I Do Have a Bit of a Temper

12/19/2025

"Keith Searle, up ahead lies the Vast Chaos..." Another cultivator's gaze fell upon the expanse of the Vast Chaos, clearly visiting for the first time.

The cultivator called Keith Searle nodded, "That should be right. Too bad we've never been here before. I heard that Hugh Yuen stepped into the Third Step right here. They say that once you enter the Vast Chaos, it's nearly impossible to come out again. Just finding the Vast Chaos is difficult enough, but leaving it is countless times harder. Many have found their way in, but sadly, never had another chance to leave."

The two chatted away, oblivious to their surroundings, as if Joe Di and Moria West were nothing but air.

Joe Di paid them no mind, building his array flags while attuning himself to the Dao resonance and rule aura of the others.

As if he'd lost hope of ever entering the Vast Chaos to seek enlightenment, Keith Searle drew out his giant hammer and glared at Joe Di. "Kid, we were only chasing this woman. You're just collateral. But for you to make it here is no small feat. Take a blow from this Saint's hammer first..."

As he spoke, Keith Searle's giant hammer swept up a pocket of space and smashed it toward Joe Di.

Joe Di marveled inwardly—this was true divine power. One swing of the hammer could command a whole pocket of space. If this power grew even stronger, a single strike could create an entire world. If he hadn't reached the Third Step, he would have had no choice but to run. But now, such tricks were nothing but a joke to him.

Moria West was startled, stepping forward to unleash her Dao resonance.

But as soon as Moria West moved, another cultivator chuckled, "If you dare make a move, I'll show you just how bad my temper can get. Of course, don't even think about running away—if you try, my temper will be just as bad."

Moria West felt a pang of despair. She knew that if she were uninjured, she could easily crush one of them. Unfortunately, her foundation was badly damaged, and facing Hugh Yuen was beyond her current strength.

Violent spatial force crashed down, and Joe Di immediately sensed the fearsome power of this technique. The opponent was not a cultivator of the Five Elements Universe, nor did he practice its arts. If it were an ordinary Five Elements Universe cultivator, trying to resist with its rules would be futile.

But Joe Di cultivated his own Dao of personal rules; his techniques were wholly unique, unaffected by whether the opponent was from the Five Elements Universe or not.

Even without the Azure Veil Blade, Joe Di still drew the ordinary long blade from his back.

"Ha! You've got guts..." Seeing that Joe Di wielded nothing but a plain blade, Keith Searle burst out laughing. The space sweeping toward Joe Di suddenly solidified, as if the giant hammer he summoned had transformed into a world of its own. No matter where Joe Di tried to flee, he was trapped beneath the crushing rules of the hammer.

Moria West's face darkened. Even at her peak, she would barely be able to block such a blow, and only because she possessed a top-tier Celestial Relic. Joe Di's blade, on the other hand, was clearly an ordinary weapon—not even a true artifact. Without a decent treasure, she couldn't fathom how Joe Di had made it this far.

Right now, Joe Di's only chance was to break free from the opponent's rule-based restraints and escape as far as possible. But that chance was nearly zero. First, Joe Di would never break loose from Keith Searle's crushing domain—Moria West knew better than anyone how terrifying that hammer strike was. Second, even if Joe Di got lucky and escaped the hammer's rule-world, Hugh Yuen would be waiting for him.

With her remaining strength, Moria West feared she couldn't stop Hugh Yuen. She resolved that if Joe Di managed to break free, she would risk everything to block Hugh Yuen and protect him.

What puzzled everyone was that Joe Di didn't try to run at all. After drawing his blade, he stepped straight into the hammer-forged world, swinging his long blade with a single slash.

A flash of joy appeared in Moria West's eyes. She wasn't just surprised that Joe Di stepped forward and attacked, but that he could move so freely within the opponent's domain and still strike. This meant Joe Di could escape, but he chose not to.

As Joe Di struck, Keith Searle's eyes narrowed. He knew just how powerful his domain's restraints were. The opponent was clearly young, perhaps not even at the Third Step—how could he possibly act within such a dominant field?

