Within Chaos

At the stern of the Chaos Skyship, an exit had been constructed. This exit was U-shaped, and all three sides of the U were ablaze with Supreme Ley Lines.

Although this didn’t allow one to enter Chaos directly, in reality, there was little difference. Anyone who left through the U-shaped exit would enter Chaos immediately.

Joe Di had thought many Saints would have entered Chaos, but to his surprise, he was the first cultivator here who intended to do so.

Joe Di glanced at the burning U of Supreme Ley Lines, feeling a moment of hesitation. The Chaos Skyship would not stop; even if he managed to survive after entering Chaos through the U-shaped exit, he would need to keep pace with the ship.

Otherwise, he would be left alone in Chaos, never to see a result.

“You wish to enter Chaos?” The Gatekeeper Saint at the entrance looked Joe Di up and down in surprise, then asked in confusion.

Joe Di felt unfamiliar to him. Although he knew Joe Di was a Saint who had seized another’s body, he couldn’t sense any familiar aura from Joe Di.

As for the Dao resonance of Saint Zane Wyne, Joe Di had long since discarded it.

Joe Di nodded, “Yes, I want to enter Chaos and try my luck.”

Joe Di braced himself and spoke. He had no choice. Even if he knew it meant certain death, he had to seize this chance to enter Chaos. There was still a sliver of hope to survive, or perhaps even to construct his own Dao Tree. Staying on the Chaos Skyship meant living each day in mere survival.

The Gatekeeper Saint nodded, “Wait two more days. The Chaos Skyship will stop for half a stick of incense. At that time, you may enter Chaos—the window is half a stick of incense. Of course, that assumes you can return to the ship within that time.”

Joe Di was overjoyed; he hadn’t expected the ship to offer such a waiting service. It was almost like a dream come true. If it didn’t work out, he could always return first.

“To enter Chaos, you must pay five million Supreme Ley Lines.” The Gatekeeper Saint’s expression was emotionless, and his next words left Joe Di completely helpless.

Joe Di could only take out a ring and hand it over. Inside the ring were five million Supreme Ley Lines.

Two days passed in a flash. Whether the Chaos Skyship had stopped or not, Joe Di could not sense a thing. In this Chaos, moving forward or stopping made no difference at all.

“Can I go in now?” Joe Di was growing impatient.

“Yes, wait for the exit to open automatically.” The Gatekeeper Saint’s tone was a bit more friendly, perhaps because Joe Di was so prompt with the Supreme Ley Line payment.

As soon as he finished speaking, the U-shaped entrance really did open. The Gatekeeper Saint pointed to the Infernal Barrier burning with Supreme Ley Lines, “Go through this barrier, and remember to protect your physical body when you exit. Otherwise, the Supreme Ley Lines will burn you to ashes.”

“Thank you.” Without hesitation, Joe Di stepped into the burning array. His body had already surpassed the Sacred Physique stage, so he believed that if he rushed into Chaos at full speed, it shouldn’t affect him much. Besides, he wore Supreme Artifact armor and kept the World Tome ready at all times.

“Wait…” A sudden voice called out to Joe Di just as he was about to enter.

“If I’m not mistaken, you’re the cultivator who handed over ten Cosmic Dao Veins, aren’t you? You can enter Chaos, but first, turn over all your Dao Veins…” A Saint blocked Joe Di’s path as he spoke.

“You boarded the ship by paying Dao Veins?” The Gatekeeper cultivator stared at Joe Di in surprise, then suddenly sent out a message.

Joe Di was alarmed. Without hesitation, he summoned his Azure Veil Blade, sending a wild blade light to envelop the Saint blocking his way.

“Courting death…” The Saint blocking Joe Di snorted coldly. In a flash, a pitch-black artifact appeared in his hand.

But then he realized something was wrong—he shouldn’t have dodged. Joe Di wasn’t trying to fight him, but to enter Chaos. By dodging, he’d let Joe Di slip into Chaos!

But Joe Di gave him no chance to react. The frenzied blade strike was meant to make the opponent instinctively dodge. With the path cleared, Joe Di dashed toward the burning Guardian Array and stepped into Chaos.

Just as Joe Di expected, with his speed, passing through the burning Guardian Array only burned away his armor and clothes; the World Tome suffered minor damage, but nothing serious. Thanks to the World Tome’s recovery ability, it would soon be restored as long as he survived.

“Wait, you can’t leave.” The Saint guarding the exit received the message and immediately called out to Joe Di.

But before he could finish, Joe Di had already vanished from the Chaos Skyship, entering Chaos.

The moment Joe Di disappeared, Saint Quinn Jett descended. He glanced around, frowned, and said, “Was that the cultivator who set up an array at Saint Seat Plaza just now entering Chaos?”
