Onto the Duel Platform

1/19/2026

"Kid, you really don't know the height of heaven and the depth of earth, do you? To dare say something so shameless—maybe you'll lose your life the moment you step onto the Duel Platform, and you still dream of other people lining up to challenge you? Keep dreaming!" Dominic Bai sneered.

Dominic Bai's words instantly drew a wave of laughter from the crowd. Back at the auction, everyone thought the owner of VIP Room 28 was some mysterious expert—after all, who else could have so many Violet Cloud Crystals and dare offend members of the Ten Great Powers? But now, seeing that he was just at the God-Lord realm, many people couldn't help but feel let down.

"Dominic Bai, you know better than anyone what you've done. Today you mock me in front of everyone—I'll remember this gift, and one day I'll return it to you in full. It's not that I'm afraid or timid, but my strength is lacking. In the eyes of you so-called powerhouses, I'm nothing but an ant; to kill me only takes a single move.

But tell me, what's the point? Is killing me just about stealing the treasures I won at auction? Sure, 'a man’s wealth is his own undoing,' but at least I bought those items fair and square with Violet Cloud Crystals. Everyone knows the law of the jungle, but this is Rainbow Court—if you have designs on me, at least wait until we're outside these walls.

Once we're out there, do whatever you want—whether I survive or not is my own business. Just know that accepting this challenge is already my biggest concession. I hope you won't keep pushing me. And let me put it bluntly: if I really wanted to leave, none of you could stop me, because I have the Ethereal Divine Shuttle." Evan Chu declared.

"Enough nonsense! Since you've accepted the challenge, head to the Duel Platform already. Maybe this will be the next big spectacle after the auction—the dark horse getting cut down on the Duel Platform might just become a new legend!" Dominic Bai laughed.

"Evan, how could you accept their challenge? They're obviously prepared for this—you're walking right into a trap. I say forget it. With my father and the Rainbow Court Mistress here, no one would dare touch you. Once the Marriage Tournament is over, just come back to Stormtower with me and you'll be safe." Lena Zhong urged.

"Don't worry, I'll be fine. If I really lose my life on the Duel Platform today, I won't have any regrets. Some things you just have to shoulder on your own. Lena, you don't need to say any more." Evan Chu replied.

"Evan, before the duel, I hope you'll remove your disguise and show everyone your true face. That way, after you die, people will remember you. Or do you think that once you take off your disguise, nobody will recognize you? Why cling to such wishful thinking?" Dominic Bai said at that moment.

Evan Chu wasn't stupid. If he removed his disguise, he might revert to his original appearance. He couldn't be sure how closely Lord Frostbane's real face resembled his own—if they were too similar, his true identity could be exposed. No matter what, he absolutely couldn't remove the disguise.

"My disguise is my business—what does it have to do with you? If you think there's no need to step onto the Duel Platform, then move aside. I haven't had my fill of Rainbow Court's fine wine yet; it's rare to be treated as a VIP, so I intend to enjoy it properly." Evan Chu said.

"Enough, Dominic Bai, stop making things difficult. If you're going to the Duel Platform, then go. I have plenty of matters to handle and not much time to waste here bickering with you." said the Rainbow Court Mistress.

At that moment, Blue-Shade God-Venerable from the Shadow Divine Palace walked over, studied Evan Chu closely, and said, "Little brother, your disguise technique was done by that girl, right? Even I couldn't recognize you. Your performance at the auction really took me by surprise."

Blue-Shade God-Venerable's words left everyone confused. This guy actually called that youth 'little brother' and referred to himself as 'old brother'? The boy's connections were way too complicated—everyone grew even more curious about his true identity.

"Old brother, your sharp eyes could naturally recognize me. I apologize for not visiting after arriving in Rainbow City—once today's business is settled, let's get thoroughly drunk together." Evan Chu laughed.

A look of disbelief flashed across Dominic Bai's face. He never expected this kid to be on brotherly terms with Blue-Shade God-Venerable. It was completely unexpected—not just Dominic, but members of all the major factions were stunned, finding it hard to believe what they were seeing.

"Alright, I'll be waiting. I want to see who actually dares to mess with you." Blue-Shade God-Venerable said with a half-smile.

It was obvious Blue-Shade God-Venerable had made his stance clear: whoever went against Evan Chu would be going against him. With Stormtower already intimidating enough, now the Shadow Divine Palace was backing him too. This mysterious youth's origins were simply too bizarre and special.

"Blue-Shade? How did he end up calling you his little brother? What's going on here?" The Rainbow Court Mistress asked Blue-Shade God-Venerable, her face full of doubt. Of course, she used a secret sound transmission to ask.

"I'll explain it to you later. For now, let's just watch this duel." Blue-Shade God-Venerable replied.

Soon, everyone arrived at the Duel Platform. News that the owner of VIP Room 28 was about to fight spread like wildfire through Rainbow Court, and the platform was packed with spectators. Everyone wanted to see just who this mysterious VIP was, and when they saw it was just an ordinary-looking young man, they were all stunned.

Standing on the Duel Platform, Evan Chu looked at Dominic Bai and said, "You're not planning to send both of them against me, are you? They're each a whole realm above me—are you really going for strength in numbers?"

Dominic Bai's face flushed. "Pick whichever of the two you want. I hope you'll be satisfied."

Evan Chu didn't want to draw too much attention. Today's events had already attracted the eyes of countless factions—if he killed both opponents on the Duel Platform, moving around the God Realm in the future would be even harder. Here, he couldn't use Sevenfold Absolute Cleave; his only option was to rely on the Demon-Breaking Fist.

"I'll take the one in black. Life and death are up to fate, riches are in the heavens. If I, Evan Chu, die here on the Duel Platform today, it's because my skills weren't good enough. Let this matter end here—I don't want anyone seeking revenge over this. If I somehow survive, I hope today's grudge is settled once and for all." Evan Chu said.

The youth in black flickered up onto the Duel Platform, glanced at Evan Chu, and said with a smile, "I'll let you live a few moments longer—make the most of it. If you have any last words, say them now, or you won't get another chance."

"Thanks for your concern. If we're talking last words, I do have a few. I wonder if you've settled down yet—if you die, who'll take care of your wife and kids? I'm not one for used goods, so while I'm giving my last words, maybe you should think things through too, lest you regret it later." Evan Chu laughed.

The youth in black was instantly enraged by Evan Chu's words. "You're too arrogant, kid! Today I'll show you what real regret feels like!" As he finished speaking, a black longsword appeared in his hand and he lunged at Evan Chu...
