Rona Muir glared at Sean Kerr. "Are you satisfied now?"
Sean Kerr reluctantly looked away and said, not meaning it, "It's alright, I guess."
Rona Muir glared at him fiercely. "If it's such a bother, then don't make me work as an intern! I struggled through three years of high school and finally got some freedom. I wanted to hang out with my classmates and have fun, but it's all your fault—now I can't do anything!"
"So, what did you originally plan to do?" Sean Kerr couldn't help but ask.
"Travel with my classmates! Go out for fancy meals, see beautiful sights, go rafting, and so on. People like you are so boring—there's nothing we have in common." Rona Muir shot him a look of disdain. "How about this: you go tell my parents that I can't handle the job and you don't want me here! Deal?"
Rona Muir looked at Sean Kerr hopefully, her eyes pleading for him to agree.
But Sean Kerr just glanced at her and coldly tossed out a line: "Don't even think about it. Just do your internship!"
Internship, my ass! Ugh!
Rona Muir really wanted to grab one of the potted plants in the shop and smash it right into his face!
Just because he's handsome doesn't mean he can get away with anything!
I'm gorgeous too, you know!
Despite all her reluctance, Rona Muir followed Sean Kerr to the company.
As soon as they entered, Sean Kerr introduced her to everyone. "This is our new intern. From now on, if you need to report anything to me, just hand it all over to her."
Rona Muir wailed, "I just started my internship, and it's already like this!"
"This is so you can get used to the workplace early," Sean Kerr replied, unmoved. "You're destined for greatness, so it's better to start adapting now!"
"Thanks! But my life's ambition isn't to be some CEO or marry a rich guy! I just want to enjoy my vacation with my friends, okay? Ever since my first year of high school, my dad's been planning my career! Come on, I'm just a high schooler! Why do I need a career plan? Besides, I think being a teacher sounds pretty great. At least I'd get to mess with non-humans like you every now and then!"
"I'm not a non-human. There's someone even more non-human than me—his name's Charles Yin. He's the real non-human here." Sean Kerr replied coolly.
"Whatever. I don't care if you're a non-human or if this Charles Yin is a non-human. In my eyes, you're all non-human!" Rona Muir huffed. "I just graduated high school. What can I even do? Other than cleaning up, I guess I could deliver water to every department!"
"We have staff for cleaning and delivering water," Sean Kerr exposed her excuse mercilessly. "Someone will teach you everything from the basics. If you don't take it seriously, I'll tell your teacher!"
Rona Muir cried out in agony, "Sean Kerr, I'm not done with you! We're enemies for life now!"
"Fine. Then we'll never be done in this lifetime." Sean Kerr replied without even looking up. "Your first position is office clerk. In a bit, a secretary will take you to learn what a clerk does."
Rona Muir knew there was no point arguing with this man, so she just shot him a hateful glare and went off to learn with someone else.
Poor summer break, poor university! Poor future!
Rona Muir obediently spent the whole summer learning, every day left her dizzy and exhausted.
She rotated through every position in the company, one by one.
It wasn't until the day before college registration that she was finally allowed to go home.
The day Rona Muir went home, she was so happy she could fly.
She didn't even hear Sean Kerr say he'd drive her home—she just bolted out the door.
Today was a classmate's birthday party, and also the last day to celebrate the end of senior year.
No matter what, she couldn't be late.
Rona Muir didn't even bother to change clothes—she showed up to the party in her business attire.
"Wow, Nana, you look so cool! Is that an office outfit?" A few classmates saw Rona Muir arrive and crowded around, full of envy. "Wow, such nice material! Where are you working as a white-collar professional?"
Rona Muir was still full of complaints. "Don't even talk about it. This summer was torture for me. You all had fun, but I went to work for my dad's student. They said it was to get me used to majoring in business management! What nonsense! I don't even want to study business management—I just want to have fun."
"Wow, don't say that! You're way luckier than us! You haven't even started college and your future job is already lined up. Your dad's student is amazing, starting to train you this early! When you graduate, you won't even need an adjustment period. You'll go straight into management!"
"Yeah, Nana, what does your senior look like? Is that business outfit from his company or did you buy it yourself? Must be rich!"
