The Shock Brought by Alex Xiao

1/19/2026

Evan Chu was so excited to see the Violet Thunder Fox that he immediately picked her up and said, "Alex, you’ve grown another tail! Looks like you’ve evolved again."

"Big Bro, put me down! I’d better change back to my usual form—this feels weird," Alex said.

Evan set her down, and at once, a brilliant violet light flashed from Alex’s body, illuminating the whole room.

Slowly, a beautiful young girl appeared before Evan. She was completely unclothed, facing him directly—but in less than a second, a purple dress materialized on her body.

Evan stared in shock at the girl in front of him. "Alex, why didn’t you tell me to turn away? How am I supposed to handle this?"

"Hehe, I just forgot for a second. Big Bro, do you notice anything different about me now?" Alex said, circling Evan twice.

"You’re even prettier than before—and a lot naughtier too. Now that you’re free, what do you plan to do next?" Evan laughed. At this moment, Alex’s beauty was no less dazzling than Selena’s, leaving him a little stunned.

"Big Bro, someone’s peeking at us from outside. Aren’t you going to invite your friends in?" Alex said.

Evan was startled. "Wait, when you transformed just now, does that mean..."

"Nope, they can only see me as I am now. I already sensed them outside before I came out. Maybe you missed it because you were too focused on me."

"Just now, I cast a little illusion in the room—no one else could see inside. I only wanted Big Bro to see me. Don’t you want that too?" Alex said, her voice playful.

Evan nearly choked on that last line—what was that supposed to mean? The way Alex said it was way too flirty. Was he about to end up with a fox-girl girlfriend? Just imagining it gave him chills. No way that was happening.

After steadying himself, Evan called out toward the window, "You all can come in. You’ve been watching for ages—don’t think I didn’t notice you."

His words startled the three outside. A little embarrassed, they entered the room and glanced at Evan and the violet-clad girl. Selena asked, "Lin Feng, is she another spirit beast of yours?"

Seeing their shocked faces, Evan grinned. "Sit down, everyone. Since we’re all friends, I won’t hide it—she’s not my spirit beast, she’s my little sister."

Then, turning to Alex, he said, "Alex, these are all family—my sworn brother, my cousin, and that one over there is also one of my closest confidantes."

Alex glanced at the three, finally settling her gaze on Selena. She sized her up and said, "This sister is as pretty as your other confidante, but her power is something else—she’s a Divine Martial Realm expert. And she’s got Demonic Realm aura on her. Big Bro, is she from the Demonic Realm?"

Her words sent shockwaves through the group. Skylar and Selena especially stared at Alex in disbelief.

Even Skylar had never known Selena’s true background—he’d always thought she was a mysterious powerhouse from the Azure Tide Ruins, never imagining she was from the Demonic Realm.

As for Selena, she was stunned that this little fox-girl could see through her cultivation and origins in a single glance. And she’d just hatched, could already speak, and even take human form—her rank had to be extraordinary.

Evan, knowing Selena’s identity couldn’t be revealed, quickly smiled and said, "Alex, you guessed wrong. Selena’s power is definitely Divine Martial Realm, but she’s not from the Demonic Realm—she’s from the Azure Tide Ruins. She just cultivated a technique that’s similar to demonic qi, that’s all."

"Oh, I see. Big Bro, I haven’t seen you for a month and you’ve already made so many friends. It’s my fault for making you use up a Star Crystal to hatch me—are you mad at me?" Alex said, sounding a little guilty.

The words 'Star Crystal' made Skylar and Selena’s faces change dramatically. Skylar blurted out, "Did you say Evan used a Star Crystal for you?"

"That’s right. Without the Star Crystal’s energy, I’d have needed half a year to hatch. Big Bro is way too good to me," Alex said, beaming.

Selena looked at Evan and asked, "Lin Feng, you actually have a Star Crystal? That’s impossible—even the Azure Tide Ruins might not have one now. How did you get it?"

Evan didn’t get what Selena meant, so he asked, "Selena, why are you so surprised? Is a Star Crystal really that important? Or are you just curious about all this Stellar Power?"

"Lin Feng, the Stellar Power in a Star Crystal is insanely strong, but that’s not the main thing. Star Crystals only appear on the Divine Battlefield, and you actually have one—that’s unbelievable. The Divine Battlefield’s been sealed for ages.

Only the Stellar Power inside a Star Crystal can break that seal. Can you tell me how you got it?" Selena asked, deadly serious.

Evan instantly realized this was bigger than he’d thought. He never imagined the Star Crystal the Ice-Fire Twin Dragons gave him would be so important. He hesitated, debating whether to tell Selena the truth.

Luna Chu was fascinated by the beautiful fox-girl in front of her. Who would’ve guessed she’d hatch from a beast egg—and be so close with Evan?

"If I told you it was given to me by an ancient powerhouse, would you believe me?" Evan said, deciding not to mention the Ice-Fire Twin Dragons for now.

"I’d believe you. You’ve got so many secrets I can’t even explain—just like your little sister here. Her origins must be pretty wild too. I mean, you have three spirit beasts with you, and every single one is rare," Selena said.

"Alright, that’s enough for today. Some things I can’t share yet, but when the time is right, I promise I will. Everyone else, out! Selena, stay—I want to discuss tomorrow’s route with you," Evan said.

Everyone has secrets. Skylar and Luna Chu didn’t want to pry, so after hearing Evan’s words, they quietly left the room.

"Lin Feng, who are you really? Are you still not going to tell me the truth?" Selena asked, her eyes full of longing.

"Do you really want to know? I’m afraid if you found out, you’d turn against me—and we couldn’t even stay friends," Evan said, helplessly.

"I won’t. No matter who you are, I want to be with you. I told you—I was born for you, and I’ll die for you!" Selena said, her voice unwavering.

Alex glanced between the two, picking up on their feelings. "Since you like Big Bro, and I can see he likes you too, I guess it’s fine to tell you. Big Bro is actually the reincarnation of the Lord of Frostbane. Now do you get it?"

"The reincarnation of the Lord of Frostbane? That’s impossible! You’re lying, aren’t you? Evan, is she lying to me?" Selena burst out, shaken.

Evan had no idea how to answer. Selena was clearly overwhelmed. Before he could speak, she dashed out of the room.

Alex looked confused, turning to Evan. "Big Bro, did I mess something up...?"
