Overwhelming Difference in Strength

A torrent of powerful sword-qi came crashing toward Evan Chu, but he didn’t panic. In a flash, he used Shifting Position and slipped left, dodging the sudden attack with ease.

Still, Evan noticed that the black-clothed youth’s attack was terrifyingly strong. The sword-qi shook the space around him violently—clearly much fiercer than Victor Bai had ever been.

“Kid, is dodging all you know? If you only run, you’re dead for sure! Take this!” the black-clothed youth shouted at Evan, surprised that his attack had been dodged so quickly.

He swung his black longsword with all his might. Sword shadows filled the Duel Platform, cutting off every escape route. This time, dodging was impossible—Evan had no choice but to take the attack head-on.

A strange smile flashed across Evan’s face. He channeled Chaos Divine Power into his left hand, activating his Chaos Arm and unleashing Demon-Breaking Fist, aiming to shatter the black-clothed youth’s brutal strike with pure force.

White light flared from Evan’s fist as it smashed into the incoming sword shadows. The sword-qi mixed within was incredibly potent—using a fist to block sword-qi like this was almost unheard of unless your defense was monstrous. In the God Realm, scenes like this were rare.

Most spectators thought both fighters were insignificant, but even so, this clash was a rare spectacle. Many worried for Evan—after all, the gap in strength was huge, and there was also the issue of weapons.

Just as most people thought Evan would get hurt, something strange happened—the sword shadows attacking him were scattered by his punch, more than half shattered, and the fist-force kept driving toward the black-clothed youth. If he didn’t dodge, he’d get hit directly.

Of course, his black longsword would also strike Evan, making this a lose-lose exchange. But the black-clothed youth wasn’t about to get hit—there were plenty of chances to kill Evan, so why rush? He quickly darted back, evading Evan’s fist-force.

Seeing his attack fail to land, Evan retreated dozens of meters to steady himself. Neither side was hurt—this exchange was a draw.

“That kid really isn’t simple. The punch he just threw had at least early-stage God-King power. For a mid-stage God-Lord to unleash that kind of strength—it’s almost unbelievable.” Someone in the crowd blurted out.

“That black-clothed youth is clearly hiding his true power. If I’m not mistaken, he’s at least mid-stage God-King, just disguising it well. Looks like they’re out to kill Evan for real.” Another person chimed in.

The speaker was none other than the acting master of Heavenblade Sect, a late-stage God-Venerable who saw through the black-clothed youth’s real cultivation at a glance.

Evan heard this too, and he was annoyed—not because he feared the opponent, but because killing him would be tough. He couldn’t use Absolute Cleave, which cut down his attack power, and Ninefold Divine-Dragon Metamorphosis was off-limits too. All he had left were Heart-Sword and Windchaser Sword Art.

He regretted not learning more martial arts, but he wasn’t scared. Plenty of people knew he’d mastered the Light element, and if he wanted to kill the opponent, he’d have to rely on Light Transformation. If he hid his form and used Heaven Cleave, maybe no one would notice—but in the end, he’d still choose Heart-Sword.

“Blue-Shade, your little brother is really something. He’s only mid-stage God-Lord, but he can fight like an early-stage God-King. I bet that’s not even his full strength. Today’s show is getting interesting.” Mistress Rainveil said.

“Would you believe he was only early-stage God-Lord a few days ago? Now he’s mid-stage, and I’m sure he broke through inside VIP Room 28. But during the auction, he was bidding nonstop.

So that means he really broke through just yesterday or today. Advancing a whole sub-realm in one day—do you know what that means? A talent like this, I’d be an idiot not to befriend him.” Blue-Shade God-Venerable replied.

The two were speaking in secret sound transmission, so no one else could hear. But Mistress Rainveil’s face was full of suspicion—making her look even more beautiful, so much so that people couldn’t take their eyes off her.

“Looks like I need to build a good relationship with him too. Talents like this are rare—give him some time and he’ll be a powerhouse. Blue-Shade, I’ll need your help.” Mistress Rainveil said.

“That’s up to you. Isn’t your daughter about to host a Marriage Tournament? If he becomes your son-in-law, what’s the problem? This is your chance—whether you seize it or not is up to you.” Blue-Shade God-Venerable laughed.

At that moment, Dominic Bai shouted at the black-clothed youth on the Duel Platform, “What are you waiting for? You can’t even handle a mid-stage God-Lord? I can’t believe I raised you for nothing!”

Hearing Dominic’s voice, the black-clothed youth’s expression changed. A vicious light flashed in his eyes, and his aura surged—he revealed mid-stage God-King strength, stunning the whole arena.

Letting a mid-stage God-Lord fight a mid-stage God-King was like an egg smashing into a stone. Most spectators thought Evan was doomed—the black-clothed youth had just been hiding his power, but now he was going all out.

Evan wasn’t surprised by this—he’d sensed something was off from the start. He slowly drew the Snowbound Divine Sword from his Coiling-Dragon Ring.

When Lena Zhong realized the youth had mid-stage God-King power, she was shocked. Evan’s talent and strength were extraordinary, but with such a huge gap in realm, she genuinely wasn’t sure he could win.

“Father, with such a massive gap in strength, shouldn’t we help Evan? What if something goes wrong?” Lena Zhong asked Master Wan.

“Don’t worry, Lena. I believe he can handle it. If he can’t overcome this trial, he’s not worthy of Stormtower’s favor. Didn’t you see the Snowbound Divine Sword in his hand? Who would’ve thought Blue-Shade would give him his own sword?” Master Wan said calmly, though he was secretly stunned…
