Subduing Evil King Darren

2/27/2026

Master Spirit Caller summoned everyone, Evan Yang included. He brought the outsiders in—none other than Saint King James, though James looked a bit haggard.

James looked at Evan and said, "Hello, everyone."

"Saint King James, it's truly our honor to have you here," Master Spirit Caller said with a smile.

"Come on, this is the Saint King Divine Hall. I visit whenever I have time. But after fighting Evil King Brookes, both of us are nearly spent. I just wanted to rest here for a while—is that alright?" James laughed.

"Of course, that's no problem. Don't mention it," Master Spirit Caller replied with a smile.

"Saint King James, have you seen Saint King Duran?" Saint King Wood asked curiously. They had searched for Duran for a long time without finding him, so he was curious.

James replied, "He was tricked by those two guys and lured into the Apex Spirit Zone at the top of Severed Spirit Sky. He's still inside, and no one knows when he'll get out."

"What?" Saint King Wood and the others were shocked, and everyone else was stunned too. Evan Yang, however, didn't understand what kind of place the Apex Spirit Zone really was.

"When I fought Evil King Brookes, I only saw three go in, but only two came out. I guess he must be trapped there," James continued, explaining what happened.

After hearing James's words, Saint King Wood frowned and said, "Then what should we do?"

Saint King James asked, "Are you in a hurry to find him?"

"Yes, the Twin-Spine Evil Kings have already joined forces with the other Evil Kings to get the Evil Orb. They've stirred up trouble several times," Saint King Wood said.

"So that's how it is. Let me rest for a while first. Once I've recovered, I'll help you hold the field. But I won't go all out against them yet—I still have business with Evil King Brookes," said Saint King James.

"That works too!" Saint King Wood said excitedly.

The Saint Kings smiled, finally feeling a weight lifted from their hearts.

"Then, could you give me a place to rest?" Saint King James asked a bit awkwardly.

"No problem." Saint King James was then led to a secluded spot for closed-door cultivation, and Evan Yang also continued his own seclusion.

Time passed quickly. When Evan Yang finished his seclusion, Saint King James had also emerged after a few days, and everyone was already prepared.

"Let's go," said Saint King Wood, leading everyone out of the Saint King Divine Hall toward their destination.

Their destination was the base of Evil King Darren and Evil King Scorch, where the Twin-Spine Evil Kings also lurked in the shadows.

The Twin-Spine Evil Kings often came to the Saint King Divine Hall to challenge them, but they never expected that today the people from the Divine Hall would come to them.

"What do we do now?" Lowen asked Highmore.

"They have Saint King James, whose attacks are said to be terrifying. Let's just watch for now and see what happens," Highmore replied.

Lowen nodded. "We tricked Saint King Duran last time—wonder if we can trap this guy too?"

"Impossible. He saw it with his own eyes last time—he's not that stupid," Highmore said.

Hearing this, Lowen could only helplessly agree to keep watching the Saint King Divine Hall group from the shadows with Highmore.

When Evil King Darren and Evil King Scorch came out after hearing the commotion, they were shocked to see Evan Yang.

"You!" Darren exclaimed in shock.

"What about me?" Evan Yang replied with a smile.

"You're not dead?" Darren finally asked. Not only him, but even Scorch looked incredulous.

"How could I possibly die? I told you I'd get revenge. All your claws—your minions—have been pulled out by me. How about that?" Evan Yang said with a smile.

"Impossible!" Darren replied.

"Nothing is impossible. Actually, I should thank you," Evan said with a smile.

Darren was furious that Evan was causing trouble, and even more shocked that he was still alive.

"I'm not just here to cause trouble—today I'm challenging you!" Evan Yang declared.

Hearing this, Darren and Scorch exchanged strange looks, then Darren stared at Saint King Wood and asked, "Did I hear that right?"

"You heard right—he's challenging you today," Saint King Wood confirmed.

Getting confirmation, Darren burst into wild laughter. "Ridiculous! Are you trying to insult me?"

"I'm not insulting you. Today, I'm here to reclaim everything from last time," Evan said, his smile fading.

"You?" Darren sneered.

"That's right, it's me. Let's begin," Evan Yang said.

