The Third Time

Evan Xiao didn't quite understand what she meant at first.

"To reach the Spirit Lord realm, I need your Dragon Essence... for the third time." Chloe Zhu said, her cheeks flushing a little.

"Third time? What third time?" Crown Prince Evan Xiao was still pretty clueless after forgetting about her.

"Ahem! I borrowed your Dragon Essence before, and my spiritual root was reborn," Chloe Zhu explained. "But I need the divine power from the first three times to break through my cultivation!"

Evan Xiao frowned at her.

This woman is such a perv!

She actually said that to him?

"We've already done it twice," Chloe Zhu said. "I need your help for the third time—"

"Don't even think about it! Not. Happening!" Evan Xiao cut her off loudly, leaving no room for argument.

Chloe Zhu looked up at him. "Your Highness, if I don't advance to the Spirit Lord realm, those words will be branded on you forever! Every time you get excited... they'll show up."

Evan Xiao's whole demeanor turned dark, and he said nothing.

Just imagine—if your future wives see those words, talk about a mood killer!

They might not even want to touch you!

They might not even be able to go through with it!

Seeing Evan Xiao's face darken like a thundercloud, Chloe Zhu backed up a few steps and said, "So, if you want those words gone for good, just hold out a little longer. When I hit peak Spirit Master, you can... give me a hand—"

Before she could finish, Evan Xiao suddenly grabbed Chloe Zhu by the throat, his voice colder than ice: "I've never met a woman as brazen and shameless as you."

Choking again...

Chloe Zhu's breathing grew difficult as she clawed at his hand. "Why do you always choke me? A day's marriage should mean a hundred days of kindness. Are you trying to strangle your own wife?"

"I think killing you might make it disappear even faster!" Evan Xiao tightened his grip.

Whether in the past or now, Grace has never been able to fight back against him.

She struggled for a moment, but couldn't break free, so she gave up and just looked at him with big, pitiful eyes. "Too bad... Only I know how to cure my mom's Winterbane Poison..."

Evan Xiao's heart skipped a beat, and he loosened his grip. "What?"

"Don't tell me you've forgotten that too?" Grace asked. "That prophecy: 'The Divine Realm will fall, the Divine Throne will topple, the Phoenix Heiress will reveal her true self, trading a million years for peace across the seas?'"

Of course he hadn't forgotten that prophecy!

He seemed to remember something important and loosened his grip a bit more.

"The 'Phoenix Maiden' in the prophecy is my mom. She's been poisoned by Winterbane, and only I can cure her," Chloe Zhu said. "If you've forgotten, you can ask Leon Zane and Shannon."

Evan Xiao had a feeling she was telling the truth.

He finally let her go.

Chloe Zhu cleared her throat and said seriously, "Relax, Your Highness. It won't take long. I'm already at Spirit Master Tier Three. A few more pills and some hard training and I'll be at the top!"

Evan Xiao took a deep breath.

What kind of bad luck did he have to end up with a woman like this?

She even cooked up such a wild scheme, just to get him into bed.

And yet, he couldn't even kill her.

He took a deep breath, and suddenly flashed out a sharp dagger. "If you can't get rid of it, I'll do it myself!"

With that, he raised the dagger, about to slice off the part of his chest with those words.
