Straying into the Monster Fish’s Domain
"Kid, I finally caught you!" Lora Luo cursed inwardly. Evan Yang, who had been inspecting the sword, sensed killing intent at the doorway, turned his head, and saw the same cyan-robed woman from before. He laughed, "You managed to chase me here? That's fast enough." "Kid, let's see where you run this time!" Lora Luo said angrily.
"There are so many people here—are you really planning to make a move in this place?" Evan Yang asked.
Lora Luo glanced around. There were indeed a lot of people here, including ordinary folks. After Evan's reminder, her heart softened a bit.
Seeing Lora Luo hesitate for a moment, Evan realized she wasn't truly ruthless. Still, since she was determined to kill him today, he couldn't let his guard down. With nothing to lose, he decided to play with her a bit more.
"If you've got the guts, come somewhere else and duel me one-on-one!" Lora Luo snorted coldly.
"Oh? That's exactly what I want. Follow me then." Evan Yang smiled.
With that, Evan stood up, left Immortal Source on the table to pay, and slipped away. Seeing Evan slip out again, Lora Luo hurried after him, "Don't run so fast!"
"If you've got what it takes, just come after me." Evan Yang laughed.
Evan continued ahead, searching for the nearest teleportation array, with Lora Luo naturally following closely behind.
Soon, the two left the city. Before long, they arrived at another unknown planet. To their dismay, this planet was covered entirely in water.
It was basically a giant water ball. Seeing water everywhere around the teleportation array, Evan Yang clicked his tongue, "Why is this place all water?"
Lora Luo, emerging behind him, also noticed the situation. Seeing the scene, she laughed, "Looks like you're out of luck today!"
"Oh? Why's that?" Evan Yang floated in midair, avoiding the water, and asked curiously.
"Because I'm a water-attribute cultivator." Lora Luo grinned, and as she spoke, a stream of water shot up from beneath Evan.
"Interesting, but I'm fire-attribute." Evan Yang smiled.
A moment later, Evan was surrounded by a blaze of fire.
"Fire? Ridiculous. Don't you know water puts out fire!" Lora Luo laughed.
"Don't you know fire can also devour water?" Evan Yang chuckled.
"That would only work if your fire is way stronger than my water. I don't think you can manage that." Lora Luo said confidently.
With that, water continued to surge upward from below, rushing toward Evan Yang.
At this moment, Evan was surrounded by water. Thanks to his protective flames, he was unharmed, but the water seemed inexhaustible, constantly rising from below.
"Lucky this place is all water. If I had to make my own, I wouldn't last long." Lora Luo muttered. At the same time, she was curious about Evan Yang—his flames were so powerful they could evaporate all the water.
Steam surrounded Evan Yang on all sides.
"Damn it, let's see how long you can hold out." Lora Luo shouted, crazily controlling the water.
Water kept surging up from below, charging straight at Evan Yang.
Evan Yang muttered inwardly, "Are we really going to keep this up forever?"
Just as Evan Yang was about to find a way to break the deadlock, a faint sound drifted over. The noise was subtle—Evan caught it with his Thousand-Mile Echo, but Lora Luo didn't notice a thing.
"Strange, what's that sound?" Evan Yang wondered.
The sound was getting closer and closer. Lora Luo, meanwhile, had no idea there was anything dangerous lurking beneath the water.
Suddenly, a whirlpool appeared not far behind Lora Luo. It grew larger and larger, and when Lora finally sensed something was wrong, she looked back—her face changed dramatically.
A massive creature resembling a fish slowly emerged from the whirlpool. It had horns growing from its head, and its whiskers on both sides were long and razor-sharp.
The two whiskers swayed as the monster glared at Lora Luo. "Damn humans, how dare you disturb my peace? I'm going to eat you."
With a swipe of its whiskers, sharp air blades appeared in the air and shot straight at Lora Luo.
Lora Luo was shocked and quickly stopped attacking Evan, conjuring a water shield in front of her.
But the water shield shattered instantly.
"Damn humans, take this!" the monster fish said, unleashing several more air blades with enough force to scrape space itself.
Terrified, Lora Luo cast even thicker water shields, but they still couldn't withstand the attack. The sound of shattering glass echoed, followed by a thunderous crash.
"Ah!" Lora Luo was struck by the remaining air blades, her body slashed open in many places. The pain was so intense she fainted.
She collapsed into the water, which quickly turned red around her.
Evan Yang immediately noticed the situation. In a flash, he scooped up Lora Luo and tried to escape via the teleportation array, but before he could reach it, the monster fish destroyed the array.
"Let's see where you run now," the monster fish said.
"You've already become a spirit beast. I apologize for disturbing you today, but is it really necessary to kill us?" Evan Yang said.
