Irene Xu looked excited as she dragged Evan Lin, breaking through the crowd toward the heart of the stone-gambling yard.
"Evan, this is going to be huge! Do you know what Master Zane Zheng just opened? A piece of Chancellor Jade! I heard that one stone like that is worth over ten million!"
At this point, Irene was practically jumping for joy. "And Wade Wei brought fifteen million, but he hasn't spent a single cent yet. He's won every round, and the other side keeps paying for the stones!"
Soon, Irene and Evan found themselves right in the middle of the crowd.
There, an open space had been cleared. On it stood piles of rough stones in all shapes and sizes, with a big scale set up beside them for weighing.
At that moment, Wade Wei was standing with Lei Zi and the sharp-featured Master Zane Zheng. In his hands, he was weighing a crystal-clear jade, about half the size of a human head, sparkling in the light and impossible to miss.
"So, Boss Zhou, want to keep going?" Wade Wei said proudly. "I told you before I came in, my buddy Master Zheng here is a real gambling-stone pro—even opened Law Seeds before!"
"No need to rush, Wade," Harold Zhou replied unhurriedly. "There's still plenty of time, and you've already won so much. If you're having fun in my yard, that's a blessing for me too."
