Grandmother and Grandson's Power Struggle
Mrs. Yin looked extremely displeased.
Cecilia Gu took the initiative to walk up to Mrs. Yin, and while pushing her wheelchair, said to Ethan Yin and May Yan, "Mom has a bit of indigestion today. I'll accompany her for a walk. Please make yourselves comfortable."
Before Mrs. Yin could say anything, Cecilia was already pushing her wheelchair away.
After Cecilia and Mrs. Yin walked away, Ethan Yin and May Yan kept their eyes on Cecilia for a long, long time.
"Wasn't this woman supposed to come from a humble background? Turns out she's quite attractive," Ethan Yin mused, stroking his chin as he watched Cecilia's retreating figure. "She's beautiful even while pregnant. I bet she was a stunner before, too!"
May Yan smacked Ethan Yin hard on the back of his head, scolding him, "You useless brat! Even a pregnant woman catches your eye! Once you're on the board of directors, won't you have your pick of beautiful women?"
Ethan Yin thought about it and realized May Yan made sense, so he quickly said, "Yes, yes, I need to go see Grandma right away! I want to join the board of directors!"
After Cecilia pushed Mrs. Yin away, Mrs. Yin's face was still dark and unpleasant.
However, she was still quite satisfied with Cecilia's attitude.
On this matter, Cecilia made it clear she was on Mrs. Yin's side.
For that, she was quite satisfied.
"Mom, you know Ethan Yin isn't worth worrying about. Why bother competing with them for appearances?" Cecilia continued pushing Mrs. Yin forward and gently said, "Under your guidance, Ethan has become a pampered young master. How could he possibly be a match for Charles?"
"Charles told you all this?" Mrs. Yin snorted coldly. "He really dotes on you."
"He told me because he's worried about you," Cecilia sighed softly. "Charles said you made a lot of sacrifices for him back then. He wants me to be more understanding of your difficulties."
"He really said that?" Mrs. Yin's voice carried a hint of emotion.
"Yes," Cecilia replied firmly.
Mrs. Yin's gaze softened considerably. "At least he still has a conscience. Everything I've done was for him..."
In Grandma Yin's tea room.
Charles Yin placed his chess piece down steadily, while Grandma Yin was already losing ground.
"It seems I'm no longer your match," Grandma Yin sighed. "Charles, since the Yin Consortium is already under your control, could you at least give Ethan a way out?"
"As long as he behaves, I can give him a way out." Charles Yin looked calmly at Grandma Yin. "Grandma, I want to know why you suddenly changed your mind and decided to help Ethan escape my control?"
Grandma Yin was taken aback. "He's still a member of the Yin family, after all."
"Is that so?" Charles lowered his gaze and began picking up the chess pieces. "Grandma, you knew Mom would come back, you knew she'd target Cecilia, and you knew I'd deliberately bring up Ethan to balance things out. So, you're the one truly playing this game. Aren't we all just your chess pieces?"
Grandma Yin smiled. "When you brought up Ethan, didn't you already understand everything? Why ask me?"
Charles nodded. "Yes, I've figured it all out. You used me, and I used you. I guess we're even now."
Grandma Yin shook her head. "No, you still won. Cecilia is the biggest wildcard."
Charles said nothing, just stared at his grandmother.
After his father's disappearance, Grandma Yin held the Yin Consortium together through turbulent times and single-handedly helped him become the CEO.
The ups and downs they've weathered over the years are countless.
"Grandma's word always stands. You'll always be the CEO of the Yin Consortium, and its future leader. Ethan's abilities are limited—a branch company is more than enough for him. So as long as Ethan doesn't go too far, let him be. I'm old now. I can't bear too many losses. If what happened back then repeats, I could lose your mother..." Grandma Yin's words carried a trace of pleading.
"Grandma," Charles interrupted her, "You don't need to say that to me. My mother's family isn't to be underestimated. You called me here today for Ethan and May Yan, didn't you? I can agree to let Ethan return to the Yin family, but May Yan is absolutely not allowed in! That's my bottom line!"
Grandma Yin's lips trembled slightly.
Charles continued, "Father's whereabouts are still unknown, so let's not bring that up. If he has a third family out there, are we supposed to bring them all into the Yin family records? Grandma, you're getting soft in your old age, and I understand. But have you considered how you'll explain it to my mother's family if May Yan enters the Yin household?"
Just then, Grandma Yin's assistant called from outside, "Madam, Young Master, Young Madam is here."
Charles immediately stood up.
"Let her in," Grandma Yin told the assistant.
The next moment, Cecilia Gu walked in from outside.
"Grandma," Cecilia greeted as soon as she entered. "I've already met Ethan and Aunt Yan."
"Cecilia, come, sit over here." Grandma Yin immediately called her over.
Charles was the first to walk over and gently took Cecilia's hand.
Cecilia looked up and exchanged a smile with Charles.
With that smile, Charles knew Cecilia had already spoken with Mrs. Yin, and it went well.
Charles's gaze toward Cecilia grew even softer and more moved.
Mrs. Yin had done so much to hurt Cecilia, yet Cecilia still forgave her for Charles's sake.
How could he not be grateful?
Cecilia obediently sat down beside Grandma Yin, smiling, "As soon as we walked in, Grandma called Charles over. Are you secretly giving him something good?"

Grandma Yin laughed at Cecilia's joke.
"My granddaughter-in-law is getting more mischievous. Good, good. Cecilia, since you came back from K City, you seem like a whole new person. That's wonderful. The CEO's wife of the Yin Consortium should have such presence." Grandma Yin then asked, "You've already met the old lady from the Yun family?"
Cecilia's eyelashes trembled.
She knew nothing could be hidden from Grandma Yin, so Cecilia admitted directly, "Yes, I've met her. She also told me some things about the past."
"So what are your thoughts? Now that the Gu family is completely gone, have you considered returning to the Yun family?" Grandma Yin asked straightforwardly.
"There's no rush," Cecilia smiled. "What my surname is, what my name is—none of that really matters. Mom raised me single-handedly; I don't want to break her heart."
Cecilia was referring to Jane Gu.
Grandma Yin nodded. "Alright, it's up to you. But this time, the Yun family is on the invitation list, while Jane Gu... her status doesn't meet the criteria, so..."
"I understand," Cecilia nodded.
Ethan Yin is hosting a birthday banquet, and Jane Gu really doesn't qualify to attend.
Grandma Yin seemed increasingly satisfied with Cecilia.
It seemed that since Cecilia returned from K City, she truly had changed.
Her entire aura had reached a new level.
Although Cecilia knew the five percent stake in Yin Enterprises she held was only obtained because Charles outmaneuvered Grandma Yin, it was still thanks to Grandma Yin's approval.
So, Cecilia remained very grateful to Grandma Yin.
The three of them chatted about family matters until the assistant came in to report that Ethan Yin and May Yan had arrived.
Grandma Yin squinted and said, "Let them in."
The door opened, and Ethan Yin and May Yan stepped in, greedily looking around as if they couldn't get enough.
Grandma Yin's brows furrowed ever so slightly.
"Grandma, your grandson is here to pay his respects." As soon as Ethan entered, he knelt before Grandma Yin and bowed three times.
May Yan stood off to the side and cautiously said to Grandma Yin, "Mom—"
Grandma Yin responded calmly, "You haven't officially married into the family, so don't call me that."
May Yan's face turned pale and she obediently changed her address, "Yes, Madam."
