Eastgate Mall, rooftop of the building opposite.
Lawrence and Blood Rose stood several meters apart, facing each other.
Blood Rose stared coldly at Lawrence, her eyes brimming with unyielding hatred. "Today is the day you die. You can't escape."
Lawrence smirked, his tone playful. "Don't forget, I'm your teacher. Everything you know, I taught you. But what I know, you might not. Besides, your strength is only at peak A-class, while I'm S-class."
On this planet, there are several different cultivation systems. Whether Eastern or Western martial artists, they are all called Ability Users.
Ability Users are classified into five ranks: D-class, C-class, B-class, A-class, and S-class; these correspond to the Yanhuang martial artists' Postnatal Early, Postnatal Middle, Postnatal Late, Postnatal Perfection, and Innate realms.
"Die!"
Blood Rose snapped coldly, her body suddenly lunging forward. The dagger in her hand traced a graceful arc, stabbing toward Lawrence's abdomen.
"Such speed! You've broken through to S-class!"
Lawrence's expression changed abruptly, his eyes growing serious as a dagger appeared in his hand.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
The two daggers collided in midair again and again, scattering brilliant sparks.
Both fighters moved at breakneck speed—soon, only two blurred shadows darted across the rooftop.
Splat!
Blood sprayed as Blood Rose staggered back, a fresh wound slashed across her right arm.
"Even if you've broken through to S-class, you're still no match for me!"
Lawrence grinned menacingly, a bead of blood sliding off the dagger in his left hand.
As he spoke, his body darted out—both daggers flashed through the air, trailing a string of deadly, dazzling arcs of light.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Blood Rose switched her dagger to her left hand, slashing out again and again—barely able to block Lawrence's relentless assault.
In the blink of an eye, dozens of moves flew by. Blood Rose had been forced by Lawrence to the very edge of the rooftop.
He gave a sinister smile. "My student, let your teacher end your life."
Just as his dagger was about to slice open Blood Rose’s throat, a sharp whistling sound tore through the air.
Thud!
A coin shot straight through his right wrist. Lawrence’s face twisted in shock as he staggered backward.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
A string of coins zipped through the air, leaving only fleeting silver streaks behind.
Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang!
Lawrence swung his dagger desperately, but two coins still pierced straight through his kneecaps.
His legs gave out—he collapsed to his knees.
At that moment, a figure flashed—Ian Song appeared on the rooftop.
Seeing Ian Song, Lawrence’s eyes narrowed sharply. "Can you tell me how you kept the bombs from detonating?"
"A man about to die doesn’t need to know so much," Ian replied coldly.
Dong, dong!
Lawrence decisively tossed away his dagger. The moment Ian appeared, he knew there was no chance of escape.
"Kill me!"
Ian looked at Blood Rose.
Her eyes narrowed; the dagger in her hand flew from her grasp.
Thunk!
The dagger plunged straight into Lawrence’s throat.
About five minutes later, Ian Song arrived at a milk tea shop not far from Eastgate Mall.
Hannah Han, anxiously waiting inside, rushed to greet him the moment she saw him and threw herself into his arms.
Earlier, after entering the third-floor office, he activated Spatial Stasis, tore the bombs off Hannah Han, and tossed them into his storage ring.
Spatial Stasis basically creates a separate little world, so the remote’s signal can’t get in. Then, the bombs went into the storage ring—another isolated space—making it even more impossible for the signal to reach them.
That’s why the bombs didn’t explode.
After rescuing Hannah Han, he settled her at a nearby milk tea shop before heading to the rooftop.
As for why Blood Rose showed up on the rooftop, it was because he messaged her Lawrence’s location.
"Are you alright?" Hannah Han asked with concern.
"I'm fine."
As Ian Song led Hannah Han out of the milk tea shop, Stella Shi appeared with a cold smile. "Ian Song, you're suspected of speeding, evading police interception, and fleeing intentionally. Now, please come with me!"
"Officer Shi, if you don’t arrest me, I’ll give you a chance for a major merit," Ian Song said with a smile.
"Don’t try to fool me! Move it!" Stella Shi snapped fiercely.
"It’s a huge achievement, you sure you don’t want it? Don’t regret it!" Ian Song continued, his tone full of temptation.
"You’d better not be messing with me!" Stella Shi glared at him, threateningly.
"Relax," Ian Song said confidently, pointing toward Eastgate Mall. "There are quite a few bombs in the mall’s third floor. I suggest you send people to defuse them ASAP. The one who planted them is Lawrence, a Darkworld gold-medal assassin. Also, Lawrence’s corpse is on the rooftop of the building opposite Eastgate Mall."
Hearing that there were bombs on the mall’s third floor, Stella Shi was startled. When she heard "Darkworld" and "gold-medal assassin," her heart couldn’t help but race.
Although she was just an ordinary cop, she had a brother working at the War-Emblem Directorate, so she knew what kind of organization Darkworld was.
"You’d better not be lying to me, or I won’t let you off!"
With that, Stella Shi dashed off toward Eastgate Mall.
Soon, she reached the mall’s third floor and found seven or eight unconscious mall managers in a storage room. Then, in other rooms, she discovered more than a dozen bombs.
She quickly took out her phone and notified the city’s criminal police squad.
The criminal police arrived quickly.
Once the police arrived, Stella Shi went to the rooftop of the building opposite, and sure enough, found the corpse of a Westerner there.
While the police were defusing the bombs, Ian Song had already taken Hannah Han back to her apartment.
"Ian, I’m hungry. I want to eat your cooking," Hannah Han said, gazing at him hopefully.
"Alright, I’ll cook right away. But shouldn’t I get a little reward?" Ian’s gaze lingered on Hannah’s cherry lips.
"Mhm!"
She nodded shyly, then closed her eyes.
After a passionate kiss, Ian went to the kitchen, took out ingredients from his storage ring, and started cooking.
After dinner, Hannah Han took the initiative to clean up the dishes.
Once the kitchen was tidy, she grabbed her change of clothes and headed to the bathroom.
Soon, the sound of running water came from the bathroom, making Ian’s heart itch.
Half an hour later, Hannah Han emerged from the bathroom wrapped in a towel. "Go wash up too, I’ll wait for you in the bedroom!" she told him.
"Ah!"
Ian was stunned for a moment, then overjoyed. If he didn’t understand what Hannah meant now, he’d be a fool.
"Wait for me, I won’t be long!"
He dashed into the bathroom, and in less than five minutes, Ian had washed up and hurried to Hannah Han’s room.
The door was ajar, but the lights inside were off. Thinking about what was about to happen, Ian’s heart began to race.
