"I'm really happy that you're sharing all this with me so seriously. It means you don't see me as an outsider anymore." Cecilia Gu turned her hand and held Charles Yin's fingers, speaking earnestly, "Don't worry, I won't let you down! I'll help you safeguard the Yin Family's fortune!"
Charles Yin just smiled gently, "You don't need to guard anything. I only hope you can be happy. Spend money however you like, it doesn't matter. But as a direct descendant, our noble bloodline must never be tainted by those born of concubines. Can you understand that?"
Cecilia Gu didn’t fully understand, but she could imagine what he meant.
The higher up people are, the more obsessed they are with the purity of their bloodline.
"What I need to remind you is this: No matter how much you dislike my mother, please don’t argue with her in front of outsiders, okay?" Charles Yin said sincerely to Cecilia Gu, "Now that you have the status and position on the Yin Enterprises board, even if my mother doesn’t like you, she’ll still give you face. Ethan Yin is coming back, so that woman will definitely return too. The Yin Family is about to get very lively!"
"I understand." Young Madam nodded seriously, "I won’t let you down."
Charles Yin reached out and ruffled Cecilia Gu’s hair, saying, "I trust you."
"A lot of people will come for Ethan Yin’s birthday. Whether you like them or not, don’t lose your temper in public. After the banquet, we’ll deal with them slowly. And remember, trust me! Don’t ever push me towards other women again, got it?" Charles Yin’s tone was a little stern by the end.
Cecilia Gu couldn’t help but stick out her tongue. So fierce.
"Mrs. Yin." The staff stopped in their tracks to greet Young Madam as she passed by.
With the Yin Family’s wealth and status, how could they possibly not find someone?
Unless that person is deliberately hiding.
Otherwise, there’s absolutely no reason they wouldn’t be found.
But why would Charles Yin’s father be hiding?
It makes no sense!
Charles Yin’s lips curled into a playful smile. "Maybe fate just doesn’t want us to find him."
At that very moment, in a city thousands of miles away, a handsome man flopped onto a sofa and said loudly, "Why bother packing? The Yin Family has everything! Once we’re there, we’re the masters. Just toss out all this junk!"
A strikingly beautiful woman sat down beside him and said, "We’ve waited so long, and finally the day has come! Ethan, the Yin Family promised us. This time, we’re joining the board for sure! Son, you’re the heir of the Yin Family. You can’t let your big brother outshine you!"
Ethan Yin replied disdainfully, "Isn’t that obvious? Once I’m back, everything in the Yin Family will be ours. That old lady with a limp and Charles Yin are nothing! I heard Charles married some commoner. Tsk tsk, each generation gets worse! Mom, don’t worry—I’ll marry someone who’s worthy of my status. By then, everything in the Yin Family will be ours for the taking!"
Only then did the beautiful woman smile with satisfaction.
"Don’t worry, Mom will make sure to pick you a good wife." The beautiful woman’s eyes gleamed with pride. "As long as we keep your grandma happy, Charles Yin will be under your feet in no time!"
In the old Yin Family mansion, Grandma Evelyn Yin watched the butler direct the staff to tidy up a room. She quietly said to her assistant, "Now that May Yan has entered the Yin Family, she may not behave herself. If necessary, she’ll need to be taught a lesson."
"Yes, Madam." The assistant nodded in response.
The assistant thought for a moment, then asked, "What about Mrs. Yin? Is she coming back too?"
"Hmph, she’ll move in just to prove her status. Let her! For Charles’s sake, I won’t hold it against her. But if she goes too far, she’ll need a reminder! Oh, by the way, has Cecilia Gu already returned?" Grandma Evelyn Yin said, "Since Cecilia Gu is back, let’s see how lively things get! I’ve given her so much money, it’s time she repays the Yin Family."
"Are you planning to invite the Yun Family over as guests?" the assistant pressed.
"Of course I’ll invite our in-laws. And it must be a formal invitation." A sly glint flashed in Grandma Evelyn Yin’s eyes. "It’s been ages since I saw Madam Yun!"
Cecilia Gu didn’t return to the Yin Family mansion until the third day after coming back.
As soon as Cecilia Gu walked in, she saw everyone in the house busy and tense.
"Mrs. Yin." The staff stopped in their tracks to greet Cecilia Gu as she passed by.
"Fine. Since you’ve married Charles and are having his child, you’re officially the Yin Family’s Young Madam. As Charles’s wife, it’s your duty to manage the household." Mrs. Yin’s tone was still a bit stiff—no, more like she was so used to being dominant that she hadn’t learned how to bow her head to anyone.
"Yes, Mrs. Yin has returned," one of the staff replied.
Mother-in-law is back?
Cecilia Gu remembered the awkward scene from last time and hesitated.
Even though she promised Charles Yin she’d try to get along with his mother.
But...
Cecilia Gu reached out and touched her belly, sighing softly.
Life in a wealthy family is deep as the sea.
