Evan Yang paused for a moment, then smiled and said, "Elder Lewis, I'm just a minor figure myself. I really don't know what I'm supposed to do."
"Minor? If anyone calls you minor, I'll take it up with them!" Elder Lewis laughed after hearing Evan Yang say that.
"Elder Lewis, it's not that exaggerated. If I really have any ideas, it's just to lure out that Devil Realm Emissary and settle things once and for all. That's the only way to prevent this from happening again. Otherwise, he'll keep acting in the shadows, and with so many people around, it's hard to guard against him." Evan Yang said.
"Do you have any way to do that?" Elder Lewis shared the same thought. Otherwise, every time something like this happened, it would be a headache. The five-li halo only worked on those with demonic qi or puppet marks; if the control was by other means, it really wouldn't help.
"Let's wait until we find that person. Hopefully, we can get the answers we want from him." Evan Yang said.
Elder Lewis nodded.
Back at Yvonne Darkmoon's place, she looked around and found her father missing. Worried, she asked, "Where's my dad?"
"Don't worry, your dad went to handle something," Elder Lewis said.
"What exactly happened? Why did you all leave for so long?" Yvonne Darkmoon asked, nodding after hearing Elder Lewis's words.
Elder Lewis briefly explained the situation, though most of it was about Evan Yang taking the lead.
Yvonne Darkmoon looked at Evan Yang again, suspicion in her eyes. "You're really a freak. You can do everything—it's like there's nothing you can't do."
"That could be taken the wrong way," Evan Yang said with a helpless smile.
"Fine, from now on, I'll just call you 'Freak,'" Yvonne teased.
Elder Lewis coughed, "How can you say that? He's a genius of our Immortal Realm—we'll need him to carry the flag in the future."
Yvonne Darkmoon laughed. "What's the big deal? It's just a nickname. I think it's pretty good."
Evan Yang could only smile helplessly. Just then, Damien Darkmoon returned from outside. As soon as he walked in, he said, "Found him."
"Where?" Elder Lewis asked excitedly.
"He's being arrested right now, and he's from Ethereal Sanctuary. I've already contacted Nangong Palace Lord—he'll come over to help identify him," Damien Darkmoon said.
When Evan Yang heard the suspect was from Ethereal Sanctuary, he was momentarily stunned. But after snapping back, he followed everyone outside, wanting to see who this person really was.
After a short while, the group arrived at a dense thicket, now surrounded by people on all sides.
In the very center of the crowd, a man was struggling to stay upright, staring back at everyone.
After Evan Yang and the others arrived, Nangong Palace Lord and Terry Yang also showed up.
"I'll go take him down first," Elder Lewis said, then flashed behind the man. The man spun around, trying to attack Elder Lewis, but he was badly wounded and his soul was damaged, so his strength and accuracy were lacking. Elder Lewis easily dodged, then stepped forward and struck him, making his condition even worse.
This man was none other than Drake Long. He had been healing his wounds, but unexpectedly was discovered. After a dispute broke out, more people showed up, leading to the current scene.
Now lying on the ground, Drake Long glared at everyone and said, "If any of you come closer, I'll kill myself."
Everyone stopped in their tracks, but Evan Yang didn't. He flashed to the side of the heavily injured Drake Long and sealed his entire body before Drake could react.
"You—you!" Drake Long stared at Evan Yang in shock and anger, realizing he couldn't gather any power in his body.
Seeing that Drake Long was immobilized, Elder Lewis was relieved. At that moment, Damien Darkmoon called Nangong Palace Lord over and asked, "This man is one of yours, right?"
Nangong Palace Lord looked at the man and confirmed he was indeed one of theirs, but asked in confusion, "I don't know what crime he's committed—why arrest him like this?"
Seeing that Nangong Palace Lord was still unclear about the situation, Damien Darkmoon explained everything. After hearing it, Nangong Palace Lord asked suspiciously, "So you're saying he's been controlled by the Devil Realm Emissary?"
"That's right," Damien Darkmoon replied.
This person was insignificant in Ethereal Sanctuary, so Nangong Palace Lord didn't argue much. But Terry Yang spoke up with a smile, "Do you have any evidence?"
No one expected Terry Yang to speak up at this moment. In fact, he was mainly targeting Evan Yang; he didn't want Evan to become powerful, nor did he want such a talented genius to exist—and he especially didn't want Evan to become the center of attention.
"What evidence do you need? We all saw it with our own eyes," Damien Darkmoon said.
"All of us? Who exactly? Emperor Damien, Elder Lewis? Or this kid Evan Yang?" Terry Yang said.
His words were full of hostility, and Evan Yang hadn't expected Terry Yang to say something like that at this moment.
"Do you expect him to admit himself that he's controlled by the Devil Realm Emissary?" Elder Lewis retorted.
"Not really. But we're all inside this halo, aren't we? Isn't it supposed to drive out devils? Yet now you say he's one. If that's true, he should've already been expelled as a puppet." Terry Yang laughed.
Others started discussing, thinking it made sense. Was the halo no longer effective? If this kept going, trouble was bound to happen, so Elder Lewis quickly explained, "He's not a puppet—he's controlled by other means."
"No evidence—how are we supposed to believe you?" Terry Yang said.
