So Pitiful

"What are you doing? Didn't this fairy warn you not to investigate that matter any further? Are you just ignoring my words?"

Ian Song had just left the Feng Family compound when a veiled girl in white suddenly appeared and blocked his way, glaring at him with clear hostility.

"Lady in White, we meet again!"

Chloe, on the other hand, was quite happy to see her.

"Little girl, if you keep following him, sooner or later you'll get dragged down by his mess. Why not come back to Myriad Flower Valley with me?" The veiled girl again extended her invitation to Chloe.

"Thank you, Sister, but there's really no need. My big brother will protect me!" Chloe again made her position clear.

A trace of disappointment flickered in the veiled girl's eyes. "Fine, I won't force you if you don't want to. But if you ever change your mind, just let me know!"

Hearing this, Ian thought to himself that the veiled girl's eye for talent was pretty sharp. Chloe already had decent aptitude, but after taking the Marrow-Cleansing Pill, she had become even more radiant and spiritual—all that aura was leaking out of her. Clearly, the girl had noticed Chloe's extraordinary potential and wanted to bring her into Myriad Flower Valley.

But even though Myriad Flower Valley was mysterious and powerful, Ian had no intention of letting Chloe join. With the cultivation methods and resources he controlled, he could easily raise Chloe to goddess-level himself.

"Chloe, let's go!"

Ian just shrugged indifferently at her. "Go if you want, nobody's forcing you!"

"So you don't want this fairy to come?" the veiled girl asked, biting her lip in frustration.

"I don't want to be stared at by a crowd!" Ian teased.

"What do you mean by that?" The veiled girl's eyes widened, showing signs of anger.

"I don't want to be seen with such a shady companion!" Ian continued to provoke her. In truth, with his Clairvoyant Vision, he'd already seen her real face—beautiful, ethereal, and perfectly fitting her claim to be a fairy.

"You bastard, I'll kill you!"

"Don't, Sister! My brother didn't mean to offend you!" Chloe hurriedly blocked the veiled girl, her eyes pleading.

Seeing Chloe, the veiled girl's anger gradually faded. She snorted coldly, "For Chloe's sake, this fairy will spare you this time. If you dare do it again, I'll break your legs!"

Ian just shrugged indifferently in response.

"Chloe, let's go shopping!"

Watching the veiled girl pull Chloe forward, Ian couldn't help but show a playful smile.

Soon, during their outing, the veiled girl's true nature was revealed; she could no longer keep up her cold facade and came across as a sheltered, inexperienced girl.

At this moment, the veiled girl was happily eating a stick of candied hawthorns, as if tasting the greatest delicacy in the world.

Sigh, this girl is really pitiful. Life in Myriad Flower Valley must not be easy! Ian thought to himself, feeling wise for not sending Chloe there.

Hongtian City, Zhu Estate.

Gavin Zhu asked in a deep voice, "Is that bastard still in Maplecloud City?"

"Yes!"

The middle-aged man nodded, "The Myriad Flower Valley disciple hasn't left, so we can't act yet. But we've reached an agreement with her: as long as Evan Chu leaves Maplecloud City within three days and never steps out of Gracefield Town, we'll spare his life. Today is the last day—if he doesn't leave, we'll have an excuse to take action!"

Gavin Zhu nodded, "Good. Remember, it's best to kill that little bastard. If the Myriad Flower Valley disciple doesn't know what's good for her, kill her too!"

The middle-aged man said seriously, "Rest assured, Master. This time I'll send a Sigilforge Realm expert; the Myriad Flower Valley disciple is only late Core Formation."

"This mission cannot fail!" Gavin Zhu emphasized.

"Yes!"

Maplecloud City, inside the inn where Ian is staying.

Just as he was about to rest, the veiled girl burst in, shattering the door latch. She pointed at Chloe, sending her into a deep sleep, then stared at Ian: "Tonight you must leave and return to Gracefield Town, or you won't be able to leave at all!"

"And if I refuse?" Ian curled his lip.

The veiled girl fumed, "Why are you so stubborn? There's only an hour left before they arrive. If you don't leave, you're dead!"

"Not necessarily!" Ian replied with a confident smile. "You go ahead; I have my own ways to protect myself."

The veiled girl clearly didn't believe him, her eyes showing disdain. "You have no idea what kind of enemy you're facing. If I'm right, they're sending a Sigilforge Realm expert. With your cultivation, they'd kill you with a breath!"

Suddenly, Ian grew serious. "That's enough. I'm not leaving, and that's final!"

"That's not up to you!"

The veiled girl's eyes turned cold. She raised her hand to strike, aiming to knock Ian out.

But Ian was ready. He stepped forward and vanished, dodging her attack. "My cultivation may not match yours, but in terms of movement skills, I'm better!"

"Is that so?"

The veiled girl sneered, raising her slender hand and sending dozens of finger strikes at Ian from all directions.

Ian smiled confidently, moving as if riding the wind—stepping, twisting, leaping—dodging every attack.

Even the veiled girl couldn't help but show surprise.