The blade's brilliance unfurled into a Blade Curtain, sweeping toward the giant hammer like ripples suddenly spreading across a tranquil lake.

But that wasn't the end. After the first slash, it seemed as if another blade appeared in Joe Di's hand, and he struck again. Though Moria West's cultivation was weakened, she could sense that Joe Di hadn't conjured a second blade—the second slash was still with the same weapon. This was the power of Temporal Law, and not just any Temporal Law, but one that surpassed the bounds of a single universe.

Moria West clenched her fists in excitement. Within the Five Elements Universe, the rules often couldn't be used in other universes, leaving its cultivators at a disadvantage outside their home. Yet Joe Di's Temporal Law was completely unaffected. When he unleashed this technique, there was no sense of stagnation or artificiality—just pure, flowing power.

The Blade Curtain grew wider and wider; the ripples on the lake turned to waves, and the tranquil lake became a surging river.

With the third slash, the waves became towering surges, cascading down—the river transformed into an ocean!

The void of this universe roared; these were not mere blade waves, but the frenzied torrents of a collapsing cosmos. The aura of death became blade-tide after blade-tide, cascading endlessly. No, this was even more terrifying than the collapse of a universe—the ocean itself became the cosmos!

Endless Blade Curtain—ninety thousand miles, not a speck of dust in sight!

Boom! Boom! Boom! The blade surges crashed wave after wave against the hammer-forged space. The first wave was shattered by the hammer's domain, shrinking its world in an instant. The second wave rolled in, followed by the third, the fourth...

Crack! The hammer-forged space was blasted into oblivion by the blade-tide, and even the giant hammer reverted to ordinary in the void.

Joe Di let out a long howl, "Triple Loom! Windswept sands, the undersea darkness below; surging waves, the innocence afloat above. Endless Blade Curtain—ninety thousand miles, not a speck of dust in sight... And you, a mere ant from another race, dare block Old Master Di? Die!"

After stepping into the Third Step, Joe Di unleashed Time's Third Loom once more, feeling an intense exhilaration. The sense of frustration from before, unable to fully express the power of Time's Third Loom, vanished completely. Now, he could weave his Dao resonance into the surging blade-tide, letting Time's Third Loom erupt in all its glory.

Crack! Both Joe Di's blade and the giant hammer shattered at once.

Splurt! Blood mist exploded everywhere. Keith Searle was ground up like meat in a grinder, his body a mangled ruin. The treasure armor he wore was nothing but paper under Joe Di's blade-tide.

If not for his armor, Joe Di's fourth wave of blade-tide would have finished him off right there.

Had Joe Di's Time's Third Loom only unleashed four waves, Keith Searle might have escaped with his life, miserable as he was. But Joe Di had more than just four waves—the fifth was already crashing down.

"Sto..." Keith Searle didn't even finish his plea before the fifth wave swept him away, pulverizing him—truly, not a speck of dust remained.

Both Moria West and Hugh Yuen gasped—where had this monster come from? He was defying the very heavens.

Hugh Yuen quickly recovered, his body blurring into a shadow that darted toward the Brown Cosmic Vortex.

With Joe Di's overwhelming power, staying here would be suicide.

Moria West wanted to stop him, but her current strength was too limited—she couldn't hold him back.

Joe Di sneered, "You threaten Old Master Di and think you can just leave? Old Master Di does have a temper, you know."

He didn't bother to chase. With a flick of his hand, the Creation Brush appeared, and in the vast void, he swept it like ink, painting a colossal bow.

Joe Di stepped forward, taking an archer's stance. A Dao-resonance arrow landed on the giant bow in the void.

Bang! Hugh Yuen was blocked by Joe Di's law array banners in the void, his figure suddenly coming into clear view.

Before Hugh Yuen could break free, Joe Di's Dao-resonance arrow loosed from the giant bow, carrying endless killing intent through the void toward him. At that moment, the cosmos was filled with vast, gray death energy—life itself was snuffed out!

Twin Loom—life and death woven into endless gray. With a glance back, the bow is drawn north to shoot the celestial wolf.
