Surging Alchemy Hall

Joe Di chuckled and waved his hand, saying, "We can talk about cultivation later. Is Jaden Dai in Crimson Sanctuary City?"

Ding Chi looked at Joe Di with embarrassment. "Brother Di, I dragged you into this. There must be some misunderstanding. I wasn’t trapped by Jaden Dai’s people; those two were actually Unity Realm cultivators from Surging Alchemy Hall. The one I offended was the young hall master, Angus Oak. Jaden Dai isn’t in Crimson Sanctuary City, and the bounty he put on you was issued years ago."

Joe Di frowned. Surging Alchemy Hall? It seemed he had made another new enemy. But he didn’t care; he saw things clearly now. Hiding and living in fear didn’t suit his Dao.

"How many Unity Realm cultivators does Surging Alchemy Hall have?" Joe Di quickly asked, catching on.

The Prime Realm Saint Emperor shouldn’t pose any threat to him now; only Unity Realm Saint Emperors were dangerous. If there were any Unity Realm Saint Emperors here, he’d have to leave.

Ding Chi replied, "Surging Alchemy Hall has three Guildmasters. The chief Guildmaster is said to be a Unity Realm expert, while the second and third Guildmasters are half-step Unity Realm. But none of the three Guildmasters are in Crimson Sanctuary City right now—they’ve left with many other powerful cultivators for the Void Market."

"Void Market?" Joe Di asked in confusion. So many strong cultivators heading there meant the Void Market must have something valuable.

Ding Chi nodded. "Yes, the Void Market. Rumor has it there’s a Dao Fruit Tower there that opens at certain times. They all go to the Void Market seeking top-tier Dao Fruits. The Dao Fruit Tower has nine floors, and it’s said even the Unity Rainbow Fruit can be found inside."

Joe Di drew a sharp breath. Although he had a pile of Dao Fruits and even a Dao Fruit Orchard, those were all below the Prime Realm. The best among them were the Violetcloud Fruit and Thunder Echo Chrono Fruit. The Violetcloud Fruit was only good for refining Nine-Stripe Skycloud Pills, which helped Dao Nurturing cultivators advance to the Transformation Realm. The Thunder Echo Chrono Fruit was a rule Dao Fruit, helping one comprehend the Law of Time.

The Unity Rainbow Fruit was a top-tier Dao Fruit, capable of helping cultivators comprehend the Unity Realm. Its appearance would spark fierce competition throughout the entire Dao Domain.

"How do you get to the Void Market?" Joe Di asked instinctively.

Ding Chi shook his head. "I don’t know. But I do know that reaching the Void Market is extremely difficult."

Joe Di waved it off. "Forget it. Tell me how you ended up offending Surging Alchemy Hall."

Ding Chi sighed. "It’s actually because a friend of mine was kicked into the Void Sea by Angus Oak and perished there. I tried to plead for my friend, but that angered Angus Oak... To be honest, I met that friend because of you..."

"Me?" Joe Di looked at Ding Chi in confusion.

Although he and Ding Chi had both been hunted by Jaden Dai, Joe Di actually didn’t know Ding Chi at all.

"That friend’s name was Sean Yu..."

Ding Chi had only spoken the name Sean Yu when Joe Di exclaimed, "Sean Yu was killed by Angus Oak?"

Ding Chi nodded gloomily and began explaining how Sean Yu ended up kicked into the Void Sea by Angus Oak. It turned out that Sean Yu had seen Joe Di’s wanted poster in Crimson Sanctuary City and was stunned. As a result, Ding Chi approached Sean Yu and the two became acquainted.

Later, when Sean Yu learned that Jaden Dai was no longer in Crimson Sanctuary City, he left a spiritual imprint for Joe Di, hoping Joe Di would arrive soon and learn of the situation.

After Sean Yu and Ding Chi became friends, they struggled to survive together in Crimson Sanctuary City and would occasionally venture into the Void Sea in search of rare treasures.

After more than a year, they realized that while the Void Sea was indeed filled with treasures, most were beyond their reach. Some were produced by the Void Sea itself, while others were brought in by cultivators from elsewhere.

Their cultivation and strength were simply too low, and without any backing, entering the second stage in Crimson Sanctuary City was far harder than the rumors suggested.

