The Teacher–Student Assembly was underway.
The venue was a multimedia classroom. At the front stood a long table covered with a red cloth, several chairs arranged at its center. Seated there were the school leaders, and standing right at the front was Wendy Wen.
Wendy Wen had already prepared her speech, waiting for the assembly to begin so she could take the stage.
Principal Damon Deng of Capitalview First High was a portly man in his forties. He smiled at the uniformed man beside him and said cheerfully, "Chief Chen, can you give me a hint—what brings you to our school today? Surely it’s not that one of our students got into trouble, right?"
As soon as Damon Deng spoke, everyone below perked up their ears, staring at Chief Chen standing on the podium.
Chief Gary Chen—full name Chen Guang—was the police chief for this district in Capitalview City. He’d cracked several major cases and was so famous that most criminals would quake at the mention of his name.
Normally, Chief Chen wouldn’t visit Capitalview First High at all, so his sudden arrival today was quite unexpected.
"A student did get into trouble, but it’s actually a good thing," Chief Chen said with a smile. Damon Deng was surprised, "A good thing? Did one of our students do something heroic?"
His face lit up—an incident like that would be perfect for the school’s publicity.
"It’s even better than that. I’ll tell you the details once I find the student involved," Chief Chen nodded.
