"Huff!" After unleashing the powerful Heaven's Thunder Invocation with all the true energy in his body, Shawn Young felt a wave of dizziness. His legs went weak, his throat tasted sweet, and a mouthful of fresh blood surged up. He was so exhausted he nearly collapsed, but his willpower told him this was no time to rest—the enemy was still behind them.
At that moment, Helen had already driven the Ferrari over. Shawn forced himself to stand, climbed onto the bullet-riddled car, and shouted to Helen, "We're safe for now—get us out of here, quick!"
Helen immediately slammed the gas pedal, and the Ferrari sped toward downtown Nanning City. After a tense ten-minute drive, they finally made it back to the city without further incident.
As soon as they entered the city, Helen drove straight to the entrance of the Chaoyang Police Station. As the car stopped, Sergeant Hannah Pan whispered a few words to Captain Victor Zhang, then leapt out and ran into the station. The others were about to get out too, but Shawn noticed dawn was approaching fast. Charles Morin was in critical condition—if his Life Soul wasn’t sealed immediately, the Soulhook Arrow would activate and the Yan Family Twins of Terror would snatch his soul!
Without hesitation, Shawn told Helen, "Miss Helen, it’s not safe here. We can’t stay. Please, drive us back to the docks right now—we need to get to the Starlight Princess!"
Unexpectedly, Captain Victor Zhang interrupted, shouting, "What? Not safe? This is a police station! Besides, there’s just been a string of murders and shootouts! You’re all suspects now—you have to cooperate with our investigation. Leaving is not an option—"
"Shut up! Saving lives comes first!" Shawn shouted at Victor Zhang.
"What, you—you dare threaten a cop? You’ve got some nerve!" Victor Zhang yelled, making a scene. After all, this was his turf, and Sergeant Hannah Pan had ordered him to keep everyone here for questioning. Victor himself was eager to crack a major case and earn some glory.
Victor Zhang’s shouting startled the officers inside the Chaoyang Police Station. Sergeant Hannah Pan quickly ran out, followed by a dozen armed cops. Seeing the bullet-riddled Ferrari, they drew their guns and surrounded the car, treating it like a major threat!
"Did you hear that? Victor Zhang, stop embarrassing yourself! If anything goes wrong, I can’t protect you!" The chief glared fiercely at Victor, who trembled and hung his head, not daring to make another sound.
"Alright, I have urgent business to handle! Can I leave now?" With his powerful National Security Bureau identity, Shawn straightened up and made his request.
"Of course, of course! Sir, your official business is important. If you need police assistance, just say the word! I’m Chief Justin Zhu of Chaoyang Police Station, always at your service!" The chief replied, smiling obsequiously.
"Good, then listen up. There’s a large group of armed terrorists who’ve infiltrated Nanning City. From now on, the National Security Bureau will take over this case. I fought with these terrorists last night—they’re highly trained and heavily armed. I’ll request backup from headquarters. I won’t go into more detail, but your regular police can’t handle these professionals. We’ll take care of it. Just make sure the public stays safe and calm. The terrorists are active around Shilong Mountain in the eastern suburbs. You can ask the two officers who came back with me for details. Whatever you do, don’t let them into the city. I have urgent business to attend to, so I hope you’ll protect the people’s lives and property!" Shawn said, jumping into the car.
"Don’t worry, sir—I’ll notify the armed police right away and coordinate with them to seal off Shilong Mountain and conduct a thorough search! We’ll bring those terrorists to justice!" Chief Justin Zhu replied immediately.
"Good! Get moving, then! Helen, turn the car around—we’re heading to the docks!" Shawn gave orders to Chief Justin Zhu, then turned to the astonished Helen.
"Okay!" Helen, though curious, didn’t ask any questions. She spun the car around, and the Ferrari sped toward the docks. In less than ten minutes, they arrived, and the luxurious Starlight Princess was still moored at the pier.
Before the car had even stopped, Shawn turned to Minnie Wang, who was clinging to his arm, and asked, "Minnie, does your ship have hot water?"
"Of course! The ship’s fully equipped—you can boil as much water as you want! Shawn, what do you need it for?" Minnie Wang asked curiously.
"Great!" Shawn didn’t answer Minnie’s question. Instead, he turned to Felix Eagleclaw and said, "Master Felix, you and Minnie get on the ship now. Then immediately put Charles Morin in hot water—the hotter the better!"
"Uh—okay! What about you, young man?" Felix Eagleclaw asked quickly.
"Me—I need to find a substitute object for Charles Morin right away, transfer his Life Soul and seal it. That way, the Yan Twins of Terror will show up!" Shawn said.
"Oh, what kind of substitute are you going to use?" Felix Eagleclaw couldn’t help asking.
"Oh—not sure yet. Time’s tight, so I’ll just have to look around and figure something out! If I really can’t find anything, then I guess that’s Charles Morin’s fate!" Shawn replied honestly.
"Just do your best, young man!" Felix Eagleclaw said, then picked up Charles Morin and got out of the car. Minnie Wang knew things were urgent and didn’t ask any more questions, instead leading Felix onto the Starlight Princess.
Shawn pointed to the unconscious, beautiful female ninja in the back seat and said to Helen, "Miss Helen, please take this prisoner onto the ship—I still need her!"
"Oh, got it! She’s pretty, so of course she’s useful! Hehe—" Helen winked at Shawn, then picked up the female ninja and hurried onto the Starlight Princess.
Once they were on board, Shawn immediately turned and began searching around the docks for a suitable spiritual creature to temporarily house Charles Morin’s Life Soul.
