This war raged for three whole months, a chaotic mess from start to finish. Originally, the Sky Tiger Legion’s garrison had nothing to do with it—but Evan Chu’s one spark set the entire star-region ablaze, and the flames spread everywhere.
Finally, someone sharp realized things weren’t adding up. Suddenly, a Sky Tiger Legion soldier erupted with terrifying power and cut down a deputy Throne of the Flowing-Light Legion. Furious, the Flowing-Light Legion dropped their fights with the other two and stormed straight for the Sky Tiger Legion’s garrison city.
But when they actually fought the real Sky Tiger Legion, they found its battle strength was nowhere near as fierce as those earlier monsters.
And in this siege, nobody ever saw that legendary one-man-two-beasts combo.
At last, the Flowing-Light Legion’s Throne realized something was off. Could there be a fifth force meddling in all this?
So, the Flowing-Light Legion, acting under the Pearlstream Dynasty’s banner, issued a ceasefire declaration. Truth was, the other two legions didn’t want to fight anymore either. After all this, they’d gained nothing and lost a ton of resources and soldiers.
On that day, the three legion leaders met face-to-face, separated by a mountain valley. Each one came with doubts burning in his heart.
Evan Chu saw what was happening and cursed inwardly—he was about to be exposed!
Sure enough, once the three big shots met, they all admitted they’d been attacked by some mysterious force. The most obvious trait? Every attacker had the power of at least two stars, and their leader was always that one-man-two-beasts team, masters of ambush.
With everything out in the open, they all realized—they’d been played!
"Gentlemen, looks like someone else is eyeing the Pearl-Mountain Star-Region—and their methods are downright shady. We’ve all walked right into their trap!"
"That’s right. If our three sides keep fighting, that’s when things get truly terrifying."
The Thrones of the Flowing-Light and Ink-Blood Legions spoke first; finally, the Lanford Legion’s Throne nodded in agreement.
"I think right now we should focus on taking the Sky Tiger Legion’s garrison city and locking down the mining rights to this star-region. Whoever’s behind all this will have to show themselves then."
"I have a proposal. What do you two think?"
"Just say it, Flowing-Light Throne. At this point, none of us can stay out of it. Things have gone too far—none of us can face our dynasties empty-handed. Unless we seize the Sky Tiger Legion’s star-mines, we’re finished. But after this war, I think any one of our three sides is already running on empty."
"The Ink-Blood Throne is right; we all know what’s up, no need to hide anything. That’s why I suggest—from this moment on, our three legions join forces to attack the Sky Tiger Legion’s garrison city and star-mines."
And after that, the Pearl-Mountain Star-Region’s mining rights get split three ways. That way, we all make up for our losses, we’ll have an answer for our Holy Emperors, and that bastard won’t get another chance!
The Flowing-Light Throne spoke through gritted teeth—he’d taken the biggest loss in this war. That was a peak early Saint Venerable! Without that right-hand man, he’d be at a disadvantage not just in future campaigns, but even in his own dynasty’s internal power struggles.
Other dynasties’ subordinate legions look strong too, but unlike the Frostbane Dynasty, their insides are a mess—most of their time is spent fighting among themselves, scrambling for power.
These guys may have average talent—nothing compared to Evan Chu—but every one of them came out of their own trial world.
Frostbane may be called a dynasty now, but its trial world rivals those of the Five Sacred Lands. Back in the day, Frostbane was a true Sacred Land! It’s only because of the curse that it can’t produce many top experts, but that doesn’t mean Evan Chu’s talent and potential are suppressed.
"I agree. No objections."
"Me too. Three days from now, our three legions will gather their strongest forces and attack the Sky Tiger Legion’s garrison city and star-mines!"
Evan Chu heard every word of the three big shots’ discussion—his light element law avatar was right there, running the law, completely invisible and without a trace of aura.
"Getting ready to join forces, huh? That’s going to be a headache."
Evan Chu felt a headache coming on. One Sky Tiger garrison was enough for him to toy with, but now, with all three legions joining forces, if they really take control of the Pearl-Mountain Star-Region, he’ll be completely out of luck.
Suddenly, a wild idea popped into Evan Chu’s head—he had over two thousand waste meteors on hand. If he blew them all up, at least one legion would be wiped out…
No way! That won’t help me at all. The Pearl-Mountain Star-Region isn’t like the others—I’m planning to carve out my own kingdom here!
Just as Evan Chu was scratching his head, Old Goldwing suddenly piped up—
"Boss, why not stir up some trouble inside the Ink-Blood Legion? Maybe spark a little conflict?"
"What do you mean?"
"Nothing much, just that during the last fight, I kept getting chased by this early Saint Venerable. If I hadn’t broken through to early Saint Lord half a month ago, I’d have been dead for sure. But while he was chasing me, I realized—he wasn’t even fighting at full strength!"
Honestly, if he went all out, he could probably take out his own boss—the Ink-Blood Throne.
"Wait, seriously? You’re saying an early Saint Venerable could kill a mid Saint Venerable? And instead of slaughtering anyone, he just chases you around while his own legion gets wiped out?"
This news genuinely surprised Evan Chu.
"Maybe not. I saw him step in when the Flowing-Light Legion tried to wipe out a squad—maybe he’s got a few brothers in the legion he actually cares about."
"Hey! That’s good news! Looks like things are a mess inside—sounds like a chance for us to strike!"
Evan Chu was starting to enjoy scheming—maybe this was his best shot at taking down all three great legions, or even seizing the Pearl-Mountain Star-Region for himself!
That night, Evan Chu snuck into the Ink-Blood Legion’s camp, grabbed a few core squad leaders, crippled their cultivation, and handed them over to the Geocore Soul Mother.
A round of soul-searching and soul control—Evan Chu now had all their memories.
"So that’s what’s really going on?"
Evan Chu was delighted—this was a golden opportunity!
