Evan Chu glanced at the newcomer and immediately recognized him as a late-stage Immortal Emperor powerhouse—he had to be the Phoenix King here. The Phoenix Clan’s numbers in Godfall Valley were limited, and Evan didn’t intend to press them too hard.
He promptly released Flora Firewing and said, "You must be the Phoenix King of this place. I’m letting her go—not because I fear you, but out of respect for someone else. You’d better get your facts straight."
"Who exactly are you? Why did you show up in Godfall Valley and attack the Tiger-Elephant Clan? I’m inclined to let you go, but you need to explain yourself. Otherwise, Godfall Valley will be a one-way trip for you," the middle-aged man declared.
"Hahaha! Old Phoenix, why are you treating this brat so politely? Just kill him and be done with it!" Several more figures swooped down from the sky.
Evan Chu glanced at the newcomers and instantly identified them as Dragon Clan. He smirked, "So, the Dragon Clan wants a piece of me too?"
"Kid, you dare call yourself ‘this palace’ in front of me, the king? Are you tired of living?" sneered a middle-aged man among them, whose own aura was late-stage Immortal Emperor.
"The king? You dare call yourself ‘the king’ in front of this palace? What a joke. I have no wish to harm either the Dragon Clan or the Phoenix Clan. Leave now, or face the consequences," Evan replied.
"Face the consequences? Who do you think you are, talking big in front of the king? Just for that, you’re dead today!" the Dragon King roared.
A massive pressure burst forth from him, bearing down on Evan—this was Dragon Might, the Dragon Clan’s signature skill. But it was useless against Evan; he was a nine-clawed Golden Dragon, while this middle-aged man was at best a six-clawed Golden Dragon.
If Evan unleashed his own Dragon Might, these guys would probably kneel on the spot. But he wasn’t in the mood—since he was here anyway, he might as well toy with them a bit and knock their arrogance down a peg. Let them learn not to judge by appearances.
