Are You Even Worthy

The Jing Clan isn’t really considered a major house in the Lumina Realm.

Normally, they probably wouldn’t even get a spot in the camp.

Jumin Jing most likely only got in thanks to the Lu family’s connections.

Lucia Lu and her crew, thanks to their ties with Adrian, already had the camp totally figured out. Everyone crowded around, bombarding them with questions, and the siblings explained everything.

Where to check in, where to pick up your gear, what the housing is like—everything.

After they finished, they realized Luna Lian was nowhere to be found.

They tried calling her with a Messenger Charm, but got no response.

The siblings split up to look, and Lucia finally found her in a narrow hallway.

Her cousin Jumin Jing was holding her Messenger Charm, jabbing her forehead with his finger: "My mom clearly saw you signaling Lucia. Still won’t admit it? What did you say to her that made her reject the candidates our clan worked so hard to pick?"

Luna kept dodging his finger, but now that Jumin Jing was a High God, there was no way she could get away.

"Cousin, I really didn’t say anything to Lucia…" Luna Lian was hurting from his jabbing, almost in tears.

"Don’t call me cousin!" Jumin Jing looked at her with pure disgust. "Do you even know your own status? You think you’re qualified to call me cousin? Are you worthy?"

"You’re right! I’m not worthy to call you cousin, or even talk to you! Just give me back my Messenger Charm so I can leave!"

"This High God hasn’t given you permission to go—so where do you think you’re going?" Jumin Jing still refused to return the Messenger Charm. "Tell me! Why did she send back all the people we worked so hard to choose?"

Luna finally gave up on the Messenger Charm and turned to leave.

Jumin Jing lunged, reaching out viciously to drag her back.

But suddenly, his hand was struck with pain and he jerked it back.

Lucia Lu stepped into the passage, meeting Jumin Jing’s eyes. "High God Jumin, may I ask why you called my sister here and what you’re doing to her?"

Jumin Jing was momentarily flustered and stammered, "Lucia, I just called her over to ask something."

"Oh wow!" Lucia put on a theatrically overwhelmed face. "Cousin? How could we ever dare be the High God’s cousins? We’re not worthy!"

"What are you talking about? You’re my real cousin—Luna Lian is just an outsider—"

"Luna Lian is not an outsider!" Lucia Lu cut him off. "To me, you’re the outsider!"

Jumin Jing’s face went green, then white.

"High God, let me be clear: if you ever say or do anything rude to my sister again… don’t blame me for being rude to you!" She grabbed Luna and marched out.

She ignored Jumin Jing yelling after them.

Once they were alone, Lucia let go of Luna and glared at her, frowning.

Luna bit her lip, hung her head, twisted her robe—looking like a kid caught doing something wrong.

"How many times have I told you!" Lucia was so mad it hurt. "If someone dares to scold you, you scold them right back! If someone bullies you, you hit them back! You’re a Lu family daughter! What are you afraid of?"

"Sis…" Luna’s eyes went red. "I just can’t…"

Lucia got even angrier when she saw Luna like that. "Why not?"
