A Different Stone-Gambling Rule

Several security guards rushed forward, blocking Evan Lin’s way, while another went to check on Ren Song’s condition. Seeing Ren Song foaming at the mouth, the guard looked a little disgusted.

"This is White Crane Manor! Not a place for punks like you to act tough!"

The head security guard stared coldly at Evan Lin.

"He asked me to hit him. I just gave him what he wanted—wanted to show off, so I obliged." Evan Lin said coolly.

As soon as Evan spoke, the bystanders immediately chimed in to support him.

"Yeah, that’s right! I can vouch for him!"

"It was that guy lying on the ground who asked this young man to hit him!"

"He even shouted, ‘Use your fist, hit my chest as hard as you can!’ I swear, I heard it!"

A few tourists who were nearby spoke up too—they’d seen everything clearly.

"So he told you to hit him, and you just did it? Now look at him—what are you going to do about this mess?" The security chief was getting a headache listening to everyone and didn’t know how to handle it.

"Do whatever you want. If you’re not convinced, I can take all of you on." Evan Lin replied, totally unfazed.

"You’ve got some nerve! Who do you think you are?"

The security chief’s face twisted in anger. With a shout, the guards behind him all whipped out their short batons.

The security team at White Crane Manor weren’t just random hires—they all had real skills. Ordinary folks didn’t even qualify for the job.

With so many guards brandishing batons, the atmosphere turned downright intimidating.

Just moments ago, the tourists had been cheering Evan on. Now, seeing the guards ready to fight, they all shuffled backward—nobody wanted to get dragged into this and catch a beating for nothing.

Evan was about to step forward and make a move when, not far away, a middle-aged man in a suit hurried over.

"What’s all this racket? Can’t you see today’s the day Master Baiyun is coming?" The man shoved aside the guards blocking his way, strode into the crowd, and looked around with authority.

"Hey, that’s Manager Ren from White Crane Manor."

"Manager Ren’s kid just got beat up, and now he’s here himself. That guy’s really in trouble now."

“Master Baiyun is coming? No way, isn’t he that legendary Mystic Arts Adept?”

Everyone started whispering and turned to stare this way.

Manager Ren turned and saw Ren Song lying on the ground, foaming at the mouth. His face darkened instantly. He glared at Ren Qiang standing nearby and demanded, "What happened?"

Uncle, it was this guy who beat up my cousin like that!

Seeing Manager Ren arrive, Ren Qiang immediately turned and glared at Evan Lin with resentment.

Manager Ren looked Evan Lin up and down. "Who are you? Why did you beat my son like that? What did he do to provoke you?"

"Your son begged me to hit him," Evan Lin replied coolly.

"What did you say!" Manager Ren exploded in anger. "Do you take me for a fool? Who would ever beg someone to hit them!"

"Manager Ren... it really did seem like your son begged him to hit," one of the guards whispered awkwardly.

Manager Ren froze for a moment, his face turning pale and then flushed as he heard faint laughter from the crowd.

After all, it was his own son who got beaten. Just as Manager Ren was about to say something, a shout of amazement came from the other side: "Whoa! They just opened a piece of Chancellor Jade!"

"It really is Chancellor Jade! Look at that quality—this has to be worth at least ten million!"

"The guy Wade Wei brought today is like a legend!" someone exclaimed.

Voices of surprise rang out from the other side. Someone broke through the crowd, hurrying over, looking a bit anxious. He quickly spotted Manager Ren standing near Evan Lin and rushed to his side, speaking urgently.

"Manager Ren, Young Master Zhou wants you to come steady the field! Wade Wei’s Master Zheng just opened a piece of Chancellor Jade!" the man called.

The man shouted anxiously.

Manager Ren’s face changed instantly. "Chancellor Jade?"

The reason he got this manager job was his stone-gambling skill. The Zhou family brought him in to steady the field. In the past, VIPs at the stone yard didn’t just gamble on stones—they wanted to bet big.

This time, Wade Wei brought Master Zheng to gamble on stones—not just for the stones, but for a real showdown.

In other words, it’s a contest to see which family can open the best jade from a pile of rough stones. The loser not only pays for the winner’s stones, but also hands over whatever they find.

Wade Wei only brought fifteen million, so he could only buy about a hundred kilos of stone here. But Master Zane Zheng, that sharp-faced guy at his side, kept scoring big—outshining the Zhou family every time.

Young Master Zhou is in a bad mood now. This time, Manager Ren, you’ve got to step in!

Seeing Manager Ren still hesitating, the man added another line.

Kid, you got lucky today! Don’t let me see you again. Take my advice and get lost while you can! Manager Ren shot Evan Lin a hateful look, then told the others to take Ren Song to the hospital.

Then Manager Ren hurried off with his people toward the crowd.

Lynn Chen’s face was full of mixed emotions. She walked up to Evan Lin, steeling herself to ask, "Did you come here just to find me?"

But before she could speak, a woman on the other side waved at Evan Lin. "Evan!"

Hearing the voice, Lynn Chen paused and turned. She saw a tall, fair-skinned woman hurrying over, looking worried. "I thought you’d gotten lost! I’ve been searching for you forever!"

Irene Xu frowned. "Don’t run off again, okay? If you do, I won’t be able to explain it to Stella Huang when we get back!"

By the way, something exciting’s happening over there—come with me!

Irene Xu, still excited, grabbed Evan Lin’s hand and dragged him off toward the crowd.

Lynn Chen’s face instantly turned cold as she watched.

Damn you, Evan! Stupid Evan! All you ever do is chase girls and hang out with them! Go to hell!

Fuming, Lynn Chen spun around and stalked off. And to think she’d believed Evan came here just for her—what a humiliation!

Disgusting!

Lynn Chen stomped her foot, walked a few steps, then glanced back. She couldn’t spot Evan Lin in the crowd, and a wave of emptiness swept through her. She felt utterly drained and wronged.
