Strange Humanoid Spell Talisman

"Uh—truth be told, Mr. Young, we've tried everything these past few days! We even invited a famous Taoist priest from Cloud Temple to check the Feng Shui at the station. He said there weren't any big problems, and he even swapped out our old Lord Guan statue for a new one to keep the evil away—properly consecrated and all. But honestly, it hasn't helped one bit! The evil spirit's gotten even wilder, showing up in the toilets and hallways even in broad daylight! We're all scared stiff. No one's been hurt, but everyone is freaking out. And you can't exactly go public with weird stuff like this, so we had no choice but to move our work outside for now!" Sergeant Louis Liu said, looking utterly defeated.

"This place's Feng Shui was fine at first, but someone messed with the surroundings! Now the energy's all twisted—this has become a super unlucky, super cursed spot!" Shawn Young said straight-up, not bothering to sugarcoat it.

"Huh! A super cursed spot? How could it be so intense!? Why did the Cloud Temple priest say the Feng Shui was fine!?" Sergeant Louis Liu blurted out, torn between believing Shawn and the Taoist priest.

Shawn Young pointed to the street on the right, facing the main entrance of Sham Shui Po Police Station. Across the road, through some buildings, you could faintly see a hospital. He said, "Hey—can you see that hospital across the street from the station entrance?"

"Yeah, that's a Red Cross hospital. It's a few blocks away from us. Is there something spooky about it too?" Sergeant Louis Liu asked, raising an eyebrow.

"It was fine before, but hospitals are places full of pain and death—loads of bad energy. I suspect someone is using that to cast evil spells, dragging the hospital's deathly aura right over here. I can't tell why yet, but right now Sham Shui Po Police Station is under the 'White Tiger's Death Curse.' So even the Feng Shui outside is a mess. But that's just the tip of the iceberg—the real trouble's inside. If we poke around, we'll find some clues. But hey, if you don't believe me, I'm out of options!" Shawn Young declared, with a shrug.

Sergeant Louis Liu hurriedly said, "Ah—if that's the case, Mr. Young, please come inside and check out the Feng Shui for us! Save us from turning into ghost fodder!"

Right away, Shawn Young and his two companions followed Sergeant Louis Liu and a bunch of officers back into Sham Shui Po Police Station. The moment Shawn stepped inside, he felt a wave of cold, eerie energy hit him full in the face—creepy enough to make your hair stand on end. He frowned, glanced up, and spotted a golden statue of Lord Guan in the main hall. That sinister vibe was pouring out from the statue like bad perfume.

Noticing Shawn Young's grimace, Sergeant Louis Liu quickly explained, "Don't be weirded out, Mr. Young. Hong Kong's not like the mainland—praying to Lord Guan before work is a police tradition here. Most stations have his statue! And ours was blessed by a high monk—supposed to keep the nasties away!"

"Yeah, I know, that's not what I meant. It looks like someone tampered with the Lord Guan altar!" Shawn Young said, striding over to take a closer look, with Sergeant Louis Liu and the others hot on his heels.

Shawn Young walked up to the golden Lord Guan statue and studied it carefully. After a while, he couldn't see anything odd, but he could sense a strong, righteous energy—that meant the statue was genuinely blessed. Still, something felt off about its aura. The creepy vibe that had been swirling around suddenly vanished, leaving Shawn puzzled. He circled the area, looking for clues, like a cat sniffing out fish.

Sergeant Mandy Chung, tagging along, asked anxiously, "So? See anything weird yet? Or is the ghost just camera-shy?"

Shawn Young shook his head, muttering to himself, "So strange. It was right here a second ago. Did it sprout wings and fly off?"

"Fly off? Wait—was that evil spirit just here!?" Sergeant Mandy Chung squeaked, her voice trembling and eyes wide.

"Not a full-on evil spirit—just a little wisp of a ghost! It's formless, barely there. Unless you're seriously unlucky or weak, it won't bother you." Shawn Young said, then suddenly had a lightbulb moment. He reached out, ready to push the golden Lord Guan statue.

"Whoa—Mr. Young, what are you doing? You can't just mess with the altar, that's super disrespectful to the gods!" Sergeant Louis Liu cried, trying to stop him, looking like he'd just seen his mother-in-law naked.

"If I'm not wrong, someone messed with the base of this Lord Guan statue! If we don't dig out the secret, this place will be haunted forever—" Shawn Young said, blunt as ever, itching to get his hands dirty.

"Ah—then, Mr. Young, please, take a good look!" Sergeant Louis Liu yelped, jumping back like the statue might bite him.

Shawn Young didn't bother being polite—he grabbed the Lord Guan statue and slid it aside. Underneath, he found a jade-green, human-shaped Spell Talisman—totally not your everyday paper charm. It was covered in blood-red runes, drawn like a person wrapped up in bondage. The whole thing gave off a freaky, sinister vibe, like a kinky ghost party gone wrong.

"Oh! Knew it was here—" Shawn Young raised his eyebrows and reached out to grab the weird human-shaped Spell Talisman, grinning like he'd found a naughty secret.

Just then, the weird human-shaped Spell Talisman suddenly sprang up, shot into the air—"Whoosh!"—and turned into a blinding green light, zipping off toward the station's inner corridor like a ghost on a caffeine rush.

"Tch—trying to run, huh?" Shawn Young didn't hesitate, sprinting after the green light. As soon as he dashed into the long corridor, a shrill, ear-splitting scream echoed from inside—"Yeee—aaah—" It sounded like a banshee on a bad hair day.

Sergeant Louis Liu and the other cops turned pale at the scream, their hands shaking as they whipped out their sidearms and huddled together back-to-back, looking like a bunch of rookies at a haunted house. Even Sergeant Mandy Chung's pretty face went ghost-white—because that was the exact evil spirit's wail they'd all heard in their nightmares. If this kept up, they'd need more than Lord Guan to save their butts!
