Severed Spirit Sky

Evil King Darren Duan heard Huan Wuqin's words and asked, "So where did it go?"

Huan Wuqin gave a mocking smile, her tone light but her eyes sharp. "It's in the hands of a Saint King. Do you dare to try and take it?"

"What? Which Saint King?" Evil King Darren Duan was shocked after hearing this.

Huan Wuqin's lips curled into a sly smile. "Saint King May."

Evil King Darren Duan's face twisted in anger, but he quickly suppressed his frustration and forced a sinister grin. "Damn it, you... But it doesn't matter. I'll be seeing her soon!" As Huan Wuqin arched her brows with a hint of provocation, Darren had already let go of Gavin White and Huan Wuqin. He warned coldly, "Don't try to leave. If I could catch you once, I can do it again. So you'd better do as I say."

Gavin White and Huan Wuqin walked over to Evan Yang, determination flashing in their eyes as they prepared for a confrontation. Evan Yang glanced at them, then shrugged, his tone casual but resolute. "Fine, let's do it."

Gavin White and Huan Wuqin exchanged glances, uncertainty flickering in their eyes. Evan Yang sensed their unease and sent a voice transmission: "I know you're frustrated, but you've seen his strength. Unless a Saint King appears, we can't defeat him. And the Saint Kings will show up in a few days—didn't Miss Huan say there will be a battle between Saint Kings and Evil Kings? That's our chance."

Hearing Evan Yang's explanation, Gavin White and Huan Wuqin finally understood his meaning. Meanwhile, Evil King Darren Duan, not wanting to waste time, turned to Evan and said, "Go ahead and release them."

Evan Yang stepped forward and released them all in an instant. The moment their restraints vanished, the four thought that with Evil King Darren Duan present, they could bully Evan Yang. They rushed forward, intent on teaching him a lesson. But Evan Yang moved like lightning, slapping each of them across the face. The room fell silent as everyone stared, stunned by his audacity.

Evan Yang stood tall, acting like their superior. "What? Not satisfied? Just now, Evil King Darren Duan already agreed I could discipline his people." His tone was calm, but his gaze was sharp, leaving the four even more unsettled.

As Evan Yang spoke, Evil King Darren Duan recalled his earlier promise. The four, who had thought it was a joke, now realized it was real. When they saw Darren pretending not to notice, their anger simmered, but they could do nothing. All they could do was glare at Evan Yang, resentment burning in their eyes.

"What? Still not enough? Want to keep going?" Evan Yang asked, his voice steady, eyes sweeping over the four challengers. The tension in the air was palpable.

Not wanting the situation to escalate, Evil King Darren Duan quickly intervened. "Only three days left until it starts. Go do what you need to do." His tone brooked no argument, and the four immediately backed down.

The four, not wanting to risk another round with Evan Yang, hurried off in embarrassment, their faces flushed with shame. Evan Yang watched them leave and sighed, "Just like that? What a letdown."

Evil King Darren Duan turned to Evan Yang, his expression serious. "Alright, since I agreed to your terms, you need to do what you're supposed to. Let's go."

Evan Yang, Gavin White, and Huan Wuqin exchanged glances, resignation in their eyes. With no other choice, they followed Evil King Darren Duan out of the room.

Evil King Darren Duan led the three deep into his personal cave. The cavern was heavily guarded, with loyal subordinates stationed at every turn, their eyes cold and vigilant.

Evan Yang took in the surroundings, his gaze lingering on every exit and hidden corner. He silently memorized the layout, already plotting how to escape when the opportunity arose.

After bringing the trio into a secluded chamber, Evil King Darren Duan gestured around. "You'll stay here. I'm heading out for some business. In three days, I'll take you to do what you need to do." His tone was brisk, offering no room for argument.

With that, Evil King Darren Duan strode out, leaving the three behind. The cave was no ordinary prison—a shimmering barrier of light sealed the entrance, making escape impossible for anyone but a Saint King or Evil King.

"What now?" Gavin White asked curiously after Evil King Darren Duan left. Evan Yang looked at Huan Wuqin—after all, she'd been in their faction before and probably knew a thing or two. So Evan asked, "What do you think?"

"This cave of Evil King Darren Duan's is used to guard important people. Unless you're a Saint King or Evil King, no one else can open it." Huan Wuqin said.

"Doesn't that mean we have no chance to escape?" Gavin White exclaimed.

"You could say that." Huan Wuqin said helplessly.

Seeing their expressions, Evan Yang said, "Why those faces? We're just trapped, it's not like we're in any real danger."

"But who knows, what if that Evil King wakes up in a bad mood one day and wipes us out?" Gavin White said.

"Don't forget, he still needs me for something." Evan Yang said.

"He wants you to seal a Saint King, but a Saint King is so powerful—how could you possibly do that? Is Evil King Darren Duan crazy?" Huan Wuqin asked curiously.

"He's not crazy. He said he'll have the Saint King injured first, then I'll seal them. Looks like in this big battle, they're planning to injure the Saint Kings and have me lock them down." Evan Yang said after thinking for a moment.

"If that's really the case, then this whole era is about to descend into chaos." Huan Wuqin exclaimed.

"Relax. We'll play it by ear. I'll find a chance to shake off this Evil King." Evan Yang said.

With Evan Yang's reassurance, Gavin White and Huan Wuqin felt at ease.

As for Evil King Darren Duan, getting Evan Yang felt like striking gold. Darren had already arrived at another location, where three others were seated.

