Layers of Deadly Ambush

The group made their way down from the mountain peak to halfway down the slope, when suddenly, a burst of rapid gunfire—"da... da... da..."—rang out from the foot of the mountain. Shawn Young's face instantly changed, because he recognized the direction of the shots: it was exactly where Minnie Wang and Helen were hiding.

Felix Eagleclaw, following behind, exclaimed in shock, "Damn, looks like all the groups showing up tonight are after Charles Morin! This is definitely premeditated!"

"We can't stay here—let's move fast—get out of here, now!" Shawn Young said, clutching the unconscious female ninja in his arms and dashing swiftly down the slope. Behind him, Zhang Wanting and Pan Hui exchanged glances and immediately chased after him.

Shawn Young charged down in one breath. Before he even reached the foot of the mountain, he saw from afar that a huge truck was blocking the road ahead, with a fiery red Ferrari parked at the roadside. Helen was hiding in the woods beside the highway, crouched behind a big tree, calmly holding her carbine and exchanging fire with a group of masked men in black across the road. Several black-clad men lay on the road, bleeding and struggling—they must've been hit by Helen.

Meanwhile, Minnie Wang was trembling all over, lying low on the grass behind Helen. Her pretty face was pale with fright. Clearly, the two women were trapped in the woods, and around them, more armed men in black were closing in from two directions, trying to surround them!

At that moment, Shawn Young shoved the unconscious female ninja into Pan Hui's arms and said to the others, "Wait here—I’m going to back them up! Watch the situation and be ready to rush down!"

With that, Shawn Young surged forward, sprinting to the foot of the mountain in one go. He appeared suddenly from the side of the masked men, catching them off guard. Without wasting a moment, he quickly channeled his qi, crossed his arms in front of his chest, right hand over left, thumbs pressed together to form the ‘Heavenly Gang Seal.’ He rapidly chanted, "Heavy Vajra, blazing light pierces the void, heart and spirit unite, essence births law, gods of the ten directions, raise fire to burn the sky, by law, let it be done—Break!"

As he finished chanting, a surge of red light flooded Shawn Young’s hands. He raised both arms, and a dazzling ball of fire shot into the air, bursting forth like a rainstorm—sweeping across the masked men like brilliant fireworks. Shawn Young had unleashed the Inferno Annihilation Spell! This Taoist spell drained a ton of qi, but its destructive power and wide area of effect made it perfect for ambushes!

Boom—boom—boom—! In an instant, the entire highway was engulfed in a sea of flames raining down from the sky.

"Waaah—waaah—waaah—" Instantly, more than a dozen masked men were struck by the falling flames, their bodies igniting. Screaming in agony, they collapsed to the ground, rolling and howling, desperately trying to put out the fire. They were completely out of the fight.

With most of the enemies wiped out in an instant, the pressure on Helen and Minnie Wang in the woods eased up dramatically. They spotted Shawn Young and were overjoyed—Helen grabbed Minnie and dashed through the trees toward him.

Shawn Young was about to greet them when he suddenly caught sight of several more masked men emerging from the woods behind them, weapons raised to fire. He shouted, "Watch your backs! Get down, now!"

"Oh!" Helen reacted instantly, dragging Minnie Wang down to the ground. Just as they hit the dirt, a burst of gunfire erupted behind them, bullets whizzing right over their heads.

Seeing this, Shawn Young channeled his qi again, raised his hands, and roared, "Heavenly Thunderfire—Break!" A barrage of fireballs rained down from the sky, instantly engulfing the ambushers. The unlucky guys screamed and collapsed, thrashing wildly to put out the flames.

With the situation under control for now, Shawn Young dashed to the Ferrari, waved to Helen and Minnie Wang, and shouted to the others halfway down the slope, "Quick—everyone, get in the car!"

At his shout, Helen pulled Minnie Wang along and ran over, while Felix Eagleclaw and the others at the foot of the mountain sprinted down as well. Everyone squeezed into the Ferrari. Just then, Shawn Young saw a large group of armed masked men appear behind the big truck blocking the road, and more shadows emerging on the other side of the highway! He panicked and yelled to Helen, "Helen, you drive! I'll cover the rear!"

"Got it!" Helen answered coolly, leaping into the driver’s seat and firing up the engine. The car shot onto the highway, skimming the roadside trees, and rammed into two masked men who couldn’t dodge in time—the Ferrari barreled straight through the encirclement!

The pursuers immediately raised their weapons and unleashed a wild barrage at the Ferrari, streaks of gunfire lighting up the highway and peppering the car. But Helen’s expert driving kept them weaving and dodging; bullets rattled against the body like popcorn. Everyone ducked low, barely able to see outside, while Helen kept the pedal to the metal—"crack!" A few stray shots shattered the windshield.

Helen floored the accelerator, sending the Ferrari roaring down the highway, knocking down small trees along the way. After a bumpy ride through several layers of encirclement, they finally broke through and shook off their pursuers.

They sped onto the highway—by now, it was past midnight and there were no other cars in sight. Helen finally let out a sigh of relief, grateful for their escape. She was just about to check on everyone when suddenly, a deep engine roar sounded from behind. She glanced back and saw two high-powered two-stroke dirt bikes racing up, their headlights glaring at the Ferrari. Each rider wore a helmet—and, more worryingly, each was armed with a P5 submachine gun!

Helen panicked. She hadn’t expected the enemy to be so relentless—they were clearly out for blood. She could tell those two bikers were much tougher than the masked men before; obviously, they were professionally trained killers, able to ride and aim their submachine guns at the same time. If they caught up, it’d be real trouble...

Helen could feel the killing intent behind her without even turning around. She stomped the accelerator to the floor—the Ferrari surged ahead, but the dirt bikes, clearly souped-up and way more powerful than normal, stuck to her like glue.

Da... da... da...

The two riders flanked the Ferrari on both sides, barely fifteen or sixteen meters away, and suddenly opened fire!

Twin streams of gunfire tore into the car, riddling the body with holes. In that split second, Helen stomped the brakes!

—Screech—screech...

The Ferrari, propelled by massive inertia, skidded forward for dozens of meters, leaving a long, black, smoking skid mark on the road...

Helen threw everything she had into controlling the car, barely managing to keep it upright and avoid a fatal crash.

The two relentless bikers hadn’t expected Helen’s move—their bikes shot ahead, but their skills were top-notch. After a hundred meters, they spun around and charged right back toward the stopped Ferrari...

What they didn’t expect: a dark figure leaped from the Ferrari, flipping through the air to land squarely in the middle of the highway—it was Shawn Young!

The two biker assassins raised their P5s to gun him down, but Shawn Young bit his tongue, crossed his hands in a horse stance, rapidly formed hand seals, spat blood onto his palms, and shouted: "Azure light for ten thousand miles, Azure Emperor Divine Thunder, Heaven and Earth, break all barriers—by law, let it be done—Break!!" Dazzling violet energy surged from his hands as he flung them skyward—a pillar of purple light exploded upward.

Suddenly—"KABOOM!!" A blast of violet lightning detonated above the bikers’ heads, thunder crashing down from the sky with overwhelming force. The explosion sent both riders and their bikes flying, shredding the motorcycles midair. The assassins didn’t even have time to scream before they were engulfed in flames and hurled to the roadside—totally finished!

The blast of violet thunder even gouged a smoking crater into the highway, like a rocket strike had hit.
