Frequent Urges and Endless Questions
All the immortals looked south. In the sunlight, Azure Flame and Baxa stood shoulder to shoulder—equally powerful, equally tall and striking. They waved to the crowd, then vanished, making a dazzling exit.
“Here to attack the Wildlands Tribulation Thunder Array, are you?” Mirage struck a coquettish pose, somehow both seductive and pure, her voice sweet and teasing. “Well, I’ll be waiting! Good luck, boys!”
She blew a handful of flying kisses to the boys in the crowd, which turned into a swirl of butterflies and fluttered away.
Some clueless hotheads, not knowing any better, fired hidden weapons at the butterflies.
The butterflies dissolved into clouds of pollen that drifted gently down.
Lily Bai dodged away in a hurry.
Then, wherever the pollen landed, cries erupted: “Ah! It itches so much!”
“Crap! The pollen’s poisonous!” someone yelled.
……
Lily Bai just shook her head.
Good thing it only makes people itchy.
At least it’s not lethal.
Looks like Damian Black really does keep his word.
……
This Oath-Taking Assembly was supposed to be a furious, bloodthirsty rally, turning grief into the power to kill.
But thanks to Lily Bai and the others’ return, all that grief just… evaporated.
Even Baxa disappeared in the weirdest way.
Everyone—especially the Longride Sect disciples—was left with a feeling like ‘frequent urination with no relief.’
……
The crowd of immortals dispersed, but the heads and young masters of the various Celestial Sects and aristocratic families stayed behind at the Sigil Sect.
Tonight, under the joint leadership of Henry Xiao and Leo Li, they would all meet to hash out the details of attacking the Wildlands Tribulation Thunder Array.
……
Lily Bai just couldn’t figure out how Damian Black managed to spirit Baxa away.
The prison cage was completely intact.
And it happened right under everyone’s nose.
How did he do it?
Too bad—they were all gone now.
She had no way to ask...
Lily Bai and Nine Li sat by their master Lord Faustin’s bedside, both stewing over Damian’s departure, feeling oddly unsettled.
After spending so much time with the Demon Emperor, she might’ve gotten a little used to him…
“Dad, you’re awake?” Nine Li called out.
Lily Bai glanced over and saw her master, Lord Faustin, sitting up in bed.
He looked like he’d slept pretty well.
“Master, could you please switch up your act next time?” Lily Bai asked. “You always pretend to be asleep. You really think old foxes like Yu Wen Heyun can’t tell?”
“Who said I was pretending? I was actually asleep. I’m very weak!” he protested, hugging his arms.
Lily Bai pouted.
“What happened to you?” Lord Faustin asked. “Did the Demon Emperor really capture you?”
Lily Bai: “Mm-hmm.”
“He really let you go?”
“Mm-hmm.”
“Why?”
Lily Bai shrugged. “Maybe he thought I was just too pretty to hurt?”
Nine Li’s mouth dropped open. “So is your chastity still intact?”
Lily Bai smacked him on the head. “Get lost!”
“You brought it up yourself—said it was because you’re pretty!” Nine Li said, holding up his hands defensively. “So, he didn’t do anything to you… right?”
“Enough out of you! Would your Senior Sister ever trade her chastity for her life?”
“Well, depends on what the guy looks like!” Nine Li said. “The Demon Emperor… he’s top tier! If you really did sleep with him, you wouldn’t be losing out at all, hahaha!”
Lily Bai was stunned. “You—”
“Those two mysterious powerhouses who helped us save everyone earlier—those were the Demon Emperor and Azure Flame, right?” Nine Li’s skin was especially fair and delicate, his eyes bright and clever.
“How did you know?” Lily Bai narrowed her eyes.
“I didn’t know at first, but when Xuan Shaofeng said you were captured by the Demon Emperor and Azure Flame, I figured it out! Those two have unfathomable cultivation—obviously not ordinary immortals. They had to be the Demon Emperor and Azure Flame!” Nine Li said.
