Ivy’s World Collapses (2)

Scarlet Blood was suddenly grabbed from behind. She froze for a moment and turned to see Butterfly Rogue right next to her. Her face instantly changed—wasn’t this guy supposed to be dead already? How is he still flying around?

The four rushed to seize the moment, unleashing a barrage of attacks on Scarlet Blood.

But, to their surprise, Scarlet Blood twisted aside—she took just one blow before dodging the rest. Then, she stabbed her long fingernails straight into her own arm. Instantly, her eyes went blood-red again. With a sudden jerk, she unleashed a shockwave of power that blasted everyone to the ground.

"Aaaahhh!" Butterfly Rogue screamed in agony, veins bulging all the way to his eyes—his whole face twisted from the unbearable pain.

Seeing this, the others ignored the blood at their lips and charged in again—because Scarlet Blood had grabbed Butterfly Rogue’s arm and was sucking him dry. Butterfly Rogue looked like he was about to be completely drained, writhing in endless pain.

"Let her go, you damn witch!" Adrian Night roared, swinging his sword at her.

"Bastard!" Ethan Chu was furious too.

Caleb Miles threw himself in with all his strength, while Lucian Vane managed to catch Butterfly Rogue in midair.

At that moment, his body felt as weightless as a maple leaf.

"Butterfly Rogue! Butterfly Rogue—" Lucian Vane shouted desperately. The Butterfly Rogue in his arms already had sunken eyes, his whole body spasming nonstop, his gaze hollow and lifeless like his soul had been sucked out.

"Butterfly Rogue, Butterfly Rogue, hang in there!" Lucian Vane’s nose stung with tears. Seeing him like this, Lucian’s heart ached terribly. With trembling hands, he fumbled out a pill from his robes and tried to feed it to Butterfly Rogue. But Butterfly Rogue couldn’t swallow it anymore—his whole body just kept convulsing.

‘Gaa—’ High in the sky, a blood-streaked crane kept flying toward Chu Kingdom. Every so often, it let out a long, mournful cry, as if afraid the person on its back would never wake up, calling out again and again, hoping for a reaction.

Suddenly, Little White felt a slight movement from its passenger. It cried out even louder—‘Gaa—gaa—!’—as if asking, "Master, are you okay? Are you okay?"

Eli Crane slowly lifted his head and realized he was lying on Little White’s back, surrounded by freezing winds—but his body felt no cold. Looking down at his clothes, images of Ethan Chu and Adrian Night flashed through his mind.

"Little White..."

‘Gaa——’

"Where are you taking me?" Eli asked weakly, his face pale.

‘Gaa—gaa gaa——’

"Cough, cough, cough—" Hearing Little White’s answer, Eli suddenly started coughing. The next second, he stroked Little White’s feathers, "Good boy, hurry and take me back... to the Soaring Phoenix Realm..."

"Starfall Bloom!" Lucian Vane fought back with his signature poison technique, but Scarlet Blood, fueled by all the blood she'd already absorbed, moved so fast she dodged his silver needles before they even landed.

"I know you’re worried about me, but... if something happens to them, how could I ever be at peace? And... Ivy still needs me, so hurry up!" His last words came out firm and unyielding, making it clear he wouldn’t take no for an answer.

He knew Cao Wan’er had sent so many top experts after him because she feared him—he could memorize and analyze any martial art he saw, no matter the sect or clan. The next wave would be even tougher. His friends needed him. Ivy needed him.

‘Mmm——’ Little White let out a sad cry, clearly meaning that if they went back, even if Eli saved everyone, he’d definitely die.

Eli Crane smiled faintly, not minding at all. He understood Little White’s meaning—animals are spiritual, sometimes sensing life and death better than humans. He didn’t need Little White to tell him; he knew the consequences. Going back this time, he probably wouldn’t make it out. But hey, everyone dies someday, right?

As long as you die for the right reason, that’s the best ending you can hope for.

‘Gaa——’

"If you... don’t listen, I’ll just jump off!" Eli threatened, shifting his body as if to leap. The move startled Little White, who began squawking frantically.

"Good boy, hurry and turn back!"

Hearing this, Little White let out a helpless cry, then suddenly spun around and shot toward the Soaring Phoenix Realm at top speed.

Seeing this, Eli Crane reached out to stroke Little White’s neck. "Good boy. If I’m ever gone... you have to protect Little Snowball, okay?"

‘Mmm mmm mmm...’ Little White’s cry was thick with sorrow, piercing the sky and waking people from their sleep. What was that? What kind of sound was so mournful?

But when they got up and looked out into the dark night sky, they saw nothing at all.

With a splatter, fresh blood streaked through the sky and landed on the ground, sending the dust swirling.

"Adrian Night——" Lucian Vane caught Adrian in his arms. "Why? Why did you take that blow for me?"

That palm strike had been aimed right at Lucian’s heart, but at the critical moment, Adrian Night yanked him aside and took the blow to his own back. Blood gushed out instantly.

"I... I... I’m the leader, I have to take care of you!" Adrian said, coughing violently as more blood poured from his mouth.

"Butter... Little Butter..." Adrian Night looked at the motionless Butterfly Rogue, his eyes rimmed red. His breathing grew weaker—he knew he was already...

Done for!

Lucian Vane turned away, not wanting Adrian to see the tears in his eyes. As a doctor, he knew how bad Butterfly Rogue’s injuries were. Right now, only Living Buddha could bring someone back from the dead—but they had no time to get Butterfly Rogue to Chu Kingdom, and besides...

There just wasn’t enough time...

"I can’t... I can’t let you all..." Adrian choked up before he could finish. Then, stubbornly, he pushed himself to his feet. "Go... go help them!"

"Alright, you just stay put!" Lucian gave Adrian a worried look, then a sorrowful glance at Butterfly Rogue. Swallowing his grief, he rushed back into the fray.

But Scarlet Blood, eyes crazed and bloodthirsty, was like a demon, growing stronger and stronger. They couldn’t deal with her at all. In the chaos, she kept absorbing their blood.

At that moment, Lucian felt utterly helpless. Why—why wouldn’t this witch just drain his blood? If she did, she could...

Of course, she knew all about each of them—their strengths, their habits. Lucian’s blood was full of poison. She wasn’t stupid enough to try drinking his.

"Wow, the Chu Emperor’s blood really is different—it tastes so much better than theirs!" Scarlet Blood licked her lips, her smile twisted and perverse.

A huge gash appeared on Ethan Chu’s arm—right where she’d clawed him.

Bang! Bang! Two loud crashes echoed.

Ethan Chu and Caleb Miles crashed to the ground, unable to move. Caleb was covered in bloody wounds—on his arms, his back, everywhere. His face was as pale as paper; Scarlet Blood had drained so much of his blood that he couldn’t move at all.

"Haha, so that’s what the blood of the Luyu Kingdom tastes like—mmm, delicious."

"Witch, if you’ve got the guts, come at me!" Lucian Vane was wounded all over, but his injuries were lighter than the others.

Scarlet Blood shot him a haughty glance and chuckled. "I am interested in your blood, but I don’t want to die just yet, so..." She raised her brows. "But if I don’t drain your blood, you’ll be the first to die!"

Lucian couldn’t help feeling disgusted by the blood all over her face.

"Once I kill you, I’ll savor their blood slowly." She licked her lips. "So, the blood of the Snake Realm is this tasty—what a surprise! Come on, let me kill you, then take my time with dessert!"

With that, Scarlet Blood unleashed her demonic arts without hesitation.
