The nine supreme creatures joined forces, opening up a tunnel ahead. The Double-Faced Fiend flashed out of the tunnel, then headed in the direction where Queen Arachne had departed.
"Lord Shen, do you think he can handle it?" another creature asked.
"It should be no problem," Lord Shen replied.
"No matter what, we must stop that human. We can't let him enter the Ling Void Expanse. If Lord Greenguard or any of the others find out, it'll be trouble," a creature said worriedly.
"As long as the humans don't launch a major attack, just one person won't even get half a step into the Ling Void Expanse," Lord Shen said, his eyes narrowing.
"Either way, we need a backup plan. Let's activate the surrounding barrier so we can move in and out freely," a creature suggested after thinking it over. The others agreed—it was most important to have unrestricted access right now.
Lord Shen knew the glowing barrier was originally set up to boost their cultivation speed. To leave now, they'd have to dismantle it, but once removed, it couldn't be restored—a worrying prospect, since creating it was extremely complex. The thought of tearing it down for just one person made him hesitate, so he said, "Let's wait and see. After all, we spent a lot of power setting up this light barrier. We can't just let it go to waste."
Remembering the trouble it took to set up, everyone nodded—they would wait for the Double-Faced Fiend to return before making a decision.
As for the Double-Faced Fiend, he had already found Queen Arachne.
Queen Arachne was shocked to see a powerful creature emerge from the coffin. "Welcome, my lord," she exclaimed.
"Enough talk—where is that human?" the Double-Faced Fiend demanded.
"Not far. He's just to the east. I'll take you there by a shortcut," Queen Arachne replied.
The Double-Faced Fiend nodded. "Alright, lead the way. I want to see what makes this human so special."
Queen Arachne nodded, then took the Double-Faced Fiend along a special shortcut, leaving their original location. Meanwhile, Evan Yang was still flying along the route, occasionally encountering creatures blocking his path, but he dealt with them easily.
Queen Arachne had already arrived ahead of Evan, and after setting up her web, she said, "My lord, he'll soon come this way. When he does, we'll be able to intercept him."
"Alright, just watch from the side. I'll deal with this annoying human myself and show him we're not to be trifled with. He'll learn the Ling Void Expanse isn't a place anyone can just enter," the Double-Faced Fiend said coldly.
"Exactly. What could a single human possibly do?" Queen Arachne laughed.
"Alright, let's hide ourselves," said the Double-Faced Fiend. Queen Arachne nodded, and the two creatures tore open a spatial crack and hid inside, making it impossible for Evan Yang to detect them unless they emerged themselves.
Evan Yang was in a hurry, flying along when he once again crashed into a spider web. This time, he reacted quickly, knowing it was definitely Queen Arachne's doing. Flames wrapped around him as he burned away the webs. At that moment, a two-headed creature suddenly crawled out from the nearby space, glaring at Evan. "So, we finally meet, you troublesome human."
"Who are you?" Evan Yang asked, sensing the powerful aura radiating from the creature.
"Me? Everyone calls me the Double-Faced Fiend. Got it? Now let's get started—enough talk," the fiend sneered.
Evan realized this opponent was probably even stronger than Queen Arachne. Meanwhile, Queen Arachne hid in the shadows, watching closely, eager to see how the Double-Faced Fiend would finish Evan off.
As soon as the Double-Faced Fiend appeared, both heads locked onto Evan, unleashing tremendous speed and power. Evan struggled to dodge, having to rely entirely on his wind attribute to move faster.
Seeing Evan accelerate, the Double-Faced Fiend snorted, "So that's how you get faster. Not bad, but you're dead anyway."
One of the fiend's heads suddenly opened its mouth wide and blew out a violent gust of wind, instantly changing Evan's direction.
"Damn, you're wind attribute too?" Evan exclaimed, quickly stabilizing himself to avoid being blown off course. But the fiend's power was overwhelming, and Evan was forced step by step toward that head.
"You're tough, but you can't change your fate. Die!" the fiend's other head roared. The wind head ramped up its suction, and Evan was pulled right to its mouth. Evan quickly drew his Limitless Spear, transformed it, and jammed it into the fiend's mouth, stopping himself from being swallowed.
Furious, the fiend cursed, "Damn you, I'll strangle you!"
The Double-Faced Fiend stopped blowing wind and unleashed an even stronger force. Evan saw this power and immediately thought of the creatures' ability to tear open space.
"Is this the power to tear open space?" Evan exclaimed in shock.