"Madam!" Suddenly, many voices greeted her from behind. Before Cecilia Gu could turn around, her assistant Wendy joined in, "Hello, Madam!"
As soon as Wendy’s sick leave ended, she came right back to work.
Cecilia Gu was such a good boss that Wendy was happy to follow her.
Only then did Cecilia Gu slowly turn around, just in time to see Mrs. Yin being wheeled toward her.
Today, Mrs. Yin wore a deep purple silk dress trimmed with gold, hiding her missing lower limb, and a pure white fox fur coat draped over her shoulders.
"Mom." Cecilia Gu greeted her first.
This time, Mrs. Yin didn’t ignore Cecilia Gu.
"Everyone else, leave us. I have something to say to Mrs. Yin." Mrs. Yin dismissed the others.
Cecilia Gu nodded to Wendy, who then left to wait farther away.

Mrs. Yin gave Cecilia Gu a once-over, then said grudgingly, "Charles really went all out for you!"
Cecilia Gu didn’t say a word.
"Fine. Since you’ve married Charles and are having his child, you’re officially the Yin Family’s Mrs. Yin. As Charles’s wife, it’s your duty to manage the household." Mrs. Yin’s tone was still a bit stiff—no, more like she was so used to being dominant that she hadn’t learned how to bow her head to anyone.
"Yes, Mom," Cecilia Gu replied calmly.
May Yan also greeted them cautiously, "Big Sister, Young Madam."
"I don’t like it," Cecilia Gu answered calmly. "Does my surname or my background really matter that much to you, Mom?"
"Hmph." Mrs. Yin snorted coldly. "Sharp-tongued little girl."
"Isn’t that exactly the kind of person you like, Mom?" Cecilia Gu gently stroked her belly, comforting her child. "Now that Ethan Yin is coming into the family, I bet you wouldn’t like a daughter-in-law who can’t talk back."
Mrs. Yin looked like she was about to get angry, but remembering the shares Cecilia Gu held, she forced herself to swallow her words.
Charles Yin was right.
No matter how much her mother-in-law disliked her, with five percent of the shares in her hand, Cecilia Gu could endure anything!
Charles really did give her a golden ticket!
"Ethan Yin is already back. You’d better be prepared." Mrs. Yin gritted her teeth. Now, she had no choice but to join forces with Cecilia Gu against the second branch. "That wretch May Yan will use this chance to officially enter the Yin Family. You may be Mrs. Yin, but you’re also part of Yin Enterprises. If Ethan Yin goes to the company, you know what to do, right?"
Cecilia Gu frowned, "Mom, I don’t think this is something I should get involved in. According to Charles, Grandma might give Ethan Yin a branch company to manage, but he won’t have any say at headquarters. Besides, both the headquarters and the branch companies are Charles’s people—what’s there to worry about? Instead of worrying about Ethan Yin, you should think about how to talk Grandma out of letting May Yan into the Yin Family Registry. It’s a done deal that Ethan Yin will be added, but if May Yan gets in, she’ll be on equal footing with you!"
"Wretch!" Mrs. Yin spat, her face twisted with rage, nearly losing all her composure.
Cecilia Gu just stood there, saying nothing.
"Do you have any good ideas?" Mrs. Yin suddenly looked up at Cecilia Gu.
Cecilia Gu shook her head. "Grandma is the one in charge of the Yin Family now. May Yan’s breakthrough is with Grandma. What ideas could I have?"
"But you’re the eldest grandson’s wife, and you’re carrying the fourth generation of the Yin Family! If you go ask Grandma, maybe she’ll listen to you." Mrs. Yin looked at Cecilia Gu, her mood shifting. "What, you don’t want to help me?"
Cecilia Gu didn’t answer, but looked up and said, "Ethan Yin is here!"
Sure enough, the next second, Cecilia Gu saw a skinny, slouching man swaggering over, grinning cheekily.
Beside him was a striking woman, about forty-five or forty-six, well-maintained and beautiful.
Cecilia Gu had seen their photos before, so she recognized them instantly.
Ethan Yin grinned and greeted them, "Aunt, Sister-in-law!"
May Yan also greeted them cautiously, "Big Sister, Senior Mrs. Yin."
Mrs. Yin snorted loudly, but Cecilia Gu smiled and returned the greeting. "I’ve heard Ethan Yin is quite the gentleman. Seeing you today, the rumors are true. Aunt Yan, are you settling in well at home?"
Ethan Yin hadn’t expected such praise and was instantly delighted!
The Yin Family’s genes really were impressive.
Just look at Charles Yin’s striking looks.
Of course, this also had something to do with Mrs. Yin’s elegance and refinement.
Ethan Yin looked nothing like Charles Yin. He had a more flamboyant style, slender build, and a striking face that made him appear rather feminine.
May Yan nodded immediately, "Thank you for your concern, Senior Mrs. Yin. Everything is fine."