"Kill you? Hah! Only ignorant kids say such things. Anyone who comes here dies," the monster fish said.
Evan Yang really couldn't understand why such a dangerous place had a teleportation array. He wondered who set it up.
"Die!" the monster fish said as Evan Yang was lost in thought.
Evan Yang tried to leap into the sky, but something blocked him—he couldn't get out.
"Don't waste your energy. Those hateful humans sealed the upper space to trap me," the monster fish said.
Evan Yang realized the monster fish had been sealed here by cultivators. Now there was no way up and no way down—he could only dive into the water with Lora Luo.
"Going underwater? You think you can beat me in my own domain? Ridiculous!" the monster fish clicked its tongue, then swam into the water.
It was the king of the water. It let out a strange call, summoning countless fish of all sizes, all under its control and searching for Evan Yang.
Evan Yang quickly noticed something was wrong—many fish were blocking his way, and each had some real combat strength.
"This is a trap. Who set up this teleportation array? If I'd known, I wouldn't have come," Evan Yang grumbled.
But there was no time to complain. Evan Yang tried to shake off the fish, even using his ice-fire to clear a path.
The surrounding water froze. The monster fish quickly caught up to Evan Yang, but the ice blocked its way, forcing it to detour.
"Hopefully the ice will slow it down," Evan Yang muttered to himself.
Evan Yang didn't dare to stop, kept searching for an exit. After a while, he found the waters below packed with fish, so he flew out of the water.
He scanned the surroundings, hoping to find another teleportation array.
But there was nothing. Evan Yang was out of options. Just then, the monster fish leapt up from below and swallowed him before he could dodge.
"Haha, after eating you, let's see who's still arrogant," the monster fish said, then dove back into the water to rest.
Evan Yang and Lora Luo were now protected by a layer of spiritual light.
"It's really stinky inside this thing," Evan Yang grumbled.
Evan Yang came up with an idea and broke open the monster's belly, but Lora Luo had already lost too much blood and her face was pale.
Evan Yang sighed, "Well, I did bring you here. Let me treat you first."
Evan Yang found a spot inside the monster and flashed into a tower embedded in one corner of its body.
The monster had no idea what the two were doing inside, but it knew that in a few days, Evan and Lora would be digested by its internal fluids.
Evan Yang ignored all that. He knew his tower was powerful and wasn't afraid to be inside the monster. Right now, he was treating Lora Luo's wounds.
Lora Luo felt miserable, as if she was about to die, but her soul was unharmed. She saw Evan Yang saving her, but her body wouldn't listen to her. Otherwise, she would never let Evan help.
"Get your hands off me," Lora Luo cursed inwardly as Evan Yang examined her, but she couldn't speak, feeling numb in some places.
Evan Yang couldn't hear her thoughts. After checking her injuries, he began to treat them.
Lora Luo could only watch as Evan Yang treated her wounds, angry and surprised. "Why doesn't he just kill me?" she wondered.
Lora Luo didn't understand why Evan Yang was saving her. If he killed her, he wouldn't have to worry about her chasing him.
Evan Yang wasn't afraid of Lora Luo. He was just joking with her and had no intention of letting her die.
About half an hour later, Lora Luo started to regain feeling and said weakly, "Get your hands off me."
"You're awake?" Evan Yang smiled as he let go.
"You... you pervert," Lora Luo said.
"Me, a pervert? Why is it that every time I save someone, they call me a pervert?" Evan Yang sighed.
"You are a pervert," Lora Luo said, dragging her heavy body. Her wound reopened from the exertion.
Seeing her like that, Evan Yang said, "You should save your strength, or your wound will really tear open."
"I don't need your help. Where are we? Let me out! I want to fight you one-on-one!" Lora Luo said angrily.
"You still want to duel? In your condition, I could beat you with one finger," Evan Yang said, thinking Lora Luo was even more stubborn than Hannah Nangong.
Lora Luo glared, "Who says I'm injured? I'm fine!" But as soon as she stood up, she collapsed again.
Evan Yang laughed, "This is what you call fine?"
"You..." Lora Luo hated her own body for not cooperating.
"If you still want to kill me, you'll have to wait until you're healed, right? Can't you just hold on and let me treat you first? I won't run," Evan Yang said.
"You really won't run?" Lora Luo asked.
"Absolutely not. Can I treat you now?" Evan Yang asked.
"Fine, but you have to stay at least one meter away from me," Lora Luo said after thinking for a moment.
"One meter away? Why?" Evan Yang had no idea what rule this was.
"My master said men and women should keep their distance. You touched me just now, and that's against the rules. Now that I'm awake, you have to stay one meter away, or I won't let you treat me," Lora Luo said stubbornly.