"Fine. Today, I won't bother with the others—I'll kill you first, you reckless fool," Darren said, angered by Evan's words and sneering.

"Come on," Evan Yang said.

With that, Evan and Darren stepped forward, flew into the air, and stared each other down.

"Before, I could easily capture you—today will be the same. Watch how I humiliate you," Darren snorted. He flashed in front of Evan, trying to grab him as before.

Evan dodged Darren's grasp, appearing on the other side with a smile. "Don't underestimate me," he said.

Seeing Evan escape so easily, Darren frowned, feeling it was unbelievable.

"Your speed's improved a lot, but if you think you can dodge me, you're dead wrong," Darren said, then flashed in front of Evan again.

Evan vanished again, Darren kept chasing, and the back-and-forth went on. Time passed quickly. Watching from the side, Scorch was stunned: "How is this possible? What's up with this kid? He's gotten so strong."

Even the hidden Twin-Spine Evil Kings couldn't believe it. Saint King James grew more interested in Evan and kept an eye on their movements.

After hundreds of exchanges, Darren was furious and shouted, "If you've got guts, stop running!"

"Didn't you say you could catch me? I'm letting you chase me," Evan Yang mocked.

Darren growled angrily, "Damn it, you'd better hope I don't catch you!"

"Come on, then," Evan provoked, deliberately taunting Darren. The furious Darren kept chasing him, the two entangled in midair. Meanwhile, Evan searched for an opening, gathering Soul Battle Will in his hands.

Saint King James sighed as he watched. "What a talent—he's already mastered my second form in such a short time."

"You mean Soul Battle Will, second form?" Master Spirit Caller asked, curious.

James nodded. "That's right. Just watch—looks like Darren is about to suffer. Truly eye-opening."

Everyone looked at Evan Yang curiously after hearing James's words.

At last, as Evan dodged, he struck—an immense force blasted Darren in the back, injuring him. Darren couldn't believe Evan had managed to land a hit.

Not only was Darren hit, but the attack was powerful—Evan's second form. Darren turned, shocked. "You—"

"This is the first strike you used to capture me last time. Watch closely for what's next," Evan said, then flashed forward, attacking Darren's right side.

Careless again, Darren was injured by Evan. Evan smiled, "This is the second strike—just like when you knocked me out last time."

"Damn it!" Darren was nearly driven mad—he couldn't handle Evan at all.

Evan sneered, "Now, take my final strike—this is what you get for threatening me with my woman."

Hearing this, everyone wondered what Evan would do. Bai Yue felt warmth in her heart, especially at Evan's last words, realizing her importance to him.

Evan thrust out both fists, gathering immense power. He leaped and smashed both fists down on Darren's head.

Darren was knocked flying, crashing to the ground. Rocks tumbled, and Scorch tried to escape, but Saint King Wood and the others blocked him.

When Darren crawled out again, Evan was waiting for him. Darren looked at Evan in disbelief. "How did you become so terrifying?"

"Didn't I already say? Thanks to you," Evan replied with a smile.

"Thank me? Did you have some kind of encounter in the Purple Profound Sea?" Darren asked suspiciously.

"What do you think?" Evan replied.

"No matter what, I have to kill you!" Darren shouted, trying to rise, but Evan beat him down again. In the end, Darren was seriously injured and defeated, unable to believe he had lost to someone once weaker. Seeing Scorch blocked, he knew he was finished.

The Twin-Spine Evil Kings were drawn to Evan's sudden surge in power.

"Why has he become so strong?" Highmore asked curiously.

Lowen replied, "Why not ask him yourself?"

Highmore said it's hard to capture Evan because of Saint King James.

Lowen suggested distracting Saint King James so Highmore could teleport Evan to a designated spot, then regroup.

Highmore questioned the plan, saying it's their escape ability and won't be usable again for a while if used.

Lowen insisted they needed answers and might get what they want.

Highmore agreed to the plan.

Lowen nodded, then they moved. Saint King James tried to stop them, but Lowen blocked his path.

Highmore approached Evan, used a stone to create a vortex, and Evan was sucked in.

The group was shocked. Saint King James gathered power and said, "Courting death!"

Highmore disappeared, Lowen left from another direction. Saint King James does not have a clone technique, so he focuses on capturing Lowen.
