Mrs. Jiang's face finally softened when she heard Cici's explanation.
Mrs. Jiang nodded and said, "The daughters of the Yun family really do have good character."
Cici just smiled.
"Eric... he's a stubborn one. If you have time, try to talk some sense into him." Mrs. Jiang rubbed her temples, looking troubled.
"Um... yes, Madam," Cici replied obediently.
"If you can persuade Eric, it would be best if he married soon." Mrs. Jiang gazed deeply at Cici.
Cici gave a wry smile. "I think so too. After all, it's been five years since my sister passed away. The dead can't come back, and I'm sure my sister would want Eric Jiang to live happily. I'll do my best—he really is at the age to settle down. He and Charles Yin are the same age, and I already have a child with Charles Yin..." Cici spoke from the heart, but as she reached this point, she realized it was inappropriate and gave an embarrassed smile.
But Mrs. Jiang looked even more satisfied.
Looks like this whole thing is just that stubborn boy being the only one worked up about it!
"Hearing you say that puts my mind at ease." Mrs. Jiang looked at Cici with gentle eyes. "You and Charles Yin should reconcile soon. A family is only truly a family when everyone is together and happy."
Suddenly, Cici remembered the scene of the two of them walking side by side earlier, and she couldn't help but blush again.
Here, one was deliberately testing, while the other was unintentionally trying to distance herself.
In the room, Eric Jiang said to Charles, "You want to take Cici to Japan?"
"Cici mentioned before that she wanted to see the flower fields in Hokkaido. She was pregnant back then and couldn't travel far, but now she finally has the chance." Charles smiled softly.
Eric Jiang quickly lowered his gaze, hiding the fleeting emotions in his eyes. "Yeah, this is the perfect season for flowers. I wonder if the cherry blossoms have already faded."
Charles smiled silently. "If you want to see cherry blossoms, then just plant a whole grove of them."
"By the way, how is she?" Eric Jiang couldn't help but ask about Helen Jiang. "Will she die?"
"Feeling soft-hearted, cousin?" Charles asked calmly in return.
"Of course not." Eric Jiang gave a bitter smile. "Three years ago, the Jiang family did Cici wrong. She was kicked out long ago, and for someone to hurt her like this—if it were me, I wouldn't forgive her either! But you said you wanted to give Cici a chance to get revenge herself, so..."
"Exactly. Don't worry, cousin. I won't let her die too easily." Charles replied nonchalantly, as if he were talking about the weather.
Eric Jiang was silent for a moment, then forced a smile. "She brought this on herself."
Charles glanced out the window at Mrs. Jiang and Cici, who were chatting, and his eyes lit up.
"It's been so long, cousin. You should let it go." Charles clasped his hands behind his back, his eyes deep and unreadable.
Eric Jiang understood what Charles meant, and his expression changed slightly as he slowly lowered his head. "Even you think I should..."
"People have to look forward." Charles' eyes flickered as he looked at Eric Jiang's dejected appearance. "Aunt is really worried about you. Naturally, I hope you're well too."
"Just give me a little more time," Eric Jiang sighed softly.
In the end, he still couldn't let go...
Rona Muir held her wine glass, happily chatting with a young and successful tycoon from the paper industry. Suddenly, Sean Kerr's deep voice sounded from the side: "Sorry, may I speak with this lady privately for a moment?"
The paper tycoon saw it was Sean Kerr and instantly suppressed his displeasure, answering respectfully, "Of course, Mr. Kerr. Please go ahead!"
He wouldn't dare offend anyone from the Kerr Family, so he quickly turned and left.
The moment Rona Muir heard Sean Kerr, her body stiffened and she instinctively turned to leave.
Sean Kerr reached out and grabbed Rona Muir's wrist. "How long are you planning to keep running away?"
Rona Muir instinctively tried to pull her wrist free, but Sean Kerr simply dragged her out of the hall and straight into the lounge.
Before Rona Muir could react, Sean Kerr pressed her against the wall in a sudden kabedon.
"What do you think you're doing!" Rona Muir snapped. "This is the Yin Family's house—aren't you afraid of causing a scene and embarrassing everyone?"
The anger on Sean Kerr's handsome face faded instantly, replaced by helplessness. "You'd rather laugh and chat with other men than say a word to me, or even look at me?"
Rona Muir bit her lip and turned her head away, refusing to look at him.
"Rona, I was wrong." Sean Kerr apologized sincerely. "I really know I was wrong! All these years, I've been atoning for my mistakes. I promised you I wouldn't look for you for five years, but I just couldn't help myself... Rona, I may have been a jerk before, but you know I'm not a player. Once I commit to someone, it's for life!"
