"Crack!"

A valuable sandalwood table shattered under Drake Chu's palm. Infuriating! That little beast actually dared to threaten him—truly not knowing his place.

"Someone, bring Jasper Chu to see me!"

Drake Chu's voice was squeezed out through clenched teeth.

Soon, a middle-aged man nearly two meters tall strode in, clad in armor, and knelt on one knee before Drake Chu. In a booming voice he said, "Jasper Chu reporting to the family head. What are your orders, sir?"

Jasper Chu was the captain of the Chu Family's guard corps, his family having served the clan for three generations. His cultivation had reached the early Divine Sea Stage, and thanks to his natural brute strength, he could fight even mid-Divine Sea opponents.

Drake Chu gritted his teeth and said, "That little beast Evan Chu still hasn't changed his vicious nature—he cruelly murdered Chief Steward Charles Chu and elite guard Warren Wang. Send a squad to the cemetery to arrest that little thief. If he dares to resist, execute him on the spot!"

Previously, he hadn't killed Evan Chu out of concern for idle gossip. Now, that little beast actually dared to threaten him—any lingering scruples had long since been burned away by rage. What he wanted most now was to kill Evan Chu and eliminate future trouble once and for all!

Jasper Chu was startled when he heard this, hesitated for a moment, but finally braced himself and said, "Yes, sir. I accept the order."

When Thomas Chu was alive, he had often guided Jasper's cultivation, so Jasper really didn't want to move against Evan Chu. But as captain of the guard, he had to obey the family head—and with his whole family living on the Chu estate, defying Drake Chu's orders would bring disaster.

Leaving the side hall, Jasper Chu summoned squad leader Liam Lin and said in a low voice, "The family head has ordered Evan Chu's arrest. Take a team to the cemetery and bring Evan back!"

"Yes, sir!"

Liam Lin nodded.

Just as Liam Lin was about to walk out the door, Jasper Chu gritted his teeth and added, "If he dares to resist, kill him on the spot!"

Liam Lin glanced back at Jasper Chu, then nodded. "Understood!"

All the guards knew Jasper Chu had only broken through to the Divine Sea Stage thanks to the former family head Thomas Chu's guidance. Now, seeing Jasper ready to kill Evan Chu, Liam Lin felt a bit of contempt for his actions.

Still, he was just a small squad leader. As the saying goes, 'A new ruler means new retainers.' To survive in the Chu Family, you had to please the current head. Since the family head wanted Evan Chu dead, the guards had to be the knives that killed him.

After gathering ten guards at the ninth level of the Tempering Body Stage, Liam Lin led them straight to the cemetery.

"Captain Lin, where are we going?"

One of the guards asked curiously.

"We're going to the cemetery to kill someone," Liam Lin said coldly. In his eyes, Evan Chu was already a dead man.

"To kill someone? Isn't that fool Evan Chu living at the cemetery? Are we really going to kill Evan Chu this time?" the guard exclaimed.

"What, do you have a problem with that?" Liam Lin's gaze turned cold.

"Of course not!" The guard shook his head, sighing, "Just a few months ago, Evan Chu was still the Chu Family's domineering young master. Who would've thought he'd fall so far in just a few months—now he's a fool, and even his life isn't safe!"

"Leo Liao, you're just an ordinary guard—what right do you have to pity him? If the family head hears you talking like that, you'll be in trouble. Watch what you say from now on!"

A middle-aged guard kindly reminded him.

Hearing this, Leo Liao shot the middle-aged guard a grateful glance, then shut his mouth.

The Chu Family guards all rode on horseback, and within a quarter of an hour, they'd arrived at the cemetery.

"Surround it!"

Liam Lin drew his long blade and pointed it at the wooden hut.