These three were also Evil Kings.

They were Evil King Blaze, Evil King Tide, and Evil King Gale. Each had a powerful attribute, which is why they had those titles.

Evil King Blaze, who was a bit hot-tempered, said, "Darren, what's up? Why are you so late today?"

"Ah, just had something to deal with, so I'm late." Evil King Darren Duan replied.

"What could be more important than our business?" Evil King Blaze asked.

"I just caught someone. Guess what he can do?" Evil King Darren Duan laughed. The three looked at each other and started guessing, but none got it right. Darren said, "He can seal—it's that madman's sealing technique, the one that sealed Saint King James back then."

"What? Are you serious? He can do that?" Evil King Blaze said, clearly excited.

Evil King Darren Duan grinned. "Of course it's true. I saw it with my own eyes—my subordinates were all sealed by him. Luckily, I showed up in time to stop him and locked him up. Now, he'll work for us."

"If that's really the case, then it's perfect! Once we take down those Saint Kings one by one and seal them, we can use them however we want. This world will be ours." Evil King Blaze laughed gleefully.

"This world is just the beginning. Our true goal is to break out—shatter this entire realm!" Evil King Darren Duan declared, ambition blazing in his eyes.

"You're talking about the Spirit Prison Evil Orb?" Evil King Blaze asked, curiosity piqued.

"That's right. I already know where it is—Saint King May has it. She'll be back soon, and when she comes, we must intercept her at all costs," Evil King Darren Duan said coldly.

Evil King Tide, ever the cautious one, said, "This battle won't be so simple. If we could get more Evil Kings on our side, things would go even smoother."

"Don't worry—I already invited Evil King Skyshroud," Evil King Gale said with a sly grin.

"And I've brought Evil King Scorch out of seclusion," Evil King Blaze added, his eyes burning with excitement.

"Excellent! That gives us six Evil Kings, while they only have four Saint Kings. With those odds... heh!" Evil King Darren Duan was overjoyed.

"Hahaha!" Evil King Blaze burst out laughing, unable to contain his excitement.

Evil King Tide suggested, "Now, let's assign tasks. Our subordinates can sweep through those cities while the main battle rages above."

Evil King Darren Duan and the others nodded in agreement and began dividing up their assignments.

When Evil King Darren Duan returned to his lair and saw Evan Yang, Gavin White, and Huan Wuqin quietly waiting, he grinned. "The three of you had best obey me. Once the Saint Kings fall, this world will be ours. Trust me—following me is the right choice."

"At this point, all our people are yours, Evil King. It's not like we have a choice," Evan Yang replied with a wry smile.

"I want your absolute loyalty—mind and soul," Evil King Darren Duan demanded.

"That sort of thing takes time," Evan Yang replied evenly. Evil King Darren Duan just smiled. "You'll make the right choice." Then he left. Huan Wuqin muttered bitterly, "Shameless. Our whole clan followed him once, and he still wiped us out."

Evan Yang comforted her quietly, "He'll pay for that, sooner or later."

"Mm." Huan Wuqin nodded, her eyes cold with determination.

Evil King Darren Duan, in high spirits, found the Four Great Evil Souls and assigned them new tasks. Afterward, Gu Men asked, "Evil King, are you really letting that person stay by your side?"

"Of course. Why?" Evil King Darren Duan replied with a laugh.

"He's dangerous. What if..." Gu Men wanted to say Evan Yang was a threat and should be dealt with immediately.

Evil King Darren Duan laughed, "There's no 'what if.' With their abilities, I could deal with them easily. They can't stir up any trouble in front of me."

Seeing Evil King Darren Duan so confident, the four were worried, but remembering he was an Evil King, they felt reassured.

But privately, the four had fought among themselves often, and their hatred for Evan Yang hadn't lessened.

In the days that followed, the Evil Kings' forces quickly mobilized, preparing to strike during the Saint King vs. Evil King battle.

Severed Spirit Sky, a miraculous place in the Spirit Prison Realm, was a battleground where attacks inside would never affect the outside world. It was the chosen site for the Saint Kings and Evil Kings to fight.

Saint King Wood, Master Spirit Caller, Saint King May, and another Saint King arrived. They saw a barrier ahead—once inside, they'd reach Severed Spirit Sky.

"Once we're inside, it's Severed Spirit Sky. This is a do-or-die battle for us four—since we have no other Saint Kings to help." Saint King Wood sighed.

Master Spirit Caller looked around, saw no sign of Saint King James, and realized he wouldn't make it. He said, "Let's go up. They're four as well."

Everyone nodded and walked into the barrier. Inside, they found a long staircase leading up to a floating, spacious platform.

When the four reached the platform, no one was there—they thought they'd arrived early. But soon, more people came up the other staircase.

Evil King Darren Duan and three other Evil Kings appeared.

When the four Saint Kings saw the Evil Kings, Saint King Wood smiled, "Hello there."

"You four really have guts, showing up as promised." Evil King Darren Duan laughed.

"Of course. Otherwise, how would we survive in this world?" Saint King Wood laughed.

"But have you considered—if all four of you get trapped here today, won't this world become ours?" Evil King Darren Duan laughed.

"Four Evil Kings, four Saint Kings—why do you think we're weaker? At worst, it's a tie, and the rest can be handled by our people." Saint King Wood said.

"Who says there are only four of us?" Evil King Darren Duan laughed, and two more Evil Kings stepped out behind him.