Rona Muir's expression softened a little at Sean Kerr's apology, but she snorted coldly. "Now you want to apologize? Don't you think it's a little late?"
"I've taken control of the family now. If I want to be with you, no one can stop me." Sean Kerr said seriously. "It took me three years, but I've finally earned my grandfather's approval. The Kerr Family is in my hands now."
"So what?" Rona Muir sneered. "I'm still just the daughter of a penniless professor—I'll never be good enough for your prestigious family!"
"Rona!" Sean Kerr cried out in pain. "Can you please stop stabbing me in the heart? I'll apologize on behalf of my mother for what she said back then!"
Rona Muir shifted her gaze, looking at Sean Kerr's slightly haggard face.
Sean Kerr was never as strong as Charles Yin, and for him to come this far for her had been no easy feat.
Rona Muir felt a tangle of emotions in her heart—she couldn't even say what she really felt about Sean Kerr at that moment.

Although three years ago, she really didn't feel anything for him.
But over the past three years, Sean Kerr's persistence has stirred up a different kind of feeling in her.
Rona Muir was a strong-willed woman. She couldn't stand being looked down upon, especially by her future mother-in-law.
If she couldn't get along with her mother-in-law, even if she ended up with Sean Kerr, it would only be a tragic ending.
If it's destined to be a tragedy, then it's better not to start at all.
Rona Muir couldn't bring herself to be cold to a man who genuinely cared for her, so all she could do was avoid Sean Kerr.
Rona Muir thought, if Sean Kerr got tired of chasing her and gave up, then everyone could move on peacefully.
But Rona Muir never expected Sean Kerr to be so persistent, searching for her all over the world without giving up.
And now, in this important occasion, he cornered her right here.
Hearing Sean Kerr say that, Rona Muir couldn't help but sigh. "Sean, what's the point? You know there's no way for us. The difference in our families will always be there."
Sean Kerr's eyes reddened with emotion. "Charles Yin and Cici Grant weren't a good match either, were they?"
"That's why they're separated now!" Rona Muir replied immediately.
"But they have a child now, and they're not really apart." Sean Kerr answered seriously. "Charles never gave up, and neither will I! Charles will end up with Cici, and as for me, I've only ever wanted you."
Rona Muir sighed helplessly. "Your mother doesn't like me. What do you plan to do about that?"
"She doesn't object anymore." Sean Kerr pleaded, looking at Rona Muir. "I've already convinced her."
"Fine, then tell me—how did you convince her?" Rona Muir retorted, unconvinced.
"I told her, if I can't be with you in this life, then the Kerr Family will end with me!" Sean Kerr declared forcefully.
Rona Muir was stunned, then her face flushed bright red!
This jerk—he actually said something like that out loud!
"Rona, I'm not giving up!" Sean Kerr said seriously. "No matter how long you hide or where you go, I won't let go! And don't even think about marrying someone else! Without my permission, no one dares marry you!"
Rona Muir was just about to snap back, but before she could say a word, Sean Kerr suddenly leaned in and kissed her.
Every word Rona Muir wanted to say was swallowed up by Sean Kerr's kiss.
Rona Muir struggled for a moment, pounding on Sean Kerr's chest, but he refused to let go.
After a few hits, she found herself reluctant to strike him anymore.
People aren't made of wood—we all have feelings.
Rona Muir had seen everything Sean Kerr had done over the years. How could she not be moved, even a little?
And so, half resisting and half yielding, Rona Muir and Sean Kerr finally made some progress in the corner of the lounge.
Meanwhile, after chatting with Mrs. Jiang, Cici Grant went into the room to see Eric Jiang, then took her leave.
Just as Cici was about to leave, Charles Yin quickly caught up to her.
"Tonight, the family is hosting a grand banquet," Charles Yin said quickly. "If you haven't prepared an evening gown, there are some here at the house."
Cici looked up at him. "No need, thank you. I brought my own dress."
Charles Yin nodded, subconsciously licking his lips, searching for a new topic but unable to find one.
He just wanted to spend a little more time with Cici—even if it was just a few stolen moments, he didn't want to miss any chance.
Cici had seen the calm and composed Charles Yin, the domineering and charming Charles Yin, the strategic Charles Yin, and today, the peaceful Charles Yin—but she'd never seen him so flustered.
At this moment, Charles Yin was nothing like his usual confident self—he was actually a little flustered.
Truthfully, Cici didn't really reject him.
It wasn't just because they had a child together, or because his looks matched her taste.
It was a subconscious reaction.
"I want to go see the kids—do you want to come with me?" Cici couldn't bear to see Charles Yin so flustered, so she spoke up without thinking.
As soon as she finished speaking, Cici realized what she'd said, and her face flushed red.
