Farewell Before Departure

2/14/2026

Back then, Evan Yang was nearly struck by this mirror. Now, as Patriarch Fenn, he knows the Nine-Color Mirror only has three uses left—each activation consumes one. After using it once just now, only two chances remain.

He must complete the qualification process within these last two chances.

So Patriarch Fenn always counterattacks with his strongest power. When a powerful attacker was killed by the Nine-Color Mirror, the crowd gradually shifted their focus to the other two qualifiers who lacked artifacts.

Those two were doomed—soon enough, Patriarch Fenn stood alone in a corner, holding the Nine-Color Mirror.

“Why does this artifact crack so much after just one use?” Evan Yang muttered to himself as he noticed the lines spreading across the mirror.

As Evan Yang was muttering, the two artifact-less qualifiers really couldn't hold out. They were soon overwhelmed, triggering another wave of pursuit and slaughter.

“This place is practically a slaughterhouse for Pseudo-Immortal experts.” Evan Yang observed the situation. If things kept going like this, anyone outside who wanted to enter the Immortal Realm would try to find a way, seize an opportunity, and fight for those two qualification beams.

Endless fighting turns this place into a graveyard for Pseudo-Immortal experts.

Evan Yang glanced around and found that many people were still eyeing Patriarch Fenn.

Seeing Patriarch Fenn holding the artifact, Evan Yang remembered how he was nearly injured by it years ago. He’d already planned not to let Patriarch Fenn walk away so easily—if possible, he’d destroy the Nine-Color Mirror as well.

But right now, he wanted to wait until Fiend Palace and Flower Fairy finished their qualifications before making his move.

Time slowly passed. The first to finish absorbing the qualification light was Flower Fairy; her whole being underwent a complete transformation.

"Thank you," Flower Fairy said to Evan Yang with a smile.

Evan Yang smiled back, "Now I don’t owe you anything."

"You..." Flower Fairy was at a loss for words, while the people waiting outside Hundred-Bloom Palace grew excited, even calling out Flower Fairy’s name.

When Evan Yang heard the woman was Flower Fairy, he exclaimed, "You’re the Hundred-Bloom Palace Lord? Flower Fairy?"

"That’s right." Flower Fairy smiled when she saw Evan Yang finally realized.

"You really hid your identity well. If they hadn’t called out your name in excitement, I’d still have no idea who you were." Evan Yang sighed helplessly, feeling deeply grateful. It turned out the person he met last time was a fake—no wonder they felt so odd, not like a true palace lord.

"I told you to investigate for yourself, but I didn’t expect them to blurt it out today," Flower Fairy said with a smile.

"So that incident last time, you were behind it?" Evan Yang asked.

"Mm, that's right. The one you met last time was just my maid," Flower Fairy replied.

"Thank you," Evan Yang said after a brief pause, smiling.

"We’re even now. I hope you succeed, too. If you need anything, just call me—I’ll be waiting outside," Flower Fairy said.

Evan Yang nodded. Flower Fairy returned to the crowd, who looked at her with envy. Even if anyone wanted to steal her chance now, it was too late—she was already officially recognized as an Immortal Realm entrant. Once the Immortal Gate Hall vanished, all qualified would be transported to another place.

That place is called the Immortal Realm.

After a while, the three from Fiend Palace finished as well. Smiling, they bid farewell from inside. The Fiend Palace Lord also told Evan Yang, "If you need anything, just let me know. We'll be waiting outside."

This was clearly a signal to Evan Yang that it was time to act.

At that moment, Patriarch Fenn was about to finish as well, but Evan Yang made his move—a flying needle shot out instantly.

Patriarch Fenn was shocked. "Didn't we have an understanding?" he cried.

"Because your artifact reminded me of something," Evan Yang replied.

"Reminded you of what?" Patriarch Fenn asked in confusion, glancing at his artifact.

Evan Yang smiled and projected an image in front of Patriarch Fenn. When he saw someone being bounced away by his own artifact, Patriarch Fenn snorted, "I know that was your friend, but you can’t just attack me for it!"

"I don’t need to do it myself—others will," Evan Yang said with a small smile.

Then Evan Yang called out to those still fighting for the last two slots, "Let me do you all a favor. I’ll keep him busy—you guys go fight for it!"

"Really?" the people inside exclaimed, while those still outside looked surprised.

"Absolutely," Evan Yang replied. He pulled out another flying needle—he didn’t want to fight up close, worried the artifact might rebound and injure him again like before.

Once Evan Yang really used the flying needle to pin down Patriarch Fenn, the crowd was overjoyed. Soon, several people surrounded Patriarch Fenn.

Patriarch Fenn now had to defend against both Evan Yang’s sneak attacks and the others, cursing inwardly, "Damn it!"

With so many enemies, Patriarch Fenn was struggling—he couldn’t use the artifact freely, and only had two activations left.

There were just too many attackers. Patriarch Fenn couldn’t hold out—he was wounded by Evan Yang’s flying needle, and then by the others.
