Undercurrents Stirring

The Supreme Ley Line Burning Array outside the Chaos Skyship was truly the pinnacle of divine formations. Yet, even such a top-tier array, while traversing Chaos and simultaneously burning nearly two thousand Supreme Ley Lines to shield the ship, faced tremendous pressure.

Under such strain, if an automatic Ley Line Extraction Array were added to constantly harvest ley lines, the ship's formation might not withstand it. Even if it could, it would require an endless supply of Cosmic Dao Veins.

Moreover, Joe Di was certain that the ship's protective array was powered by Cosmic Dao Veins. This was precisely why the value of Cosmic Dao Veins was so exorbitant.

No wonder offering just ten Cosmic Dao Veins could rival millions of Supreme Ley Lines.

Joe Di sighed, already aware of what Saint Henry Yi wanted from him—it was surely to request a Cosmic Dao Vein. His Ley Line Extraction Array relied on the energy from Cosmic Dao Veins, and without them, even Supreme Ley Lines could not sustain such an extraction array.

Saint Henry Yi, unaware that Joe Di had already figured out the problem, also sighed. "Because the ship's protective array can no longer withstand any additional auxiliary formations, adding more would only lead to various consequences."

Joe Di nodded, recalling the old saying: 'A ship cannot bear more than its load, and a load cannot bear more than its weight.' That was precisely the logic here.

"Actually, I'd like to ask you for a Cosmic Dao Vein. Although I know how precious they are, I truly have no other choice..."

While Saint Henry Yi was still explaining, Joe Di smiled and handed him a ring. "Saint Henry, it's just a Cosmic Dao Vein. Take it—it's yours."

"Ah, thank you, thank you..." Saint Henry Yi hadn't expected Joe Di to give him a Cosmic Dao Vein so easily, without even asking for anything in exchange.

The moment Joe Di handed the ring to Saint Henry Yi, a chill ran through him—he suddenly sensed something was amiss.

Saint Henry Yi knew he possessed Cosmic Dao Veins and came to ask for one; naturally, other Saints would soon know as well. It was easy to imagine they would also come to request them. Should he give, or refuse?

He currently had nearly twenty Cosmic Dao Veins, including those he had taken from the worlds of several Saints he had slain.

No, his real crisis was not other Saints seeking Cosmic Dao Veins. The true threat came from the group led by Saint Quinn Jett. Joe Di didn't know how many Cosmic Dao Veins they had collected, but he was certain they'd run out—and it would never be enough.

In Chaos, Cosmic Dao Veins were far more useful than Supreme Ley Lines.

Once the Chaos Skyship ran out of Cosmic Dao Veins, did Saint Quinn Jett really not know that Joe Di still had some? Ha! Not even a fool would believe that.

The only reason Saint Quinn Jett hadn't approached him yet was because the Chaos Skyship had only been in Chaos for a hundred years; the Cosmic Dao Veins were still sufficient.

"May I ask your name, fellow Daoist?" After receiving the Cosmic Dao Vein from Joe Di, Saint Henry Yi finally relaxed, his tone much lighter.

Joe Di did not hide his identity. "I'm Joe Di. Saint Henry, is it forbidden for us to duel or even kill each other aboard this Chaos Skyship?"

Upon hearing Joe Di's question, Saint Henry Yi's expression grew solemn. He glanced around before raising his hand to cast a soundproof barrier. "Daoist Joe, that's exactly what I wanted to discuss with you. If possible, try not to go out. The Burn Array Runes on the Chaos Skyship are consuming more and more Supreme Ley Lines. Originally, we needed one Supreme Ley Line every hour; now, it takes only half that time to consume one. And it's only been a hundred years."

There have already been killings aboard the ship. Not long ago, several Saints dueled, and the fallen were thrown directly into the Burn Array Runes to be incinerated. Both Saint Quinn Jett and Saint Tyron remained silent, merely using their grand techniques to shield the Chaos Skyship from the fallout.

Joe Di felt a chill. He had set up an automatic Ley Line Extraction Array, but hadn't paid attention to how often it now harvested Supreme Ley Lines. In any case, once the Supreme Ley Line in the Burn Array Rune was exhausted, his array would immediately draw in another.

Now, hearing that the burn time for each Supreme Ley Line had shortened, he grew uneasy.

