Finally Married Off

12/2/2025

Seven days later, May Parker's wedding took place as scheduled. Helen Parker swaggered over to Evans Manor to deliver the invitation, eager to show off the splendor of a wealthy family's wedding.

Lily Evans let out a cold laugh, tossed the invitation right back, and snapped, "We saw all the fuss when your scholar son got married last time. I bet this wedding will be just as 'spectacular.'"

Helen Parker, remembering how Lila Green had caused a scene at the last wedding and how Lily Evans had embarrassed her, left cursing and fuming.

On the wedding day, May Parker sported massive panda eyes that no amount of powder could hide. She spent her time in the bridal chamber furiously scolding Lily Evans and Jack Evans.

The grand wedding the Evans family had bragged about ended up as nothing more than a few tables set up in the Evans Manor courtyard.

From the Leo Family, only Howard Liu showed up as the groom, making the Evans family turn green with embarrassment. What kind of wedding has just one person from the groom’s side, not even a single elder?

Later, an older man arrived. Helen Parker assumed he was Howard Liu’s father, but it turned out he was just a minor steward from the Leo Family’s side house, not even the main steward.

May Parker was so frustrated—her dreams of a grand wedding were crushed. It wasn’t even as impressive as Simon Evans’s wedding! As the Leo Family’s new bride, she didn’t even get to set foot in their main house, and had to keep living at her own family’s place, feeling utterly out of place.

Naturally, May Parker blamed Lily Evans for all this, convinced that if Lily hadn’t snitched, she would’ve married into the Leo Family in grand style.

Still, at least the wedding was done, and the Evans family finally felt a weight lift off their hearts. They believed Howard Liu’s promise that once the restaurant fiasco blew over, May Parker would be welcomed into the Leo Family’s mansion.

But as days passed, May Parker’s face grew gloomier. Howard Liu never came home, and the Leo Family’s main house remained closed to her. She was stuck at Evans Manor, throwing tantrums and refusing to see anyone.

Helen Parker, seeing her daughter so miserable, started blaming Lily Evans again, saying Lily had ruined May’s future.

Lily Evans didn’t bother arguing. She simply focused on running the Vegetarian Bistro and minding her own business.

After the wedding, the Evans family was finally able to relax. No more daily drama—at least for now.

Mrs. Charlotte Evans brought Jack Evans over to Phoenix Academy to inquire about enrollment, hoping to give him a fresh start.

But the admissions director at Phoenix Academy was skeptical. "Jack Evans? The Evans family is in chaos these days, and your son’s reputation isn’t exactly spotless. Why should we take him in?"

Mrs. Charlotte Evans pleaded, "Jack is a good boy—he’s just been unlucky. Please give him a chance to study and prove himself."

The director hesitated. "We’ll consider it, but he’ll have to pass the entrance exam first."

Jack Evans’s face lit up with hope. He immediately started studying hard, determined to earn his place.

With the wedding finally behind them and Jack Evans focused on his studies, the Evans family could breathe a little easier—at least until the next storm rolled in.
