Seeing that Gavin Yan was dead set on killing Ian Song, Wynton Wu felt a splitting headache—because he’d already recognized who Ian was.
Not only was Ian an intermediate student at Sanctum Martial Academy, but he’d even condensed a Heaven-Rank Domain.
Any student with that kind of talent would be heavily cultivated by the academy.
That’s why he suggested Ian cut off his own hands, rather than doing it himself.
As for killing Leon Huang, maybe he’d risk it if no one was around—but murdering a prodigy in front of everyone? The academy’s top brass would never let him off.
Sure, following Easton Yan’s lead had earned him plenty of silver, but compared to his own future, he had no intention of letting things spiral out of control.
And say he really did kill Leon—if the academy’s higher-ups started investigating, would Easton Yan really stick his neck out for him?
If it were him, no way he would.
Besides, Easton Yan was just an advanced student—he didn’t have the clout to go against the academy leadership yet.
So, after thinking it through, he kind of regretted getting involved at all.
"Xiaofeng, your injuries are serious!" Wynton Wu looked at Gavin Yan, genuinely concerned, then urged Mason Xu, "Why are you still standing there? Hurry up and take Young Master Yan to get treated."
"Yes." Mason Xu nodded. "Young Master Yan, just listen to Senior Wu. Let’s get you patched up first."
"Get out of my way!"
Gavin Yan rammed Mason Xu aside with his shoulder, then strode up to Wynton Wu, glaring at him with venom and growling, "Wynton Wu, you’re nothing but my brother’s dog! Who gave you the right to decide for me? I’m ordering you—kill that bastard now!"
By now, Gavin Yan was totally blinded by hatred—revenge was all he cared about. Nothing else mattered as long as he got it.
Hearing Gavin’s vicious words, Wynton Wu’s face went dark. Sure, he followed Easton Yan, but he didn’t see himself as Easton’s dog—so Gavin’s insult hit him hard.
So he sneered, "If you’ve got the guts, go kill him yourself! I follow your brother, so I call you Young Master Yan out of respect—but without him, who the hell are you?"
Infighting?
Watching this scene, everyone was speechless. Gavin Yan was a real piece of work.
Cursing out a Grandmaster as a dog in public—anyone with a shred of pride would find that hard to swallow.
Ian Song couldn’t help but laugh, so he called out to Gavin Yan, “Hey, Young Master Yan—are you still trying to kill me or not? If you’re going to do it, hurry up! Otherwise, I’m leaving!”
"Damn it, I’ll fight you to the death!"
Gavin Yan spun around, ready to charge Ian Song, but Wynton Wu grabbed his shoulder and said gravely, “You’re no match for him.”
"Let go of me!"
Gavin Yan glared at Wynton Wu, his voice harsh.
"Take my advice—revenge can wait ten years!"
"I said... let go!"
Wynton Wu said coldly, “Mason Xu, Nelson Yelu—take Young Master Yan away!”
Mason Xu and Nelson Yelu stepped forward, grabbing Gavin Yan by the arms—one on each side—and forcibly dragged him out of the restaurant. Gavin struggled with all his might, but as a mere mid-stage Master, he had no chance of breaking free.
So all he could do was shout, “Wynton Wu, you bastard! You flunky! How dare you collude with outsiders to set me up? I’ll tell my big brother—he’ll kill you for this!”
Hearing Gavin Yan’s curses, Wynton Wu’s face darkened even further.
Luckily, Mason Xu and Nelson Yelu moved quickly, using their movement techniques to get Gavin out before he could embarrass himself any more.
"Let’s go too," Ian Song said to the four girls behind him.
"Hold on!"
Wynton Wu stepped forward, blocking Ian Song’s path.
Ian Song looked at him, a hint of amusement on his lips.
Seeing the playful look on Ian’s face, Wynton Wu grew annoyed and said coldly, “Don’t you think you owe Tianwu House an explanation?”
"What kind of explanation do you want?" Ian Song asked, staring at Wynton Wu.
"You killed Tianwu House’s manager, injured their people, and cut off both of Young Master Yan’s hands. So tell me—what kind of explanation do you think you owe us?"
"You want an explanation? Sure."
"Do you know why I did all this?" Ian Song’s face suddenly turned cold, and a faint killing intent radiated from him. For some reason, sensing that aura, Wynton Wu felt a chill deep in his heart.
Next, Wynton glanced at the middle-aged man in the brocade robe, but the man’s eyes flickered evasively. Wynton instantly realized there was more going on than he knew, but he was stuck—if Ian left without giving an explanation, he’d have no way to answer to Easton Yan. So he forced himself to say, “Even if you had your reasons, you still can’t kill people!”
Ian Song shook his head. “With that attitude, I’m not interested in talking to you any further. Move aside!”
"I told you, you can’t leave until you give an explanation!" Wynton Wu’s voice grew even more resolute.
"I’ll ask you one last time—are you moving or not?" Ian Song’s face was clearly losing patience.
"No explanation, no passage!"
"Fine, I’ll give you your explanation!"
A mocking smile flashed across Ian Song’s face. With a casual wave of his hand, the Sword Puppet appeared at his side. He glanced at Wynton Wu.
A shrill metallic ring echoed.
The Sword Puppet drew its blade, flashing like lightning as it slashed toward Wynton Wu.
Clang!
Wynton Wu leapt back, drawing his sword to meet the attack.
But the instant his blade met the Sword Puppet’s, Wynton’s face flushed red and his body was sent flying uncontrollably backward.
Thud, thud, thud!
Wynton barely managed to land safely, but he still staggered back several steps before regaining his balance. He stared at the Sword Puppet standing beside Ian Song, a look of shock in his eyes.
“All right, everyone—show’s over. Time to leave!”
Suddenly, Ian Song addressed the crowd of guests.
The crowd was puzzled, but they soon understood.
With another wave of Ian’s hand, a Golden Howler appeared at his feet.
"Tear this place down!"
"Howl! Howl!"
The Golden Howler responded with two booming cries, its body suddenly swelling to more than ten times its usual size, then it swung its paw.
Crack!
A massive support pillar—so thick two people would have to wrap their arms around it—snapped in half. Instantly, more cracking sounds came from the roof.
"Hurry up and get out—this place is about to collapse!"
The diners’ faces all changed color in alarm.
Crack!
The Golden Howler swept out with both claws, breaking three more support pillars at once.
Bang, bang, bang!
Debris started falling from the roof.
"Stop right there!"
Wynton Wu rushed in, only to be met by the Sword Puppet’s blade!
"Let’s go too, or we’ll end up buried in here!" Ian Song said to the four girls.
Soon, everyone in Tianwu House rushed outside, leaving the Golden Howler rampaging within.
Moments later, a thunderous crash rang out—the city’s most upscale restaurant collapsed into a pile of ruins. Of course, the Golden Howler dashed out just before the building fell, landing in front of Ian Song and capering about, as if proudly asking for praise.
