"Jace, are these people also from your clan?" Evan Yang asked curiously, seeing so many people daring to show up in front of the clan's team leader.
Jace was about to explain when Easton, the pampered young master, spoke angrily, "Jace, tie him up for me!"
Easton, what are you doing?" Jace asked angrily, seeing his younger brother show up with so many people in front of outsiders.
They're brothers? Evan Yang was surprised. But why are they so different? One is like Lana Situ, always helping others, while the other is a spoiled rich kid who kidnaps women by force.
The pampered young master was none other than Jace's younger brother, Easton Situ, Lana Situ's half-brother. Seeing Evan Yang right beside Jace, Easton completely forgot his own status and continued, "Jace, he broke my sword and injured me!"
Jace knew his brother's personality well—Easton must have caused trouble again. If it weren't for Second Madam Situ always shielding her precious son, he'd have been taught a lesson long ago. Not wanting to air family scandals, Jace said, "Easton, let's let father decide this later. Go wait aside for now, we have important business."
"What? Important business? So me getting beaten isn't important?" Easton shouted, refusing to back down.
"I've already said, we have serious matters to attend to. If you have a problem, take it up with father yourself." Jace snorted impatiently, then led Evan Yang away from the crowd toward a large building in the back.
Watching Jace walk around them, Easton stomped his foot and cursed, "Hmph, just because you're the clan's guard captain doesn't mean I won't do anything!"
"These two really are worlds apart." Evan Yang sighed inwardly, noticing Easton's furious reaction behind them. Jace explained, "Sorry you had to see that, Evan."
"Jace, why are you so angry? Lana's disappearance is tied to him, so I'm just trying to capture him. But you, instead, are helping an outsider. If Lana and father find out, how would they feel?" Easton Situ was startled to see Jace Situ so angry, then deliberately acted very aggrieved.
"How much strength does he have? Of course I know. If it weren't for his protective mother, my dad would've kicked him out long ago," Jace Situ said helplessly.
Seeing the situation was getting out of hand, Evan Yang smiled and said, "Jace, since your brother is so prejudiced against me, let me handle this myself."
"Yeah, he's Second Madam Situ's son, while Lana and I are our mother's children. After my mother died, Second Madam Situ took over a lot of things," Jace Situ said with a bitter smile.
Seeing his big brother step aside, Easton Situ was first displeased, then snorted, "Everyone, grab the beggar who killed my sister!"
Just as the two were about to enter the inner estate of the Situ Clan, a group blocked their way and surrounded Evan Yang without a word. Jace Situ was so angry he shouted, "You all are rebelling!"
"Not rebelling, I'm just catching the beggar who killed my little sister," Easton Situ said with a smile, stepping out from the crowd.
"When did this kid get so clever?" Both Evan Yang and Jace Situ thought the same thing—if they tried to stop them normally, it wouldn't work. But if Easton used the excuse that the clan was searching for Evan, then blocking them wouldn't technically break clan rules.
"What's wrong? Speechless now, little beggar?" Easton Situ sneered.
Evan Yang helplessly turned to Jace Situ and smiled, "Jace, looks like someone really wants to frame me."
"Evan, don't be afraid. My father will make sure you get justice." Jace Situ was very dissatisfied with Easton Situ's actions, especially what he just said—it had crossed a line. Even without Evan Yang present, just based on those words, Jace could arrest Easton in his capacity as the clan's guard captain.
Seeing Jace Situ step forward, Easton Situ frowned and said, "Jace, are you going to go against me too?"
Seeing the situation was getting out of hand, Evan Yang smiled and said, "Brother Situ, since your little brother is so prejudiced against me, let me handle this myself."
Easton Situ finally calmed down, realizing he had said too much, but still stubbornly said, "Jace, if you do this, don't blame me for being rude!"
Seeing his big brother step aside, Easton Situ was first displeased, then snorted, "Everyone, grab the beggar who killed my little sister!"
Facing the sudden appearance of several experts, Jace Situ frowned and asked, "Easton, who are these people? Why are they here?"
"Ha, that's funny. You think this is your home? Don't forget, this is the Situ Clan. Since you walked right in, I won't be polite. I'll capture you and report to father for credit!" Easton Situ laughed without a care.
"Walked right in? So you're the one who spread the news?" Evan Yang asked deliberately.
