The newcomer was a woman, her face veiled in white gauze. Yet Ian Song could somehow sense that she wasn't very old—he caught a whiff of delicate, orchid-like girlish fragrance drifting from her body.
"Who are you?"
The man's brows furrowed as he stared at the veiled girl, a trace of wariness in his eyes.
"Step aside first, so you don't get hurt by accident."
The veiled girl ignored the other man and instead turned slightly to address Ian, her tone carrying a hint of arrogance and disdain.
Ian Song couldn't help but roll his eyes. He'd already set up formations all over the room—never mind Core Formation experts, even Sigil Condensation or Sun-Soul level fighters wouldn't be able to harm him in the slightest.
At the same time, he found it odd—he'd already scoured all of Evan Chu's memories and hadn't found a single scrap of information about this girl. So where had she popped up from?
Still, he followed her instructions and moved over to stand by Chloe Snow's bed.
"Big brother, what's going on?"
Chloe, who'd been sound asleep, was already startled awake.
Ian gently patted her head and said softly, "It's nothing serious. Just some guy came to try and assassinate me!"
On the other side.
Seeing that the veiled girl was completely ignoring him, the man's expression grew annoyed. "Evan Chu's life is mine to take. I advise you, miss, not to meddle in things that don't concern you!"
"Enough talking. If you want to do anything, you'll have to beat this fairy first!"
With a crisp shout, the veiled girl took the initiative and attacked first.
She formed hand seals with her slender, fair fingers, and instantly, clusters of pink blossoms condensed from vital energy appeared in midair—each flower formed from seven petals.
With a flick of her fingers, the blossoms suddenly surrounded the man. Then, they exploded—petals filled the air, swirling everywhere in a dazzling display.
But beneath all that beauty, a deadly killing intent was hidden.
"Fresh Flower Art—you’re from Myriad Flower Valley!"
The man suddenly cried out in shock, then formed seals and launched a counterattack.
"Aaaah!"
A series of dragon roars echoed out—the man punched, summoning a pale-gold dragon shadow a zhang long.
The dragon shadow darted wildly through the air, trying to sweep away the petals. But the petals seemed completely unaffected—even when struck by the dragon's tail, they remained perfectly intact.
Seeing this, the man's face changed again. "The Fresh Flower Art really lives up to its reputation!"
As he spoke, he summoned a giant tiger phantom.
Dragon and tiger roared together, circling around the man, while he quickly retreated out of the room.
"Evan Chu, you're lucky to have Myriad Flower Valley protecting you today. Next time, I'll come for your life!"
His voice faded into the distance, until the last word was barely audible.
"Wow, big sis is amazing—she drove off the bad guy!"
Chloe clapped her hands with delight.
Hearing this, the veiled girl looked over with a smile and said gently, "Your name is Chloe, right? How about you come back to Myriad Flower Valley with this fairy?"
Suddenly, her gaze fell on Ian Song, and her eyes turned cold, even carrying a hint of mockery. "Otherwise, staying by a certain someone's side might be hazardous to your health!"
Ian was speechless at this. He hadn't even offended her, so why did she show up acting like she couldn't stand him?
"Thank you, big sis, but I want to stay with my brother." Chloe replied without hesitation.
"Good girl, your brother dotes on you for a reason!" Ian patted Chloe's head.
"Hmph!"
Seeing this, the veiled girl let out a cold snort and continued, "Let me give you some advice: there are things you shouldn't know. Otherwise, even this fairy won't be able to protect you next time!"
"You mean about my father?" Ian probed. "Do you know something? Can you tell me?"
"No idea. And even if I did, I wouldn't tell you!"
As soon as she finished speaking, she vanished from the room. But after a moment, her voice echoed in Ian's ear again: "Remember—don't pursue that matter any further!"
