A Phantom S1 sped down the road, drawing curses from countless drivers.
Although Ian Song's last trip to buy a car ended unpleasantly thanks to Andy Jin's provocation, he still ended up purchasing a Phantom S1 sedan.
Three days later, after getting his driver's license, he picked up the car and stashed it inside his Storage Divine Ring.
On the way to the abandoned factory in the western suburbs, he notified Blood Rose to move in the shadows, but kept the Nangong Family's three elders on local protection duty—who knew if Lawrence would try a diversion tactic.
At the same time, he decided that no matter what, this time he had to eliminate Lawrence once and for all.
Thirteen minutes later, Ian Song arrived at the abandoned factory.
"Clairvoyant Vision, activate!"
Soon, his gaze swept over the entire factory and its surroundings, but he found neither Hannah Han nor Lawrence.
"Damn it!"
He realized he'd been played by Lawrence. Suddenly, a thought struck him, and he called Nangong Yushuang and the other two elders, instructing them to protect his uncle's family at all costs—he couldn't let Lawrence find an opening.
Five minutes later.
Ian Song's phone rang. As he answered, Lawrence's mocking voice came through: "Looks like you really care about your little lover, showing up so fast!"
"Cut the crap. What do you really want?" Ian said coldly.
"Looks like you're angry. But I love seeing you lose your cool!"
Whoosh!
A coin shot out from Ian's hand, smashing a hidden camera perched on an old tree outside the abandoned factory.
"Lawrence, don't test my patience. If you let Hannah Han go right now, I'll spare your life. Otherwise, when I get my hands on you, you'll wish you were dead!" Ian snarled fiercely.
"Seems you still don't get who's in control here. How about I cut off your little lover's ear and have it delivered to you?"
Ian took a deep breath. "What do you want, exactly?"
"Another twenty minutes. Get to Little Wang Village in the eastern suburbs. If you're late, I can't guarantee your little lover won't lose something else!"
Snap!
The call ended.
Hearing the dead tone, Ian's face was unusually calm. His earlier rage was just an act for Lawrence.
He dialed Blood Rose again. "Change of plans. Stay in the city and track Lawrence. I suspect he's still here. If you find him, let me know immediately!"
"Got it!" Blood Rose replied crisply over the phone.
After hanging up, Ian started the car and sped straight toward Little Wang Village in the eastern suburbs.
But when he reached Little Wang Village and swept the area with Clairvoyant Vision, he found nothing but a hidden camera at the village entrance—still no sign of that bastard Lawrence.
A few minutes later, his phone rang again.
"Where to this time?"
"Twenty minutes again. Eastgate Mall on South Altar Street."
"Fine."
Ian hung up and headed for Eastgate Mall once again.
Eastgate Mall was downtown, so Ian didn’t dare waste time.
But just as he entered the city, a police motorcycle lit up behind him: "Vehicle with plate ending in Y0205, Phantom S1, pull over immediately!"
"Damn! Not her again!"
Ian felt like he’d been cursed. He pressed down harder on the pedal, kicking his speed up another notch.
"Damn it, you dare run? Just wait till I catch you!"
Stella Shi barked, then accelerated after the Phantom S1.
It was rush hour in the city, so even with Ian’s insane driving skills, he couldn’t go much faster.
"Wooo! Wooo!"
The police motorcycle caught up, shouting at him, "Stop! Pull over now!"
Screech!
Ian jerked the wheel, pulled over to the curb, jumped out, and sprinted away—never even glancing at Stella Shi.
"Damn it, still trying to run! Stop right there!"
Stella Shi was furious. She gunned the police bike after Ian, suddenly struck by how familiar his back looked.
Hearing Stella's relentless pursuit behind him, Ian couldn't help but feel speechless. With a few quick dodges, he disappeared from the street.
Stella finally remembered where she'd seen that familiar back before!
"It's that kid again! Last time I let him off easy, and now he dares to do it again. No way I'll let him go this time!"
Parking the police bike by the curb, Stella dashed off in the direction Ian vanished.
Ian used Ninefold Dragon Step at full power, cutting through side streets. In less than five minutes, he arrived at Eastgate Mall.
Seeing the crowds going in and out of the mall entrance, Ian frowned. He had a bad feeling—Lawrence was probably here.
He activated Clairvoyant Vision again, scanning the entire mall. Instantly, Ian's eyes lit up—he spotted Hannah Han, tied up and gagged in an office on the third floor.
But his face quickly darkened—Hannah had a remote-control bomb strapped to her body.
Taking a deep breath, Ian kept searching. He found that there were at least ten bombs on the mall's third floor. In Hannah's office alone, besides the timed bomb on her, there were four more planted around the room.
Even stranger, Lawrence wasn’t inside the mall.
A quick analysis told Ian exactly what Lawrence was planning: he wanted Ian dead. The moment Ian stepped into Hannah's office, Lawrence would blow everything up without hesitation.
Still, remote controls only work within a certain range. Since Lawrence wasn’t inside, he had to be somewhere nearby.
Ian calmly entered the mall, found a spot without cameras, and used Clairvoyant Vision to sweep the surroundings.
"Found him!"
Even though Lawrence was disguised as an old man, Ian still recognized him—he was on the rooftop of the building across the street.
Soon, Ian’s phone rang again.
He picked up, and Lawrence’s sinister voice came through: "Your little lover is on the third floor. If you have the guts, go save her!"
After hanging up, Ian sent Blood Rose a text, then deliberately waited five minutes before heading to the third floor.
Ian reached the third floor and pushed open the door.
Hearing the commotion, Hannah Han looked up. When she saw Ian, she struggled desperately, her face full of anxiety.
Across the street, Lawrence watched Ian enter the room on his laptop screen and grinned savagely. "It's over!"
As soon as he finished speaking, he pressed the remote detonator.
But the moment he pressed it, his laptop screen suddenly went black.
Instinctively, he looked across the street—there was no explosion.
"Damn it, what the hell is going on?" Lawrence cursed loudly, stabbing the remote a few more times—still nothing.
"Shit!"
He knew he'd failed again. Forgetting about the laptop, he prepared to flee—but just then, a figure flashed onto the rooftop: a woman in leather jacket and pants.
Lawrence froze, then started laughing. "You really are my best student, managing to find me!"