Saint Henry Yi spoke in a low voice, "Originally, the Supreme Ley Lines accumulated by Saint Quinn Jett and Saint Tyron were enough to last ten thousand years, perhaps even longer. Now, it seems even three thousand years is risky—and that's the ideal scenario."

"What should we do then?" Joe Di asked urgently. What he truly wanted to know was how he could safely enter Chaos to construct his Dao Tree.

Saint Henry Yi shook his head and said nothing.

Joe Di could only suggest, "I think we should let the people aboard the Chaos Skyship try entering Chaos ahead of time, at least to gradually adapt. Otherwise, if the ship is destroyed one day, we won't even have a chance to survive."

Saint Henry Yi shook his head again. "It's useless. There's simply no way to survive in Chaos. Even if we try, it won't make any difference."

Joe Di immediately retorted, "But didn't Saint Quinn Jett once enter Chaos multiple times to explore, eventually discovering that burning Supreme Ley Lines could carve a path through Chaos? Maybe our strength can't compare to his, but with more people and ideas, perhaps some Saint will figure out another way."

Saint Henry Yi replied, "Your suggestion has already been raised before, but neither Saint Quinn Jett nor Saint Tyron have responded. Joe Di, for now, let's just stay at our own stations and wait. No matter what, as long as we don't leave our territory, we remain safe."

"Thank you, Saint Henry. I truly appreciate it," Joe Di said, clasping his fists in sincere gratitude.

Saint Henry's warning came at just the right time. Otherwise, if Joe Di had gone out alone searching for a way to enter Chaos, he would have been targeted and besieged without a doubt.

"If there's nothing else, Daoist Joe, I'll head back to set up my array." Having received a Cosmic Dao Vein, Saint Henry Yi was eager to return and arrange his extraction array.

Joe Di quickly said, "Saint Henry, I have one more favor to ask of you."

Saint Henry Yi replied generously, "Speak, Daoist Joe. As long as I can help, I will."

Joe Di said awkwardly, "Saint Henry, you know I come from another universe. Actually, I'd like you and your friends to suggest to Saint Quinn Jett that, since Supreme Ley Lines may not be enough to burn, perhaps Saint Quinn Jett and Saint Tyron could allow other Saints to enter Chaos and search for solutions. With more people, there's more power—someone might come up with a good idea."

Joe Di knew he couldn't make this suggestion himself. Saint Quinn Jett and Saint Tyron were already watching him because he possessed Cosmic Dao Veins. If he tried to enter Chaos, he'd be stopped immediately—not out of concern for his life, but for the Cosmic Dao Veins he carried.

Saint Henry Yi smiled at Joe Di. "Of course, that's no problem. Just be careful yourself—I'll head back now."

Clearly, Saint Henry Yi understood Joe Di's intentions, but chose not to say so.

After bidding farewell to Saint Henry Yi, Joe Di returned to his own quarters. For now, all he could do was wait—there was no other option.

He would wait at his station for a while, but if no news arrived, he might risk everything and try to use the Burn Array Rune to make contact with Chaos.

To Joe Di's surprise, after asking Saint Henry Yi for help, he didn't have to wait long. Just six days later, he heard Saint Quinn Jett speak.

"Fellow Daoists, although our Chaos Skyship still has plenty of Supreme Ley Lines, their burn time is much shorter than expected. Many have suggested that we should first enter Chaos to adapt and then seek methods for survival. I believe this is feasible. Previously, I discovered that burning Supreme Ley Lines could carve a path through Chaos; perhaps others will find even better solutions. From now on, any Saint may apply to enter Chaos. Of course, once inside, you are responsible for your own life and death... Saint Tyron and I have opened a corner of the Chaos Skyship to connect with Chaos. Good luck to all, and may someone soon discover a perfect solution."

Now that entry into Chaos was permitted, Joe Di stood up without hesitation—he had been waiting for this day.

Not willing to waste even a breath, Joe Di immediately left his concealed protective array and headed for the Chaos Skyship's entrance to Chaos.

For him, everything was ready—he only lacked the final push.

If he could construct his Dao Tree within Chaos, everything would be in his hands; he'd never again have to live at the mercy of others.

(That's all for today's update. Good night, friends!)
