Yet around the star-point, it seemed as if a nebula had formed, leaving Evan Chu deeply puzzled. He couldn’t quite understand what was happening, but he was sure it was a good sign. By the time this star-point appeared, all the Stellar Power within his body had already vanished.
Slowly withdrawing his divine sense, Evan Chu opened his eyes. Looking up at the sky, he noticed that one star overhead was almost identical to the star-point in his dantian. That star was the brightest of the Big Dipper.
On a whim, Evan Chu tried to borrow power from that brightest Big Dipper star, and immediately felt the star-point in his dantian tremble slightly.
In the next instant, the brightest star of the Big Dipper and the star-point in his dantian resonated perfectly. A surge of powerful Stellar Power flooded Evan Chu’s body, but this time, there was no swelling sensation—just a solid, real strength filling every part of him.
Borrowing Stellar Power—Evan Chu felt that he’d truly succeeded. Now, the Stellar Power in his body was no weaker than his Chaos Immortal Force, though he sensed he hadn’t drawn much. The power appeared for only a few breaths before vanishing, but the star-point seemed to grow larger, and the nebula around it became denser.
This discovery left Evan Chu wild with joy. The bigger and brighter the star-point in his dantian grew, the more Stellar Power he’d be able to borrow—and when he unleashed it, his attacks would become even more terrifying.
He threw himself wholeheartedly into training, repeatedly resonating with the star overhead. Each time, Stellar Power would appear and then fade, and his star-point grew ever stronger.
What surprised Evan Chu even more was that his old Star Mark had vanished. It seemed the star-point had replaced it. Now, whenever he wanted to borrow Stellar Power, all he had to do was make the star-point resonate—the corresponding star in the heavens would respond, and Stellar Power would instantly manifest in his body.
Evan Chu knew he had only taken the first step. To draw greater Stellar Power, he'd have to become even stronger—but for now, the time wasn’t right.
At that moment, he said to his Immortal Infant, “Release my Chaos Immortal Force—I want to see if I can borrow Stellar Power now.”
It took a full day for the Immortal Infant to unseal his Chaos Immortal Force. Once it was done, Evan Chu tested his new method again. As long as the star-point in his body resonated, the corresponding star above would instantly shoot down starlight, and Stellar Power would flood into him on demand.
A mountain wind swept by. Evan Chu stopped cultivating and turned to Goldwing, who was perched on a tree branch. “Old Gold, how long have I been at it this time?” he asked.
“Boss, you’ve been at it for almost ten years. The date you agreed on is nearly here, and the auction is about to start. Shouldn’t we get moving and do what we came out here to do?” Goldwing replied.
“It’s almost time,” Evan Chu said, frowning. “I still don’t know Luna’s situation. I have to rescue her—I can’t let her keep suffering in Skyshade Hall. But our deadline isn’t quite here yet. I want to visit Dream Spirit Sanctuary first, check on Ruoxi and the others, and get a sense of what’s happening in the Immortal Realm.”
Goldwing flashed with golden light, transforming into a giant bird with a wingspan over two meters. Evan Chu stepped onto his back. With a streak of golden radiance, man and beast shot out of the canyon. The wind howled past Evan Chu’s ears—Goldwing’s speed was as fast as a meteor.
“Old Gold, your speed is downright monstrous. But we don’t even know which direction Dream Spirit Sanctuary is in. Shouldn’t we find a place to ask around?” Evan Chu joked.
“There’s a big city about ten thousand miles ahead. Why don’t we stop by and check it out?” Goldwing suggested.
“You can see ten thousand miles away? That eyesight is insane,” Evan Chu laughed.
For Goldwing, ten thousand miles was just a few breaths of flight. The two chose a concealed spot to land. Evan Chu changed his appearance—no one could recognize him now. Goldwing shrank into a palm-sized golden bird and perched on Evan Chu’s shoulder.
Evan Chu walked onto the official road, joining the flow of people heading toward the city gate. The road was packed, just like the grand auction in Newcapital City a hundred years ago—a sea of people, bustling with excitement.
“I wonder what kind of heaven-defying treasures will show up at this auction,” someone in the crowd said excitedly. “I can’t wait to see!”
Evan Chu was momentarily stunned. He hadn’t expected this city to be an auction venue too. He didn’t know which power was hosting it, or if Hector Vaughn and Xander Xuan would show up—but the thought made his blood stir with anticipation.
Following the crowd, Evan Chu reached the city gate. He glanced up at the plaque and saw the name: Lumastream City. It was a major city under Coldshroud Imperial Palace, right in Zane Zuo’s northern territory. He was a little surprised that the auction was being held in the domain of such a dangerous Immortal Emperor, but he accepted it calmly.
Since he was here, Evan Chu simply paid a low-grade Immortal Stone and stepped inside. The city’s atmosphere was just like Newcapital City during auction season—inns and taverns packed full, sky-high lodging prices. If you wanted a room, you’d have to shell out a mountain of Immortal Stones.
Evan Chu didn’t rush to find a place to stay. Instead, he strolled the streets, taking in the northern climate. Coldshroud Imperial Palace’s domain was much colder than other places in the Immortal Realm—sometimes the sun blazed overhead, and the next moment, heavy snow would blanket everything.
Right now, snow was falling, and in no time, all of Lumastream City was covered in silver. Evan Chu casually walked into a tavern. The place was packed—only one or two tables in the corner were still empty.
Evan Chu went straight to a corner table, sat down, ordered a few refined dishes and a pot of wine, and began eating slowly. The tavern didn’t serve Celestial Nectar Jadewine—the legendary Immortal liquor from Newcapital City—but the wine here was decent, leaving a faint aftertaste in his mouth.
Just then, eight people walked in—six men and two women, all middle-aged. They scanned the room and drifted toward Evan Chu’s corner.
Now only one table was left. Eight people squeezing into a single table would be far too cramped, but Evan Chu—a lone, unfamiliar young man—sat there by himself. This clearly annoyed them.
A burly, full-bearded man swaggered over, face full of local arrogance. Seeing Evan Chu’s concealed cultivation—just early Da Luo Golden Immortal—he figured this kid would be easy to bully. In a domineering tone, he barked, “Kid, we’ve booked this spot. Get lost!”
His attitude was pure bravado. He’d only dared to talk like that because he thought Evan Chu was weak. Evan Chu just smiled and replied lightly, “And what if I don’t? You planning to throw me out yourself?”