Evan Yang helplessly turned to Jace Situ and smiled, "Brother Situ, looks like someone really wants to frame me."
"Little brother, don't be afraid. My father will definitely give you justice." Jace Situ was very dissatisfied with Easton Situ's actions, especially what he just said—it had crossed a line. Even without Evan Yang present, just based on those words, Jace could arrest Easton in his capacity as the clan's guard captain.
Seeing Jace Situ step forward, Easton Situ frowned and said, "Big brother, are you going to go against me too?"
"Jace, this is my personal matter. Stay out of it, or it'll involve father and mother. Let's see how you handle that." Easton Situ pressed Jace Situ's weak spot, continuing his attack.
Anyone with a discerning eye could see Jace Situ was worried about Second Madam Situ. As the one who had come to state his intentions, Evan Yang couldn't just let himself be taken down, so he stepped forward and smiled, "Jace, let me handle this."
"Evan, this is a family matter. Please wait here for a moment. I'll be right back." Jace Situ knew he couldn't command these unknown people himself; he'd have to call on his father.
Facing the sudden appearance of several experts, Jace Situ frowned and asked, "Little brother, who are these people? Why are they here?"
"They're my private bodyguards. Do I have to report them to you?" Easton Situ replied smugly.
"Don't you know the clan rules? No matter your status, if you hire outside bodyguards or friends, you must report to me. Surely you aren't ignorant of that." Jace Situ couldn't believe outsiders had slipped into the clan so easily. Seeing Easton Situ bring in several peak Foundation-Building cultivators so casually, he realized there might be internal problems in the clan.

Evan Yang also sensed something fishy. These people were likely connected to whoever spread the rumors.
Easton Situ was no longer smug. He said, "These were assigned by my mother to protect me, so I wouldn't get bullied. If you want to report them, go talk to my mother."
"You—" Jace Situ was furious when Easton brought up Second Madam Situ.
"Big brother, this is my personal matter. You'd better stay out of it, or it'll end up involving father and mother. Hmph, let's see how you handle that." Easton Situ pressed Jace Situ's weak spot, continuing his attack.

"Little brother, this is a family matter. Please wait here for a moment. I'll be right back." Jace Situ knew he couldn't command these unknown people himself; he'd have to call on his father.
Evan Yang nodded. He didn't want to escalate things either; after all, Lana Situ grew up in this family, and Easton Situ was the clan leader's son. No matter what, he was just an outsider.
Seeing Evan Yang agree, Jace Situ quickly moved past those people. They didn't stop him—instead, they let him head toward the manor.
"He's finally gone. Everyone, move in! Hurry and capture him. Once my father arrives, things won't be so easy." Easton Situ was worried about his father, so after his big brother left, he wanted to quickly have those people seize Evan Yang and then slip away.
"You all are pretty bold," Evan Yang thought. These people dared to do such things in broad daylight at the Situ Clan estate.
"So what? If you have the guts, break my men's swords again!" Easton Situ sneered, then signaled the three men who had appeared later to draw their swords.
Evan Yang looked closely and saw that each sword was extraordinary—such swords were likely only found in certain sects, and even emitted a faint purple glow of a top-grade weapon.
"Take a good look—these are all top-grade spirit swords. If you have the guts, break them like you did last time!" Easton Situ mocked Evan Yang's surprised expression.
"You're the one who said it," Evan Yang sneered.
Easton Situ had no idea what Evan Yang meant; he thought Evan was scared stiff. But Evan pulled out two rusty daggers. When the crowd saw them, they burst into mocking laughter.
"Ignorant," Evan Yang sighed inwardly. Then, three loud bangs sounded—those three men felt a sharp pain in their hands. Easton Situ only saw Evan Yang waving his daggers, not knowing what he was doing.
After Evan Yang put away his daggers, he sneered, "All done."
"All done?" Easton Situ asked in surprise.
The three men looked at their swords with strange expressions.
Under everyone's incredulous gaze, the three top-grade spirit swords snapped and fell to the ground with a clang.
"You—" the three men said angrily in unison. These top-grade spirit swords had taken them great effort to obtain, and now a beggar had destroyed them. Easton Situ stared at Evan Yang and cursed, "Damn beggar, don't think you're so great just because you broke a few top-grade spirit weapons. Everyone, get him!"
