The Youth Waves His Hand and Scatters the Raincloud
The youth stood at the edge of the cliff, his posture relaxed. The drop here was over fifty meters, but he didn’t care at all; with a backpack slung over his shoulder, he simply leapt straight off.
Midair, the youth tapped lightly on the cliff wall with his feet. From a distance, it looked as if someone was sprinting along a sheer precipice.
Each time his foot touched the rock, a spray of gravel tumbled down. Every step left a deep imprint in the cliff’s face.
"It’s raining!"
Over on the other side, the crowd was still immersed in their excitement at the raincloud overhead.
Such immortal-like means were enough to inspire awe in anyone’s heart.
The raincloud drifted slowly across the sky, its water nourishing the saplings that hadn’t seen rain in ages.
Judging by how fast the cloud moved, it would take at least a full day to water the entire mountainside.
But this ability to summon rain out of thin air, without any tools, was already the best solution available right now.
“Elder Wade, how many of these rainclouds can you create in a day?” Victor Li looked at Elder Wade Shui, his expression now noticeably more respectful.
“At most four per day,” Elder Wade Shui replied arrogantly. “And the rain I create isn’t ordinary—it carries energy that accelerates the growth of these saplings.”
“If you used regular rainwater, these saplings would need at least ten years to grow into trees. With my water, five years at most!” Elder Wade Shui said, full of self-satisfaction.
Hearing this, Victor Li and the others became even more respectful.
Elder Wade Shui turned to glance at Old Madam Ding, his expression cool and indifferent.
Old Madam Ding wore a bitter smile, gritting her teeth, her eyes flickering as if weighing her options.
“Your Ding family and Medicine King Valley have always had ties, but this time you sided with Evan Nine-Mysteries Lin, putting yourselves at odds with us. That was reckless.” Elder Wade Shui spoke coldly. “I’ll give you a choice: Medicine King Valley, or Evan Lin.”
That Evan Lin—if only he’d met me face to face! My water doesn’t just nourish plants, it can pierce flesh and bone! So what if he can kill a fourth-grade Vajra or even defeat a third-grade one?
The day he meets me will be the day he dies! Medicine King Valley’s prestige cannot be challenged!
By the end, Elder Wade Shui’s tone grew heavy, his face solemn. Every word seemed to pound in the hearts of those present.
Suddenly, the rain falling from the cloud grew more intense.
Old Madam Ding’s face went pale. She didn’t dare meet Elder Wade Shui’s eyes, her whole body trembling in fear, unable to utter a word.
“Hmph. It’s fine if you don’t answer now. My patience lasts seven days—after that, I’ll sacrifice those two first! As for your Ding family, we’ll discuss it later.”
Elder Wade Shui shot a cold glance at Shawn Shi and Dong Zi. The two men were so frightened they couldn’t make a sound for a long time.
Shawn Shi was anxious—ever since Evan Lin entered Thornridge Mountain, there had been no word from him. If he really died in there...
Just thinking about it made Shawn Shi even more nervous.
His gaze wandered aimlessly around, when suddenly, he saw a dark figure drop from the distant cliff, hitting the ground with a thunderous crash and a swirl of dust.
Everyone who had been about to leave turned their heads to look in that direction.
“What just fell down?” Aaron Zhou’s face went pale.
He’d been focused on watching the rainclouds, but the sudden crash startled him. If someone fell off the cliff in front of Victor Li, whether by accident or murder, it would be a huge embarrassment for Aaron Zhou.
“Wait, someone’s walking over.” Victor Li squinted at the figure, his face surprised.
Not far away, the youth in the baseball cap and backpack walked toward them with his hands in his pockets, unhurried.
From a distance, the youth looked thin and solitary. Coming alone, he gave off an air of aloofness.
Elder Mark Mu turned to look, frowning slightly.
“Master Lin!” Seeing who it was, Shawn Shi was stunned at first, then his face lit up with joy as he shouted.
One of the men, upon seeing the youth, let out a shriek, completely losing his composure and startling Victor Li.
Victor Li asked curiously, “Who is Master Lin?”
Aaron Zhou explained quietly, “This Master Lin is said to be Evan Nine-Mysteries Lin. Not long ago, at the Ding family’s Magnolia Manor Boxing King Tournament, he defeated Gavin Cheng, a fourth-grade Vajra, and also bested Drake Huang, River City’s number one, as well as Elder Mark Mu from Medicine King Valley. His reputation in Haizhou has skyrocketed.”
“He defeated a fourth-grade Vajra?” Victor Li’s face changed. He was new to Leyang, so the names Drake Huang and Elder Mark Mu didn’t mean much to him, but ‘fourth-grade Vajra’ was enough to shock him.
A fourth-grade Vajra!
Such beings are far beyond ordinary people—within the military, they hold positions of immense authority.
“How old is he?” Victor Li looked up at the youth walking toward them, his face full of surprise and doubt.
“I think... sixteen or seventeen.” Aaron Zhou hesitated before answering.
“That young?” Victor Li was startled.
Before he could say anything else, the youth was already approaching.
Before Victor Li could speak, Elder Wade Shui stepped forward, killing intent radiating from him. The rain falling from the sky gathered in his hand, forming a shimmering ribbon of water.
He strode forward, staring at Evan Lin with a grim face. "You’re Evan Nine-Mysteries Lin?" he demanded coldly.
“That’s me.”
Evan Lin glanced at Elder Wade Shui, nodded slightly. “You’re from Medicine King Valley?”
Hearing Evan Lin’s tone and attitude, Elder Wade Shui’s face darkened. “The name Medicine King Valley is not for a brat like you to speak so casually!”
“Not only did you steal our Valley’s spirit medicine, you killed our disciples and crippled our elder. Your crimes are countless! Today, I, Elder Wade Shui of Medicine King Valley, will take your life as a sacrifice to heaven! Any last words?”
Elder Wade Shui’s aura surged, and the raincloud that had been drifting away suddenly gathered above his head as if summoned.
The once gentle rain instantly became sharp as blades, striking the ground with a metallic clang. Wherever the raindrops fell, deep marks were left behind.
The ribbon of water in Elder Wade Shui’s hand gleamed with a cold light, as sharp as a blade.
He gripped the ribbon of water in one hand, his entire being radiating killing intent—heaven and earth seemed to grow cold and forbidding.
Victor Li and the others instinctively stepped back a few paces, their faces changing.
Heaven and earth seemed to change color!
But the youth standing beneath the raincloud was calm and serene, his eyes indifferent. He shook his head slightly and let out a nameless sigh.
He raised his left hand and waved gently. Instantly, the raincloud summoned by Elder Wade Shui melted away like ice and snow, vanishing completely.
Sunlight broke through, and the blazing sun hung high in the sky once more.
“Elder Wade Shui really lives up to his name—he’s quite the master of water.”
Evan Lin yawned, stretched lazily, his face utterly indifferent.