Just this morning, Sean Yu and Ding Chi planned to seek opportunities in the Void Sea. Before departing, they visited Surging Alchemy Hall, hoping to buy some pills.

Unexpectedly, they discovered a young Dao Nurturing female cultivator at Surging Alchemy Hall. She was accused of selling a fake Dao Fruit by Surging Trade Tower and was about to have her cultivation crippled.

Sean Yu secretly told Ding Chi that the Dao Fruit the female cultivator sold wasn’t fake at all. It was the attendant from Surging Trade Tower who tried to steal her Dao Fruit and framed her. After sending the message, Sean Yu stepped forward, claimed the Dao Fruit was genuine, and even pointed out where the attendant had hidden it.

At that moment, Angus Oak, the young Guildmaster of Surging Alchemy Hall, arrived. Upon hearing the story, he immediately restrained Sean Yu, grabbed him by the neck, and threw him into the Void Sea, forbidding him from coming ashore.

Joe Di’s anger flared as he listened. He understood why Sean Yu had acted that way—it was definitely because of Joe Di’s influence. Joe Di had stayed behind to repair the protective array for the Dao Domain, and Sean Yu must have felt unworthy of such a task. If he couldn’t speak up against injustice right in front of him, he’d be no friend of Joe Di.

Sure enough, after explaining everything, Ding Chi sighed and said, "When Sean Yu stepped forward to speak, he told me it was because of you. Compared to you, he felt he was already selfish enough. If he couldn’t speak out against injustice, he didn’t deserve to be your friend."

So that was it.

Joe Di glanced around inside Crimson Sanctuary City, then turned to Ding Chi and said, "I want to go check out Surging Alchemy Hall. Do you want to come with me?"

Ding Chi replied without hesitation, "Of course I’ll go with you."

Even if Surging Alchemy Hall had second-stage cultivators now, Ding Chi would still go if Joe Di went. If he were a coward, he wouldn’t have pleaded for Sean Yu. He knew that once he spoke up, there was a high chance he’d end up sharing Sean Yu’s fate.

"By the way, what happened to the female cultivator Sean Yu saved?" Joe Di suddenly asked as he entered Crimson Sanctuary City.

Joe Di only decided to go after Ding Chi said there were no Unity Realm experts at Surging Alchemy Hall. If there were, he definitely wouldn’t have gone. Even if he wanted revenge, he’d wait until he reached the Prime Realm.

Ding Chi shook his head. "When Angus Oak came in and grabbed Sean Yu, she took the opportunity to escape. I saw it clearly—she didn’t dare say a single word, not even leave a message."

As Ding Chi spoke, it was clear he was sighing for Sean Yu. The person who was saved didn’t care about her savior’s fate and instead used the moment to flee. Sean Yu’s death seemed all the more tragic.

Joe Di frowned but said nothing more.

The cultivators who had been watching saw Joe Di and Ding Chi enter the city, apparently heading toward Surging Alchemy Hall, and followed after them.

What kind of place was Surging Alchemy Hall? This newcomer not only dared to destroy the wanted poster at the city gate, but also dared to go to Surging Alchemy Hall—he was truly bold beyond belief.

Surging Alchemy Hall was without a doubt a major commercial tower in Crimson Sanctuary City. The building had five stories, each lavishly decorated and extremely luxurious.

"Maybe Angus Oak has urgent business. Otherwise, he would have come for us already," Ding Chi said, standing at the entrance of Surging Alchemy Hall.

"It doesn’t matter. Let’s go in first," Joe Di said, already stepping into Surging Alchemy Hall while continuously sketching out law array flags.

"May I ask what kind of pills you’d like to purchase, friend?" A smiling attendant greeted Joe Di, seemingly ignoring Ding Chi.

Joe Di chuckled, patting the counter. "Not at all. My friend left two Origin Fruits here this morning to have Origin Dao Pills refined. But I’m a Dao Pill Saint myself, so my friend wants to take the Origin Fruits back and doesn’t need your help with the pill refinement."

"What? Origin Fruit?" The attendant was stunned. Origin Fruits were incredibly precious—were they really so easy to obtain? Let alone leaving them at another alchemy hall for refinement.

"Friend, Surging Alchemy Hall has never received any Origin Fruits from you," the attendant said coldly and bluntly.
