The Dragon Rises

"Kid, how dare you be so arrogant!"

Elder Wade Shui saw Evan Lin casually disperse his rain cloud with a wave of his hand. After a furious shout, he became strangely calm. Staring coldly at Evan, he spoke, "I thought Elder Mark Mu fell into your trap because you ambushed him. But now, it seems you really do have some tricks up your sleeve."

"But today, no matter what, I'll use you as a sacrifice to the heavens!"

The water mist whip in Elder Wade Shui's hand trembled violently. Instantly, the rain cloud Evan Lin had dispersed re-formed.

Unlike the earlier Ten-Directions Rain Cloud, this time the clouds gathered in sheets. In no time, a sprawling, pitch-black storm cloud over a hundred meters wide had formed!

That storm cloud hung high in the sky, with flashes of lightning and rumbling thunder echoing inside. Torrential rain poured down in sheets.

"Get out of the way, let's find cover!" Aaron Zhou saw the rain getting heavier and sensed danger from the storm cloud—the lightning looked like it could strike at any moment. The whole group turned pale with fear.

Victor Li stood in the rain, water streaming down his forehead, his eyes full of shock.

The rain slammed into their bodies like daggers, making everyone's skin sting painfully.

Aaron Zhou and the others hurriedly grabbed their umbrellas and scrambled for shelter.

The Ding family members all showed different expressions and retreated to a distance. Shawn Shi and Dong Zi stared with burning excitement at the lone youth standing in the pouring rain!

The rainwater in midair blurred and twisted into countless arrows, blades, and spears—seen from afar, they radiated a chilling, murderous intent.

Black clouds pressed down on the city; heaven and earth turned grim and deadly!

Elder Wade Shui's robe billowed wildly, the water whip in his hand shining even brighter in the torrential rain. He looked at Evan Lin with arrogant eyes: "This domain of water is my world! So what if you can fight fourth-grade Vajras head-on? Here in my water world, killing you is as easy as slaughtering a chicken!"

With a furious shout, Elder Wade Shui swung his water whip straight at Evan Lin.

The entire whip carried a bone-chilling cold as it crashed down toward Evan Lin's head.

"This whip is pure water essence I've spent years condensing! Even a copper mountain would lose its peak if struck by it! Forget fourth-grade Vajras—even a third-grade Vajra would be split clean in two!"

"Die!"

Boom!

In everyone's eyes, the water whip in Elder Wade Shui's hand suddenly grew massive—its savage aura like a rampaging beast, howling fiercely as it charged.

"Watch out!"

Shawn Shi's face twisted in shock at the sight.

Nearby, Derrick Ding's expression was grave: "This Elder Wade Shui is even stronger than Elder Mark Mu. The entire downpour is his domain. Looks like Master Lin is in real danger today."

Old Madam Ding stood silently to the side, watching the scene unfold without a word.

The raging water whip carried countless blades, spears, and clubs, all barreling toward Evan Lin in a single torrent.

Standing there, Evan Lin raised his hand. Instantly, a faint, transparent shimmer appeared—a thin wall of water.

At first glance, the water wall looked like a clear mirror—so thin it seemed it could shatter with a touch.

But the instant the blazing whip slammed into the water wall—supposedly sharp enough to slice through a copper mountain—it shattered into mist, raining harmlessly to the ground.

The water-forged blades, spears, and clubs behind it all froze in midair just before striking.

Countless blades pointed at Evan Lin, yet not one could move an inch closer.

"What's going on? What did you do?!"

Elder Wade Shui stared, eyes wide with disbelief at the scene before him.

In that moment, he felt his connection to the water forcibly, completely severed!

"You've spent your whole life playing with water and still can't master it. With your skills, who gave you the courage to boast in front of me?"

Evan Lin's face was cold as he snorted and stepped forward. Behind him, the countless water-forged weapons shattered in midair, falling as rain to the ground.

"Petty tricks."

Evan Lin spoke coldly, raising his right hand.

A faint blue light flashed in his eyes.

As Evan Lin gently raised his hand—

In the distance, far overhead, countless rain clouds began to gather at incredible speed.

This time, the wind howled fiercer, the clouds churned faster.

The black rain clouds gathered, and the sky and earth changed color.

A heavy sense of oppression made the air itself grow restless.

Elder Wade Shui's face twisted in terror. He could clearly sense the water around him growing more agitated with every move the young man made.

A flash of white light—

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Thunder roared, shaking the heavens and earth.

As the thunder crashed, translucent shapes rolled and tumbled through the lightning-filled clouds.

"What is that?!" Victor Li looked up, face pale with shock.

"It looks... it looks like a dragon..." Aaron Zhou stared at the horizon, his face ghostly white, eyes fixed on the enormous, translucent water dragon.

In their eyes, they could only vaguely make out segments of a translucent dragon’s body. Yet even a glimpse of that majestic dragon head—just a single scale or plate—filled them with utter terror.

Elder Wade Shui’s robe, which had been billowing in the wind, was now pinned flat by the raging storm. Eyes wide, he stared at the fleeting water dragon in the sky, then at the youth standing nearby—cold as a deep pool, one foot forward. Without another moment’s hesitation, he spun around, conjuring a layer of water mist beneath his feet, and fled toward the mountain’s edge.

Elder Wade Shui sprinted across the water mist, eyes wild with fear. In a blink, he’d already dashed hundreds of meters away. Glancing back, his gaze was icy as he fixed on the youth still standing in place—now just a tiny black silhouette against the vast world.

His eyes burned with fury as he shouted, voice venomous: "Evan 'Nine Mysteries' Lin! Don't celebrate too soon! I underestimated you, but once I report to the Valley Master, they'll make sure you're torn to pieces and never know peace again!"

"Trying to run?" Evan Lin raised an eyebrow, sneered, and said coldly, "Rise, dragon!"

As soon as he spoke, Evan Lin turned his raised palm, then clenched his fist in midair.

The gigantic water dragon weaving through the clouds opened its jaws and let out a roar that shook the world.

The dragon’s roar sent countless stones leaping from the ground.

High above, the water dragon spun, then dove headlong toward Elder Wade Shui, jaws wide, moving with terrifying speed.

Its icy eyes fixed coldly on the fleeing Elder Wade Shui.

To the dragon, he was nothing but an ant, desperately clinging to life.

"He... he summoned a dragon!" muttered Shi Wen, collapsing to the ground, his face twisted between awe and terror.

Old Madam Ding looked up, letting out an involuntary sigh of relief.

No matter what happened, at least the Ding family hadn’t chosen to side with Medicine King Valley against Evan 'Nine Mysteries' Lin!

That was—a dragon!

The entire Ding family trembled, unable to lift their heads.
