She barely glanced at the pair before switching to Mandarin and grinning, "Welcome, you two! I'm the boss lady here. Looking to book a swanky suite for a little fun? Our beds are king-sized, and I promise they're squeaky clean!"
"Uh—we, we're here to, to look for someone—" Shawn Young quickly explained.
"Looking for someone? Guy or gal?! Sorry, no men on tap, but we've got plenty of ladies. Stud, if you want a girl, I can hook you up! Not that any of them can hold a candle to the knockout you brought!" Madam Silk couldn't resist teasing Shawn Young when she saw his good looks.
"Uh—I'm, I'm looking for a man. Earlier, a drunk guy booked a room here. That's who I'm looking for. Madam Silk, could you tell me which floor and which room he's in?" Shawn Young asked quickly.
"Oh! Haha—handsome, you must mean Simon Bai, the shoe-shiner?" Madam Silk asked with a laugh.
"Yep! That's him! That's exactly who I'm looking for!" Shawn Young bobbed his head like a chicken pecking rice.
"Oh! So you really are here for Simon Bai, the shoe-shiner! I thought you wanted to have some fun with this lovely lady! Sorry, but we have to protect our guests' privacy. If you and Simon Bai aren't connected, I can't let you disturb his rest!" Madam Silk was clearly disappointed at missing out on business and refused to let Shawn Young go up.
"Uh—not really?" Shawn Young hadn't expected this turn of events.
Seeing Shawn Young all flustered, the pretty girl next to him whipped out a thousand yuan, slapped it on the counter for Madam Silk, and pointed at the price list. "Alright! Book us a fancy suite for 66 yuan. Keep the change—call it your tip. Happy now?"
"Oh! Sure! No problem! Haha—" Madam Silk, seeing the generous tip, immediately pocketed the thousand yuan, her face lighting up with delight.
Madam Silk hustled through the paperwork, handed Emily Bai a key, then tossed over a little bottle and a few condoms, winking at Shawn Young. "All set! Room 25, second floor. Free lube and party hats with every fancy suite! You two, have a blast!"
"Uh—no thanks, I'm good. Can you just tell me what room Simon Bai's in?" Shawn Young grumbled, waving away the freebies.
Unexpectedly, Emily Bai reached out and accepted the items from Madam Silk, her cheeks flushed as she quietly said, "Thank you—now, could you please tell me exactly which room Simon Bai is in?"
"Hehe—no problem—" Madam Silk shot a glance at Shawn Young, then leaned in and whispered a few words to Emily Bai.
After hearing this, Emily Bai's expression suddenly changed, her whole body trembling slightly. Shawn Young noticed her reaction and quickly asked, "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine! Let's—let's just go to the room first!" Emily Bai said to Shawn Young.
"Oh—okay!" Shawn Young assumed she must know which room Simon Bai was in.
The two of them went up to the second floor together. Emily Bai led Shawn Young straight to room 25, unlocked the door with the key, pulled him inside, and quickly locked the door behind them.
"Wait, weren't we coming up here to find your father? Why did you bring me here?" Shawn Young asked her quickly.
"Madam Silk told me that my father—he snuck downstairs just now. I think he saw me, and didn't want to meet, so he took half the room fee from her and just left the hotel!" Emily Bai said, looking utterly dejected.
"Huh? How could this happen? Your father should be drunk by now! And how did he—" Shawn Young said, completely surprised.
"My old man can drink like a fish—getting him drunk is a tall order. I bet he was just faking it. Plus, after losing his shirt, he's too embarrassed to see me. Madam Silk said he took half the room fee and bolted. Guys like him are always dreaming of a comeback, so he probably ran off to the casino to chase his luck again!" Emily Bai let out a heavy sigh, flopping onto the big bed and staring into space.
"Alright then, let's hit the casino and track down your dad!" Shawn Young said, rolling up his sleeves.
To Shawn Young's surprise, Emily Bai just shook her head. "No way. My dad's stubborn as a mule—just like me. Once he makes up his mind, nothing can budge him! And he's got a pride the size of a mountain. Even if we find him, he'd rather die here than lose face and go home with me!"
"Uh—so what are you going to do? You finally found your dad, you should try to convince him to go home! This place isn't like back home—it's dangerous everywhere. Someone like your dad could easily end up with nowhere to go if he's not careful!" Shawn Young reminded her kindly.
Emily Bai nodded, her big, clear eyes locking onto Shawn Young. Suddenly, she said, "You know, I think you're alright. You're not like the other guys—you're a real one!"
"Uh—Miss! We barely know each other. How can you be so sure I'm a good guy?" Shawn Young asked, puzzled.
"It's a vibe—a woman's sixth sense! I just know you're one of the good ones. Any other guy alone with me in a room would've probably tried something sketchy, but you? You're solid!" Emily Bai said.
"Uh—a woman's intuition? That's it? What if I'm not a good guy? Aren't you afraid?" Shawn Young was still confused.
Emily Bai bit her lip, slowly stood up, and murmured, "Like I said before—if you help me, even if you... even if you want my body, I'll go along with it—"
As she spoke, she started to undo her little waist pouch, then slowly unbuttoned her tight black shirt. In less than a minute, the shirt slipped off, leaving her standing at the edge of the bed—her body was a knockout, all smooth curves and dazzling skin, with her proud, perky breasts bouncing right in front of Shawn Young!