"Exactly, Nana, you'll be a white-collar worker soon! The rest of us have to wait four more years before we can chase our dreams. You're four years ahead!"
...
The chatter from her classmates finally soothed Rona Muir's frustrated mood.
Rona Muir interrupted them. "Wait, isn't today our last get-together and someone's birthday party? Where's the birthday person?"
The other classmates suddenly smiled mysteriously, but no one answered.
"What's with you guys!" Rona Muir joined in the laughter. "Why are you all smiling so weirdly? Is it because I missed out on everyone's activities? Hey, don't leave me out like this!"
"You'll see soon enough!" one classmate said mysteriously. "Today's the main event!"
"What..." Rona Muir laughed at the others. "Why so mysterious? It's like something big is about to happen..."
Before Rona Muir could finish speaking, someone walked in from outside.
Leading the group was none other than the classmate whose birthday it was today.

He walked over slowly, holding a birthday cake.
Huh? Why is he carrying his own birthday cake?
Isn't it usually someone else who brings the cake to the birthday person?
Rona Muir felt a little lost.
The boy walked up to Rona Muir, lifted the cake in front of her, and said, "Three years ago, the first time I saw you at the school gate, I fell for you. But you said you didn't want to date in high school. So I waited for this day for three whole years. This cake marks the third anniversary of my feelings for you. Today, I want to ask you—can I pursue you now?"
Rona Muir's mouth dropped open in shock.
Wait, can we get a live explanation here? What is even happening?
How did a birthday party suddenly turn into a three-year secret crush anniversary?
What's with this secret crush thing?
And what's with this three-year thing?
How come I had no idea someone was secretly crushing on me?
All the other classmates started cheering and applauding at once.
Rona Muir was even more confused.
"Wait, can someone explain what's going on here?" Rona Muir sighed. "You all told me this was a graduation party and his birthday!"
"Sorry, we tricked you. It's just that we didn't want this regret to follow us into college," a classmate finally explained. "He came to us and asked for help, so we agreed."
Rona Muir let out a long sigh. "Stop messing around. I really have no intention of dating in college..."
Just as Rona Muir finished speaking, a scream and a curse rang out from the doorway. "Nice one, Qin Wei! You told me you were going home to get ready for college, and then you show up here to hit on girls!"
Rona Muir turned around and saw a small figure storming in.
Rona Muir was about to explain, but before she could say a word, the girl suddenly pointed at her and started yelling, "So it's you, you slut! Look at how you're dressed! Just graduated high school and already dressing like this to seduce men! No wonder Qin Wei lied to me! It's because of a fox like you!"
"I'm not—" Rona Muir felt totally helpless. What the heck is even happening?
She barely even knew Qin Wei!
She wasn't desperate enough to go after someone else's guy!
But the girl didn't give Rona Muir a chance to explain. She snatched the cake from Qin Wei's hands and smashed it right onto Rona's head!
The next second, Rona Muir's vision was blocked.
The second after that, she couldn't breathe.
Then, a chill ran all over her body.
Her classmates stared in shock at the scene before them.
Qin Wei grabbed the girl and yelled, "What's wrong with you?"
"What's wrong with me? I should be asking you! Qin Wei, you secretly liked her for three years, so why were you with me? Because of you, my grades dropped so much, I failed my college entrance exam and have to repeat a year! And now you say you've liked her for three years! What about me? What am I to you?!" The girl slapped Qin Wei and ran off crying.
Rona Muir felt like crying too.
What did she ever do to deserve this?
She just wanted to enjoy one last get-together with her classmates—why did she have to go through all this?
A classmate handed her some tissues to wipe the cream off her face and clothes.
As Rona Muir wiped herself off, her eyes turned red. "Are you guys done yet? I barely even know you—why did you..."
Her classmates looked apologetic. "Nana, we had no idea things would turn out like this... We're sorry..."
Rona Muir shook her head, disappointed. She grabbed her bag and left without looking back.
When she reached the hotel entrance, Rona Muir saw Sean Kerr leaning against a Lamborghini. For some reason, tears suddenly streamed down her face.
Sean Kerr sighed, walked over, and gently wiped away her tears. He didn't care that she was messy and held her softly. "Just remember what kind of person that was. From now on, don't trust anyone—except me."
