"Who are you? Who brought this guy?"
Hank "Doggy" Han's gaze shifted, fixing fiercely on Evan Lin, who was now sitting beside Lily Zhong: "I don't think I know you!"
"Doggy, isn't that the guy who said he was your debt collector just now?" The young punk following behind froze when he saw Evan sitting there, looking completely confused.
"Debt collector? I've lived this long and never owed anybody anything!"
Doggy Han's face turned vicious as he strode forward, reached out, and tried to yank Lily Zhong out of her seat.
"Lily, let's go! Time to head to the bridal chamber!"
Doggy Han didn't even glance at Evan Lin, clearly not taking him seriously at all.
Just some punk kid, all alone—what, he thinks he can stir up trouble here?
"It was my dad who wanted to marry you. The person you're marrying is him! If you want a wedding night, go find him. If you want kids, go make them with him!"
Lily Zhong shoved Doggy Han's hand away, her face full of disgust.
"Unbelievable!"
With everyone watching, Doggy Han's face turned dark: "I gave your dad all that money, and a house too—so what, now you're trying to weasel out of it?"
"You gave the money and house to her dad, not her. If you want to get married, go marry her dad—it makes perfect sense."
Evan Lin spoke calmly.
Doggy Han's face twisted, eyes fierce: "When I'm talking, what the hell are you butting in for? Damn it!"
Doggy Han roared, grabbed a beer bottle from the table with one hand, and smashed it straight at Evan Lin's head!
"Watch out!"
Lily Zhong's face changed.
Evan Lin casually lifted his hand, and with a single grip, crushed the beer bottle to powder. Then, with a flick of his palm, the shattered glass flew backward, embedding itself in Doggy Han's body.
"Ah!"
Doggy Han howled in pain, the tiny glass shards slicing shallow cuts all over his body—none deep, but each one agonizing.
The people behind Doggy Han hadn't even seen what happened—just that, in the blink of an eye, he was covered in blood. It scared them silly.
"Doggy!"
Boss Han rushed forward and grabbed Doggy Han, looking at his son's wounds. His heart skipped a beat, and he shot Lily Zhong a venomous glare: "Lily Zhong! Our Han family gave your dad money and a house, and this is how you treat my son?"
"You even dared to bring someone here to wreck the place, didn't you!"
Boss Han practically bellowed, "And you hurt my son too? Are you looking to die or what!"
The guests in the back heard this and could only look at Evan Lin and Lily Zhong with pity.
"They're screwed now. Boss Han looks truly pissed."
"No way those two are getting out of here safe today."
"Man, Lily Zhong really has the worst luck."
People in the back kept whispering to each other.
Lily Zhong didn't say a word.
Evan Lin just kept drinking his tea, unconcerned.
At the back, Old Man Zhong—his butt still aching—finally managed to pull on some boxers and, limping, made his way to the hall, steadying himself against the wall.
His gaze cut through the crowd, and as soon as he spotted Evan Lin beside Lily Zhong, he pointed at them, voice full of resentment: "That's him! That guy! He's the one who beat up my kid before!"
"Today's mess—he's behind it! It's got nothing to do with me! He's the one causing trouble!"
Old Man Zhong's voice was hoarse, practically shouting at the top of his lungs. He looked at Evan Lin, eyes full of fear and even more anger.
"So you're the one causing trouble?"
Doggy Han, covered in blood, finally snapped out of it.
The shards embedded in his flesh left him in agony, but not enough to actually knock him out.
Now, hearing Old Man Zhong's words, Doggy Han suddenly remembered something. He glared at Evan Lin and spat, "You're the one who beat up Old Man Zhong in Brightsea—and you had your eye on my Wateryu too!"
"You've got guts, kid! Damn it, I hadn't even come looking for you, and you show up yourself? Today, you're not leaving here alive!"
Doggy Han roared to the side, "Shut the doors!"
Many of the guests at the banquet worked for Boss Han. When they heard the order, they rushed to shut the doors of the first-floor hall.
At the same time, they grabbed beer bottles, tables, chairs—anything they could get their hands on—and stared menacingly at Evan Lin and Lily Zhong.
Seeing this, Lily Zhong was terrified. What she feared most was dragging Evan Lin into trouble.
But seeing Evan Lin so calm and collected, she steadied herself.
"Go ahead and try."
Evan Lin smiled, lifted his head, and looked at Boss Han and Doggy Han, eyes cold and sharp.
Boss Han and his men shuddered, cold sweat breaking out in an instant.
...
Meanwhile—
To get from Brightsea City to Clearstream County, you have to switch between three provincial highways and a county road. If you're in a hurry, you even have to take some winding mountain paths.
It's a long trip. Even the long-distance bus takes more than eight hours to get there.
Right now, five black Hummers were barreling along, engines roaring and dust flying—like a gang of bandits.
Inside one of them, Big Tank's face was grim as he barked, "Step on it! Hit the damn gas!"
"If we're late and piss off Master Lin, you'll all be out begging tomorrow!"
Big Tank's voice boomed. The men in the Hummers were all muscle-bound and tough, each radiating a fierce energy.
In the back seat, Shawn Shi and Donny Dong sat there, faces full of excitement.
Four hours earlier, Big Tank had dragged them to Clearstream County. Normally, neither Shawn nor Donny would bother with such a long trip.
But when they heard Big Tank say Master Lin was in Clearstream, they jumped out of bed, barely bothering to pull on their pants, and piled into the car.
On the way, they ran every red light on the highway, and the Hummers hit speeds of 222 kilometers per hour—absolutely insane.
Soon, the five Hummers charged into the streets of Clearstream County, roaring toward Lakeview Pavilion.
As they neared Lakeview Pavilion, Big Tank got a call from his informant. Over the phone, he heard that Doggy Han and his crew were about to attack Evan Lin with beer bottles and stools.
Big Tank's heart leapt into his throat. He grabbed the radio and roared, "Tear down the walls of Lakeview Pavilion!"
