shook his head. "Don’t worry. Just treat it like we’re going to watch the fun."
Seeing Evan so casual, Stella was both anxious and annoyed, but could only sigh helplessly.
"Uh, Second Brother Su has a bit of a temper. When you meet him for the first time, if he says anything out of line, please go easy on him."
Grizzly couldn’t help but add, sounding worried.
